I want to preface, I am not stating this as a bad thing. It’s just changed a lot of things here in sac, specifically north Sacramento and Arden arcade. Settling over 80,000 afghanis has changed the feeling of large parts of sac. I grew up here and there are times I feel like a visitor here. There are areas where the concentrations are heavy and the storefronts are quickly switching over to Arabic. Of your ok with that then this place is for you!
As someone born and raised in Sacramento....I wanna know why Los Angeles and San Francisco is in "love" with the town I was born in. Those people move to Sacramento and eventually made it too expensive for me to live here. Like I "need" to be pushed out of my hometown?
I live in Sacramento absolutetly loved it. and houses are resonably priced for rent. loved the weather. and way less people then big citys. people are nicer.
Moved from the Bay Area ten years ago and have seen rental prices triple in that time. Fine if you're a State worker making decent money or in tech but it's still expensive. One thing I detest is the number of terrible drivers on the roads. I was a professional driver in the BA for years so I've seen it all, but the drivers up here are a breed into themselves. Fortunately my saving grace is my bike and the wonderful bike trails around the region.
Living in Sacramento, (transplanted from Southern California and then Colorado), for the last 15 years, i have seen it get more crowded, more expensive and there seems to be more shootings, drunk driving accidents. When my son and his wife was looking to buy a home, he refused to consider Sacramento because of the homicide rate. Bicycling here is nice on all of the bike trails, but there are honeless camps along some of those trails and there seems to be a lot of crazy auto drivers that ive encountered while trying to bike on the roadways, even though there are bike lanes. There is decent public transpotation, but i wish that it was as good as it was when i visited the UK years ago! The freeway traffic can get crazy, but ut is nothing like it is in the LA basin area. They do have a free stranded auto-on-the-freeway service. I got a flat while driving on the freeway and pulled over. I had called AAA, but before they could get to me, a city service came and changed my tire for free.
Hello, I am looking to move to the Sacramento area specifically Carmichael. I have a job and apartment picked out already. I am wanting more information regarding transportation wise. I cannot drive because of a vision impairment I will be living close by to places. Although I’m interested to know my options on transportation.
Hello, this is going to be the main website for the Sacramento Regional Transit website that should help provide you with some of the information that you're needing. www.sacrt.com/
If this was a realistic pros and cons then the homeless population/issue and gang violence should have been mentioned. I was born in sac and have family both here and in San Bernardino I lived in so-cal until I was 14 and moved back to sac. Been here for 18years and the homeless is increasing by the day and Sacramento doesn’t seem to have a solution for it. I just bought a home in plumas lake because I now have a baby and want to keep him away from the danger that comes with the homeless encampment’s and the gangs. I loved growing up in Sacramento and am sad that I had to move to plumas lake to find a decent affordable house and keep my son away from gangs
By far, the easiest way to enter the US is if you're a nurse. There is a nursing shortage in the US so there are lots of job opportunities. You just gotta be careful and wise which state you wanna live.
Not going to lie I got accepted to this one program in here we don't start training till October in Sacramento and Loki I'm very excited, not only that I don't think I ever been to Sacramento before so this might be my first time for work and as a living experience man I'm so excited, but the cons is i don't start till October😢
I'm thinking of moving there from Chicago soon. I'm just wondering two things. Crime and homelessness. -FBI's latest data is from 2022. What are the crime rates in Sacramento currently? Is crime increasing or decreasing? -How bad is homelessness? Is it getting worse than in previous years? And do you think the city is clean?
Hello and thanks for watching, if you would like we can hop on a call and discuss some of the areas you are considering more in depth. In regard to your questions above we would have to refer you to some of the public data or websites that are available to you. We love the city if you would like to chat more about it. L2HomeGroup.com/Moving-In-California
I would say, Elk Grove as you can probably count the homeless on both hands. But, we're getting an influx of bay area tech workers because of our housing development.
Hmm. I think crime might be increasing in all mid and big cities. But Sacramento is kind of like any other city....all depends on what part of town/metro area you are in. In general, if you are coming from Chicago, crime will be much lower that what you might be used to (can't say the same for nearby Oakland). I have lived in Oakland, Baltimore, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Birmingham. So crime in Sacramento (been here 16 years) is rather tame than what I am used to. Now homelessness is another story. I don't know the homeless situation in Chicago, but you will definitely see them here (and every other good sized city in California). I wouldn't say that it is as bad as it was during the Great Recession of 2008-10, but it is still visible. Now, I am just talking about the city of Sacramento....not necessarily the burbs.
I have a possible job opportunity in Sacramento where I would be making 79k a year my wife would possibly get around 40k. I'm just wondering would it be worth it with that type of salary
I think it would definitely worth a conversation. You would want to make sure you're comfortable with all of the numbers. Let us know if you would like to book a zoom call on our calendar here: L2HomeGroup.com/Moving-In-California
Uh, I lived in sac for 30yrs, it's never been an easy drive to the bay. Affordable? No. Summer is to hot. Granite Bay, etc. Are for rich folks. Not really sac. I left in 22 and never looked back!
You guys are increasing home pricing here in sacramento. I make just over $100,000 a year and i cant even afford to own a decent home with my 3 kids. Smh
You forgot to mention one of the major cons and that's Sacramento is home to some of the worst drivers in the country. It's amazing the things you see some of these Drivers do on a daily!

Thanks for the insight, I definitely agree about the drivers, but I'm glad you've found a way to get around that issue!

Unfortunately, the homicide rate has gone up everywhere in the country (except for small towns).

watching from Fiji Islands, Is there any way i can also move to Sacramento. Any advise!
Everyone’s situation is different. I know sometimes people need work visas but it just depends.

I grew up in sac it hasn't been affordable since the mid 90's
Most places are like that
Pros, it's getting worse but at a much slower rate than SF.
Lobbyists should be a con. Also mosquitos have not bothered me for about 15 years, since I stopped eating animals. Something to think about.
I don’t think that I could give up meat, but that it interesting if there is a direct correlation to mosquitoes. Thanks for watching and commenting
Pray for this state and the kids🙏🙏🙏 Cali is 💩💩💩

Sacramento - bigger and better than Stockton! 😂
