This video is very helpful! Thank you for making it! Everyone, please be aware that if you are Sephardic the Mezuzah is placed straight up, not angled at all.

no you see, i had recieved a mezuzah (necklace) as a present for my bar mitzvah (this weekend). the name of g-d is not visable through the window. i think it might be upside down. would it be alright to tke the scroll out and flip it?

It depends what you plan to do with it. To look at it (and have it checked for accuracy) would be fine. To leave it in a place where it could get ruined or have junk piled atop it, would not be appropriate.

If I purchase a mezuzah from a store or online, is it likely to have the scroll already in it? I always assumed it would, but better safe than sorry.

A mezuzah is designed to be put on a doorpost. A necklace many be a nice piece of jewlery, but is not a "mezuzah," so there is probably no scroll inside at all.

if you take the scroll out of the casing would it be considered unholy or anything like that?

Installing the Mezuzah at the bottom of the upper 1/3 of the door is about 52" from the floor, that looks too low for a normal height man... it does not look like that animated clip at all.
    Any comment please?....

ive seen jews mostly post the mezuzah at an angle like the video not straight up and down.
