California is garbage i quickly found out. Go to Michigan! Its ten times better with awesome clean, safe beaches. No Pros for California, no matter the city
Living in Sacramento California, my mother moved me to Sacramento in Oct. 1974 I never left got a state job retired and here it is Aug. 02, 2024, I still live in Sacramento, I used to take public bus to my job that was on Q Street. all turn out well for me I enjoy Sacramento that why I never left. Thanks for your video.
I lived in Sacramento for almost 11 years and I agree with most of this but they did get the pubic transportation way wrong and I'm from personal experience since I don't drive however the comment about the heat there and comparing it to Arizona was definitely spot on I've been in AZ for almost a year now and can't wait to get back to Sacramento
Moved from Bay area Living in elkgrove in Sacramento County for 3 years, I loved it. The first year was tough due to the temperature in the hot season, but later I adapted, so it's good. Well, you guys mentioned almost every aspect, correct, but you forgot to mention we have Sacramento Airport, which is easy to In and out.
I love how he keeps walking in the same place and turning around so it looks like he’s going somewhere 😂. Old sac is really tiny and what you see is pretty much it
Thank you guys for this Chanel! I plan on moving out there within a year or two or even sooner if possible. It's a great Chanel for someone like me. It's helping me plan my move better.
Crime free no if you look for pedos there every where in sac come and find out been here since I was born every one moving here that it’s not as nice at it was it used to be like family space not no more it starting feel like San Francisco

The homeless situation here in Sacramento is horrible. It is getting out of hand, and Sacramento is getting expensive to live in. I'm thinking of moving out of state. It used to be a great place to live, not anymore.
Pros: sunshine blue skys, hot weather, bike trails to ride on for bike riders like myself, light rail,Cosumnes River College, the rivers, bike lanes around the city and out of the city, VA Hospital. Cons: rent to high, have to make 2x or 3x the rent to rent apartment, no affordable apartments for senior citizens who are on a fixed income like myself, when it rains it rains. I love Sacramento that's my home city.
Good review, but I thought you missed some key things and this is also a bit focused for those moving within CA/West to SAC. I moved here just over two years ago from St Louis and have also lived in Raleigh, and I’m from Toronto. Pro: my main reason for moving here was it more diverse and integrated, even for CA. I am including cultures/race, but also income-levels, and other social circles (e.g. politically, it’s pretty mixed up with it being close to the Bay BUT in the Central Valley - which is a good thing in my opinion). It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty great compared to St. louis or Raleigh. Also, on the jobs comment, I’m in agriculture and Sacramento is a pretty good spot given the typically rural options I would be stuck with (other reason i’m here). UC Davis, Sac State, and other colleges deserve mentions on education. Con: You can’t skip the conversations on homelessness, home affordability, and general cost of living (which of course is related). Of course, it’s relative. It’s better than some other parts of CA, but it’s still CA, which is worse than other states. Thankfully, most of the communities in Sacramento are pretty pro-development and there’s a lot of housing going up and that includes affordable and mid-tier housing.
Thank you for this video and letting people like myself be aware of this. Im looking into moving to Sacramento California in a few years with my family. We are very excited to make a visit as well before the move. 😎👍🏾🙏🏾
I forgot to mention I got my house in 1985 for under $20,000.00 it is all paid off that a BIG Plus for me. No mortgage no rent no house payment. People in gov very kind to me also. Maybe because I worked 37 years at a state job is why.
Hello Lance and Lauren! So upon watching the video...'on average' how many times (per year) would you say Sacramento's air quality is affected by the wildfires? Thank you so much, Monica
Great question, I feel like we have been very lucky for the past few years that the air quality hasn’t been affected by any wildfires. With that being said, recent there was one about a week ago but it only lasted for a day or so. I will see if I can find a resource that has some historical data on AQI scores for the past few years.
I just moved to Sacramento from Virginia. Two of the important things that I saw/ see are dust & damaged roads. The roads are bumpy and many pot holes are there. Especially in arden arcade and many streets in surrounding areas. Spread of trash. I thought Sacramento was at least cleaner than Baltimore. When it comes to roads, Virginia and Maryland have clean roads and areas. Another thing is missing the existence of Dunkin Dunt shops. In DMV areas, there are plenty coffee shops and restaurants on every mile or so. In Sacramento you can't find Dunkin Dunt unless you drive 5 to 10 miles to find one..There are many pros and cons.
Thanks for watching and great insight. The roads in Sacramento County are not the best and I feel like there is always road construction going on at some point in time. I will note that the roads are much better once you get into Placer County and El Dorado County. Not sure where you're residing but Dunkin Donuts hasn't taken off in the Sacramento area. There is one in Roseville on Foothills and Junction and one I believe in Folsom.
