I fly with my DJI Phantom 3SE.. in windy conditions, i.ve noticed that it has to work harder to stay in position. Flying such conditions in my opinion doesn't seems to be any different than usual, only thing is that the battery drains a bit faster than normal ;)
Thank you! You have no idea how grateful I am... My drone max distance was 250 meters with max hight around 100-150 meters. Now 300 meters up in the sky without any connection lost warnings and up to 2km distance. Amazing... Many thanks to Psycho Andy too! He`s the best!

Yeah, it is quite a pity to see more and more restrictions to be applied with new app versions :( On the good side - there's nothing bad staying at a bit older version and enjoying much greater range.

Yep, Definitely stick with the AUNA. I'm from Australia and obviously like to see "Aussie Made" gear getting promoted and marketed, however, facts are facts and the AUNU definitely sounds clearer and seems to filter out the natural echo in the room you are in.

Hi Martin! Yeah, this should work on every kind of DJI controller. SOmetimes DJI like to bind the firmware version with a particular version of the app. If that's the case - do as it is described for the Mavic Air, just use the DJI App for Phantom 3 Instead - ruclips.net/video/0gySNYwWhtc/видео.html

Yeah, the original EU range is quite bad, unfortunately. I am afraid I am not aware how to do this on iPhone :( Some people have tried and succeeded, but I do not know whether jailbreak is needed or something similar. Perhaps, if there is a Fake GPS app it will work similarly.
Hi Tech4All, please can you help me as I have tried several times to set it up but could not get switched my dron DJI Phantom 3 SE to FCC mode, it only shows 11 channels before I connect app to wireless network but than it automatically switches itself to 13 chaneles. What I am doing wrong? And also the link with apps in point 3 I could download but could not open. I used app from Play store DJI GO before P4. Thank you very much for sugestions.
Hey Rasti - I don't think I can help much since these versions are fairly old already. You can try the approach for switching to FCC as we do for Mavic Air - to use the normal app and use the Fake GPS app to trick the remote you are in another region.
It should work on it, yeah. When you use the FakeGPS app and you open google maps does it show your real location, or does it show that you are in USA?
Question. Do you think if i do the same fake gps thing would work for the spark? I mean spoof the location for dji go 4 app and point it to USA. And then just not change the location when the app asks you to.
It was blank, because that part of the video I did at home, i.e no GPS. There is absolutely no impact on maps, return to home or anything else related to orientation. Just the transmitter works at higher dbs :-)
Hi again. About your video on changing to fcc mode for the spark, it worked untił the latest update of djigo4.But i have the impression dji improved the range in EC mode since then, only a red message "video transmission weak"apears, but the video still comes true. Anyone has noticed this?

That is bad news about the maps... Maybe you can try jumping back to the latest app version and just hit "cancel" every time it wants to switch WiFi settings in order to preserve the FCC mode.
3.1.8 is the safe one. Likely the newer versions will ask you whether you want to switch to your regional WiFi settings. And if you always hit "cancel" it will keep the FCC mode. There haven't been too many big updates in the past few releases, so staying at an older version is not that bad.
Do you have to repeat this process each time you fly? 🤔 Also, if the aircraft thinks its in USA, what Will happen if it loses connection and needs to return home? Will it fly home or think its flying to somewhere in the USA?
Hi! And thanks a lot for this question! If you use the older version of the app as suggested there is no need to repeat anything, just open and fly :-) As for the FCC mod - the device that thinks is in the USA is only the transmitter, because it feeds its GPS data from the phone and according to it switches to less or more powerful transmission. The Drone relies on its own gps module, so it is supposed to come back to its recorded home point and will not try to travel overseas :D I am running this mode since I had the Spark and never had issues. This particular one belongs to a fried and no issues either.

It will not. The DJI Go is used now for the older models, while the DJI Go 4 is used for the Mavics and everything newer. For the DJI Go 4 the procedure is quite close to the procedure described here: ruclips.net/video/HJRMlHabawg/видео.html My honest opinion is that the Mavic Pro will be fine without any mods even in CE mod - it uses a very modified wireless stack and it is able to achieve good range no matter what.
can the real GPS data used anymore or does the fake gps be launched everytime before opening go app? same can the app reach internet anymore so that no fcc will be disabled?
The Fake GPS app is used only once - for switching to FCC. After that, if you used the older DJI GO app it will not prompt you, neither will it return to CE mode. Internet access will have no impact there, so do not worry about it :-). As for the GPS data - the drone will use real GPS data based on its own gps - return to home and everything else will be working fine.

