Boooo. I grew up in Healdsburg (Go Greyhounds 1989!) and Santa Rosa and first moved away to Reno NV late 1993. I noticed things starting to change way back then and acted. I've tried coming home twice since then, living in Guerneville as recently as November 2017, only to move back to Reno again out of survival. Locals can't afford it anymore. 3rd and 4th generation families are having to relocate because of the narcissistic opulence oozing up from San Francisco, making HBG their personal cabana house, complete with underpaid service workers. I'll probably never be able to move back unless I win MegaMillions and I'm already living within feet of many casinos, so that's a "no". The REAL con is Healdsburg isn't the same Healdsburg it was less than 30 years ago. Like it's one big gentrification project. Personally, it's disgusting and I feel sorry for my friends who are lucky enough to still live there but have to put up with the increasingly snooty attitudes that have changed my 'Burg from the sleepy little prune town it used to be to the mecca for former Yuppies.
Thank you so much for watching! I’m sorry to hear the city wasn’t a fit for you anymore and I do agree that the city has changed over the years. As many cities have over the span of the last 30 years. I like to think there are positives and negatives to every city and our priorities change over time as well and sometimes that means we either grow to love what the city has become or have come to dislike it. Either way, I think there’s a place for everyone and I’m glad you found your new home!