Hey, I'm thinking of relocating to Sacramento in Spring next year but concerned because a lot of insurance companies are not writing any new homeowner policies. Is it true that a lot major homeowner insurance companies are pulling out of California because of the wildfires?
Hello, thank you for reaching out and watching our videos. There have been a few nationwide insurance companies that have stopped writing policies in California but there still are plenty that are here. Fire insurance is more common the further you go up the mountain but if you would like to chat more about it we can always hop on a zoom call and talk about your goals. You can book an appointment for that here: l2homegroup.com/Moving-In-California
I have say you did an ok review but missed out on the beauty of Sacramento. It's people, the different cultures, the restaurants and the friendliness. Of course not every single person but in general. I have lived here 50+ years. Even grew up in Del Paso Heights! But even there, Little Joe's, Connie's Burger, even the old Sid's Chevron. I was a gas jockey there. There are good people here. Sacramento has expanded and grown in homes and businesses. That doesn't happen if people are moving away. I liked your review but you needed some more personal look into Sacramento
The place I was born I miss Sacramento. I also love ❤ the weather there.I wanna go back home 🏡 so much. They have buses 🚌 and light rail 🚈 there. Try the buses 🚌 😏 in Nampa, ID horriable.
I moved here from a small in town Oregon near Boise Idaho and so for the people commenting they’re moving out of state. They don’t like you guys moving over there 😂 as soon y’all move in everything goes up. A 3 bedroom house would cost around 150k now they’re going for like 300k.
As someone who was born and raised in Sacramento CA and still living there, PLEASE do NOT vote here!! It's bad enough the San Francisco politicians moved here and raised the cost of living!!
Suckramento is way better than the bay area. We have real pool weather in the summer. Lots of lakes and rivers to enjoy. Lots of state gravy train jobs. All the tech jobs are state contracts for the most part.
Love it! Thanks again for the great information. Sacto has many sunny days, yes? As I sit here in the frozen tundra of the midwest and the (too many!) cloudy days. I think I'd rather like the trade of cloudy/cold/snowy days for the heat of the summer, etc. We shall see.....and hopefully it's sunny when we're there in February 🤞
Bro last time I went to sac, me and the fam were visiting the historic part of the town at night and when we were leaving there was black lady on the ground just laughing maniacally in front of one of the shops there. not gonna lie at first i thought she was possessed but she was most likely off something strong. cali definitely crazy with the drugs. this was like 6-7 years ago.
Climate: HOTTER THAN SHIT😓. As for it being 40° in the winter yeah because our winters have now dwindled down to around 20 days out of the year. So if we’re lucky, we will have cold weather for that really tiny period, otherwise, the sun is always shining in California.☀️🔥☹️
Thanks for watching, I’m not quite sure but I’m sure there might be census information or a reliable website that can break down certain areas for what you’re looking for…
This is 9 months old. Sacramento does have a homeless issue but the City and CA are no longer restricted by the Boise ID court ruling. The city can now roust out and fine homeless trying to camp on sidewalks and city land. The homeless count has diminished from 9,000 to 6,000 in one year even before the ruling. That’s mainly due to a change in city council and mayor. The liberal mayor is out and one on the council (actually a member of the socialist party) got voted out. There was a redistricting and the new district citizens booted her out. They tried to recall her but she got to stay per a city attorney ruling until the next election. So now, August 2024, the police with new powers are starting to kick cite (fine) or threaten to jail the homeless. Things are changing in Sacramento. It’s still a liberal city but we are finished with the homeless.
Eh its. Ok. Not a fan of sac but not terrible. Some areas are dangerous but its getting prety crowded . Roseville, Folsom , rocklin davis are my fav areas here they prety safe spots .
Weather is getting worse in the summer. Homelessness is a problem. They’re building what we call cookie cutter homes super close to one another and they’re ridiculously expensive. Because the city is actively building these homes it’s difficult to get around the city in a timely fashion. There’s roadwork everywhere especially on highway 50. Food and gas are expensive too although cheaper than in the Bay Area. Drivers suck. Fastrak is extending their grubby paws to Fairfield for no reason other than to take more money from drivers. Amazon keeps building warehouses near the airport and may add another one near Folsom and Rancho. It’s slowly becoming a cash grab nightmare.
I've lived in Cali all my life but never hear anything about Sacramento. Why is that? I'm guessing it's too far from the coast is why it never grew...until now?
Any particular reason you didn’t answer back? I’m wondering if you know anything about Sac? West of Watt you’ll find Sierra Oaks, the Fab Forties, Pocket…all highly desirable. I’m surprised the agents didn’t chime in.
Thanks for commenting and watching our videos, there are plenty of areas in Sacramento (West of Watt Ave) that are awesome and beautiful. Some people may have differing opinions and that is ok. Every city has its good and bad about it.