Hey TechByte, sup! :D Indeed, the Auna is way better. At least the impression after a few random tests on different players. My friend was super happy. We did that just after the new year, while we had some time to spare and test. Looks like there is some interference between his Note 4 and the TX, but in most of the cases it was working flawlessly. He didn't believe it is possible to fly further than 200 meters and having lower expectations sometimes makes you super-duper happy once things get significantly improved.

Only one thing when i deleted the folders and the app and downloaded the 3.1.8. version, when i opened the 3.1.8. version of DJI GO I couldn't see my bands in the Wi-Fi section. Only the username of the drone and the password. Am i still in fcc 2.4ghz? Hope you could help me, Kind regards
I hope the thread is still active. I have followed all the steps and tried several times. each time I get the message of the dji go app that no gps is active and I need to enable gps. even activating itself brings nothing and the map remains empty. I use the Phantom 3 prof. 4k

Yes, it does. The RTH function depends on the GPS in the drone itself, an the fcc mod affects the Transmitter - it just makes it think it is according to another country's standards. So no flyaways will be caused by that :-)
Is this working on the latest dji phantom 3s firmware and where's 8 step link and can you put the firmware link for dji phantom 3 standard if latest doesn't work :D?

Ouch :( Pretty unpleasant. I have heard from many friends about having the DJI app crashing. Never happened to me so far (OnePlus 3), but looks like many other Android devices are affected. I have a friend with Samsung Note 4 and he had a lot of issues. ALthough Samsung devices are usually well tested by DJI. Hopefully your problem will be solved! :-)

WHich version of the app do you use? Also, the dji go4 app uses the gps from the drone and it is not related to the fcc mode. What will confirm whether you are or not is the amount of channels.
I downloaded and installed 3.1.23. When I opened the app after a few seconds it looked for a resource file that couldn’t be found. Any idea what the problem is?

Hey Charline, I am not sure! Likely if there is a way, the iPhone may have to be jail-broken. I've never owned an iPhone and it is difficult to say which would be the right steps to follow that. On a second look - there seems to be an app that may trick the iPhone about location - itunes.apple.com/us/app/fake-gps-change-gps-location-share-fake-location/id1192952446?mt=8 THe question is whether that is enough to trick the DJI Go 4 app about the location :-) Maybe you can try and let us know?
tech4all Hey, thanks for the answer, after doing some more research it is in fact only possible if the iphone is jailbroken. I have no ordered a pretty cheap samsung tablet which i will attempt to do the switch to fcc mode, i hope i’ll be successful bu following exactly your steps. Extremely excited to finally get some better connection and range on my Phantom SE! I’ll let you know how it goes :-)
tech4all i agree, the only issue i have really is the range, the drone starts loosing signal after only 280-320m in height which is really frustrating so i cant wait for this fcc mod :)
Auna definitely :) I have been successful in so far as switching to FCC mode but when I then install 3.1.8 (having deleted the older version and its folders) it doesn't give me the option of connecting to my SE. As soon as I install the latest version it spots I'm back in the UK and wants to switch back. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the mic feedback! As for the app - I haven't tried the old version for a long time now. If the new app is asking you to switch back - just select "cancel" and it will keep on using FCC. It works the same way on Mavic Air and Spark.
Hmm, Something has to be wrong. Let's start from a scratch. Install 3.1.23 and the fake gps app. Switch the fake gps, choose USA and then open the dji go app. It has to restart the transmitter then. If we don't go through this step, then it will stay in CE mode...
Thanks again ... I just tried it all again. First I reset it all back to the latest app and checked... then I did the steps above and this time 3.1.8 sees my 3 SE in the drop down selection and it hasn't given me the popup to switch back. Odd. Now I just need to understand how to get into the different flight modes, etc ...!
Hello Tech4All after update I can fly now 500m far (200before) and 230m up (160before) and than I'll lost connection but today when I was flying up to 230m I lost connection for 2minutes and I didn't see drone at all very good adrenaline

Hi Bill - it should be fine - just try it and see how it goes. The Return to home feature is based on the GPS inside the drone, so there won't be any flyaway :-)

Hi Bill, interesting question. As far as I know this drone doesn't support follow me... But if there is an option - no problem with enabling the GPS, perhaps it will not switch it back to CE mode. Even if it does, you already know hot to get back to FCC 😎

