Hi Austin, I think this colour thing regarding racial identification goes a lot deeper than mere perception because of how they are racially classified. For example I remember reading an article in one of our local newspapers on race and perceptions and in this article it basically came to the conclusion that there is a spectrum of colour and shades in racial classification and that in the black race there are actually 30 shades of black skin colour from the lightest of colour to the darkest of black. And in the white race there are only 5 shades of white from the chalky white colour of white to the olive tones of white skin.
All this focus on colour and whitening is a load of nonsense because it is basically stating that white skin is more superior and black skin is inferior and that is absolutely not true at all and I will never accept this. This obsession of colour by whites and this supposed hierarchical structure is really a distraction from the real issues that should be discussed and that is this unfair distribution of wealth and this would solve most problems in a relatively short period of time. For instance if wealth was accessible to black people easily to do what they needed to do with it would we still be discussing race and its implications? No we would be busy progressing in our society and cultures effectively just like everyone else does but the dominant culture knows this and are using this lack of wealth to dominate us hence why we are discussing this topic and going around in circles talking about a subject that is obvious. I hope you get where I’m coming from. Good luck on your travels 😊

She was an amazing guest and extremely articulate! Very surprised to see because I've lived throughout many Hispanic countries over the past 30 yrs. She told so much truth in this interview of how Melanated hispanic women with tight curly hair really are more attracted to Pale men than Melanated men and I tripped out when I saw that so much in Brazil, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and especially with most Hispanic women in Miami. The Melanated hispanic women completely acted they were not attracted to Melanated men, and they are the most beautiful so that hurt a brotha lol never heard them really speak like this of why, she gave great info of why 👏🏾
But, yes it is extremely true that the vast majority of Melanated peoples of North, Central, South America and the Caribbean are actually Aboriginal Indigenous people to the Americas just like Australian Aborigines are to Australia and the vast many millions and millions are to Papua New Guinea, and the vast Melanessian Islands. She is right too. There is no "Black". People are called "Black" because of Melanin and stereotyped features. Melanin is the various shades of darkest to lightest BROWN. Not Black. And all people have large features and thin features. Largest percentage of people with straight hair in the world have straight hair, not kinky/curly. Bangladesh, India, Papua New Guinea, just alone have billions of people with straight hair. Any people with Melanin would actually be called "Black" if others like Jada Pinkett could be. She was a great intelligent guest in her journey of learning 👏🏾🔥🧠💡

Look at Argentina now, a declining population, one of the poorest nations in South America and a country on the decline, soon they going to be begging Black men to come into the country to impregnate their women like the Japanese are doing. I know exactly what feeling you're describing but I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't necessarily stem from self-hatred.
Something I've learned in all my travels though Colombia is that Chocoanos are just a pretty insular people overall but they tend to have relatively strong roots in Africanity. They warm up to you with time whereas Atlantic coast and Cali Afrolatinos tend to be more openly friendly overall.

@FavelaManuela No doubt that Chocoanos have more indigenous ancestry than many new world Afrodescendants, the indigenous and african cultures are entangled in Chocó and even the visually blackest people there seem to have an Embera grandparent or 2. And while there is a pretty big native / mixed population in Chocó, the vast majority of the population is of African descent, with the average chocoano being 76% African, 13% Native and 11% European. At least according to a study by the GSA.
Phenotypically speaking however, Chocóanos (along with Palenqueros) are by and large, the most African-looking afrolatino groups I've encountered, especially in comparison to the average costeño. It's also quite common for many Chocóanos to still have surnames of African origin, which is very unique and a testament to their heritage.

I watched parts of this interview and I do not hear any "self hate" from this young lady. People have preferences for a variety of reasons, it could be proximity, familiarity, or raw attraction to a certain phenotype. Attraction is not a choice, and while it can be suppressed, it is completely natural. Why is it wrong for her to prefer men of other races?
Could it be that she does not have much familiarity with black people and therefore prefers white Latino men?
She is an introspective person who has a decent understanding of history in LATAM, far more than the average person so she is definitely literate. Sexual preferences are not a valid reason to label her as someone who exhibits "self hate". Moreover, Auston's preferences are far more "race" specific than her preferences as he has emphasized that he will seek to settle down with a black woman. Her position is that she will seek a good man irrespective of ethnicity or race.

However, while contrasting the efficacy of both empires he states the difference in policy vis a vis the locals. Although he did not state explicitly, the Anglo Saxons effectively either sought extermination or segregation even in Hong Kong, whereas the Spaniards intermarried with the locals to create a new elite in Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia etc whilst extracting gold and sending it to the Iberian Peninsula to the king of Spain.

@listeningtoreason5499 Thanks for asking, but before we begin, let's get some context that mostly everyone is familiar with. The Bible and why it was written as our helper to avoid certain destruction actions that can not be changed once into motion. Let's begin with the word Genesis, which we are often told means the beginning of the world. But when we examine the word, you realize it has nothing to do with the beginning of the world, but everything to do with the beginning men, who are the offspring of the angels. Also, isn't it written "let us make men in our image and likeness." As a matter of fact, the word
Genesis is the informal plural for Gene that pertains to a unit of heredity that is transferred from a parent to offspring and is held to determine some characteristics of the offspring. Furthermore, Genesis chapter 3 explains the sharing of DNA and characteristics inherited by Cain. It detailed that Cains birth was the first of two unique species mixing, and as a result, he was genetically changed or transmutated and so was of a different "Kind." The expression, "two kinds" is actually used in reference to Khain, who is described in the writings as being of two heterogeneities, because his maternal DNA is from Eve (aMa). Who is one unique species, but his paternal DNA is from a different male species commonly referred to as angel. So that "Cain" was a genetically transmutation as well as all his descendants. So species don't evolve or devolve. They transmuted or mixed if compatible and become a different kind. I am explaining all that to say this, when we mix, we lose our identity and become a different kind, which most people can't identify with, so they ridicule, which is commonly translated as racism.

I am peruvian and some of my best friends and neighbors were afro-descendants. I know the history of slavery in Peru, I think it was the same in Ecuador, Colombia. In Peru we have only 8% of afrodescendents. We have also some misses from this community as a Miss Hispanoamérica 2022 Arlette Rujel and Miss and Miss Mesoamérica 2023 Maryori Morán.
Also soccer players in our team La Blanquirroja, they are good players ⚽
