My son is a cop and when his gear is loaded into belt loops and he carries approximately 50 pounds extra.
@@anicecoe1426women are smaller so it’s lighter. It’s still really heavy, but the vests are physically smaller so they can’t carry as extra on it. Still probably like 40 pounds though.

I'm not a cop (of course, I'm a minor) but I am a police youth explorer, so I wear a uniform, with some gear. I have a belt with a fake (training model) gun and Taser, a flashlight, a radio and handcuffs on it. It's heavy! I couldn't even imagine what the whole vest would be like. Especially running or jumping in it

I love seeing L.E.O's in uniform showing kids that they are humans to... Also builds a bond with the community... When I was in high school, I lived in a trailer park. The owner of the park worked as one of the two deputies who did atv,boat and snowmobile patrols... And yes he was my snowmobile safety instructor... The only deputy that was more well known then him and his partner was the school resource officer that was also the D.A.R.E officer....

It always cracks me up when ppl dont know what they're talking about. The vest armor is like between 5-10 pounds depending on their setup. Im assuming she got lvl3A armor or lvl3 panels which are not heavy. Tac vest usually weighs 3-5 pounds. Radios are like 1-3 pounds. Mags are like 1.5-2pounds. Taser doesnt weigh anything so its not even that close to 30 pounds. Now if it looks like they're wearing more kit than vest. Yes, those are wayyy over 30 pounds. I should know because my kit is around 30 pounds and its loaded with mags.

Im proud of her carrying the extra 30 pounds of weight. And interacting with the kids. I wish I could do that. i have about 70 extra pounds. If i got all of this bouncing around, they would swear the whole state of Texas was having an earthquake.
