  • Why do we affix a Mezuzah in the entrance of our homes? Is is a good luck charm? Who originated this Jewish tradition?

I was once in a Jewish hospital and there was one on the door frame. I ask the nurse what is that box on the door. The RN who was Jewish told me all about it. I really Like it.

+Holly Hubert, my mother has a Jewish friend who gifted her with a Mezuzah and showed her how it attaches to the doorpost. He knew we are Christians and observe/celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions. I recently purchased one for my home also.

My dear I am a born again Christian. Just know that Jesus fulfilled the covenant and laws of God with his death and resurrection on the cross. He completed the law. Hence why we are Christians do not follow the law as it was fulfilled at the cross for salvation. I am putting some in my house with joy and love towards God. They have Christoozas and Messianic ones. As long as you understand your salvation, Galatians 3. You can get one.

Hi! I am Norwegian but alas no Jew. Still, I strongly believe in God that I read about in the Torah (I have the Stone edition). I have been to Israel and visited Masada and Jerusalem. I am not member of any church or faith, but I have found my faith when in Israel. And I am proud to try to be a Noahide.
My questian is if it will be wrong to put up a Mezuzah on my doorpost? To show everybody my joy for God, my sympatie for the Jewish people, and perhaps as a hope for Gods blessing in my home?

The scroll is only placed in the case. It should be removed and inspected every number of years (some say 7) and inspected, to make sure no letters have been totally or partially erased.
A Menorah is a 7 branched candelabra. We use for Chanukah, but in order to differentiate from the one that was in the Beit HaMikdash we use a different number of branches. For Chanukahwe use one with 8 branches corresponding to the 8 days of Chanukah. In many a synagogue you will see a 6 branched Menorah.

who and where and why do you feel you cannot live openly as you are in this world? of course there are places that people have to live in such a way but if you live in the United States, even in very bad ghettos, then Ill tell you that you have no reason to live in fear as you are. I know that's a brazen statement with the increase in attacks upon synagogues and hate crimes against Jews. but there is also an increase on hate crimes against muslims, gays, immigrants, blacks, etc. there is a belief among a very selective group of assholes that they can and do go out and be hostile to everyone who they feel threatens them. FUCK THEM! they will continue to get more aggressive if you me and everyone else shirk in fear from them. never be forced into doing something from fear of another and their action.

I am not Jewish, but I am a Christian with immense interest in the Hebraic roots of my religion. Would it be offensive or inappropriate for me to place one of these outside of my house, regarding it with the same meanings? Also, what if I had it in English as opposed to Hebrew, would that be bad or fine?

Must one be Jewish to put up a Mezuzah?
Can a non Jew put up a Mezuzah and use Revelation 20 -3 as the inner scroll scripture?
    Interesting info I just came across;
    Deuteronomy 6 4 5 6 7 8 9 and
    Deuteronomy 11 13 to 21 both have 22 lines
just like the Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters.
Does one make the Mezuzah an idol if
one kisses the Mezuzah going out of the home and coming back home?
    Praise G - d
    Glory to G - d
... for me, a non Jew
through Lord Jesus the Christ my saviour
    Amen Amen and Amen
    ... no harm intended
    Please provide your answer