If google translate is good enough - then I believe that you are on the right way, The older version of the app won't bring you back to CE mode, and won't bother you with annoying questions about wifi settings. Good luck and let us know how far you can go! :-)
Thanks for the reply the new app does not ask you to switch settings it tells you like a tyrant! Its a shame DJI has done this to us when we payed the full price for the product but can only use around 20% of its limits . Do you know if we are able to switch between FCC and CE in litchi app?
MrArbeter - no idea about Litchi, I am afraid. I think we shouldn't blame DJI - they are among the few companies that play it fair by being compliant with the CE regulations. If you find an easy to apply working solution, please share it.
Most likely the fake GPS app doesn't do what it is supposed to do. There are some other fake gps apps, you may try one of them. Make sure the mock location in the developer options is enabled and verify the location is faked by ckecking on google maps.
That's just the saying. Like "In the case there is no...". The 5.8 range is not country-related. But it may be somehow affected by the changes implemented via later versions of the app. That's why it is worth giving a try,

tech4all no sir its not working anymore i get out my SIM card , turn off auto update , forget home WiFi network deleted old dji installed old version and i cant bypass auto update , still i somehow i rooted phone and bypassed update after whole night . Celestron_, the files will only work on Android device. I am so sorry I have no iPhone for testing :\ Maybe you can borrow someone's phone for 20 minutes and then carry on using an older version of the app on your iPhone :)?
And if you press the back button? If the prompt is appearing it means you are in FCC. Usually hitting escape / cancel is good enough - you stay at the mode you are.
Could be the version of the app... You can try getting it from apkmirror.com - sometimes there are two different versions, depending on the Android API level.
:( Pity that it won't work. How about trying with the latest version of the app and firmware and just the Fake GPS app, and applying that indoors, where no GPS signal is present?
at some point the app is gonna reboot itself yea well that didnt happen i wasted alot of time and effort and battery for nothing . After the different region window pops up the app just disconnects and it never restarts
This is because it is maintaining the frequency automatically. Nothing bad :-) You should be able to use newer version of the app too, however you are going to often see a prompt asking you to switch WiFi settings. If you always choose "cancel" you will keep the FCC mode.

That is weird - sounds like something messed up. Which version of the DJI go app did you use? There always is the option to do a factory reset for the wlan password.
That still counts - the Spark and the Phantom 3SE are having similar type of transmission - boosted WiFi, so the solution for going to FCC via iPhone will work on the Phantom app too. It is a group with a lot of members and topics, that's why I am suggesting it.
I just posted there and noone if finding a solution ive tryed power mode 5.3 but the step 2 gives and error , the problem with our trick is that i dont have a android device to get the .apk injection, but Im trying to install the blackstacks pc android emulator so lets see how that goes.

Definitely the Auna. It's a little less crisp, but it definitely reduces your room reverb to virtually nonexistent.

Most of the new versions work fine, it just always asks you whether you want to switch "WiFi settings" and you have to always choose "cancel".

Does the drone location still appear on the maps screen? The square is blank in the bottom of your screen.

My transmitter never rebooted. Why is that???
Could be that it is in FCC mode already, or you can try to do that manually.

That is bad news about the maps... Maybe you can try jumping back to the latest app version and just hit "cancel" every time it wants to switch WiFi settings in order to preserve the FCC mode.
Hi, Is there a newer version of DJI Go that can be used that won’t revert it back to CE mode, or will it only work on 3.1.8 ?
3.1.8 is the safe one.
Likely the newer versions will ask you whether you want to switch to your regional WiFi settings. And if you always hit "cancel" it will keep the FCC mode. There haven't been too many big updates in the past few releases, so staying at an older version is not that bad.

If you use the older version of the app as suggested there is no need to repeat anything, just open and fly :-)
As for the FCC mod - the device that thinks is in the USA is only the transmitter, because it feeds its GPS data from the phone and according to it switches to less or more powerful transmission.
The Drone relies on its own gps module, so it is supposed to come back to its recorded home point and will not try to travel overseas :D
I am running this mode since I had the Spark and never had issues. This particular one belongs to a fried and no issues either.

It will not. The DJI Go is used now for the older models, while the DJI Go 4 is used for the Mavics and everything newer.

My honest opinion is that the Mavic Pro will be fine without any mods even in CE mod - it uses a very modified wireless stack and it is able to achieve good range no matter what.
can the real GPS data used anymore or does the fake gps be launched everytime before opening go app? same can the app reach internet anymore so that no fcc will be disabled?
The Fake GPS app is used only once - for switching to FCC. After that, if you used the older DJI GO app it will not prompt you, neither will it return to CE mode. Internet access will have no impact there, so do not worry about it :-).
As for the GPS data - the drone will use real GPS data based on its own gps - return to home and everything else will be working fine.

You can try with an older version, and disable the automatic updates from the Play Store settings.

Indeed, the Auna is way better. At least the impression after a few random tests on different players.
My friend was super happy. We did that just after the new year, while we had some time to spare and test.
Looks like there is some interference between his Note 4 and the TX, but in most of the cases it was working flawlessly.
He didn't believe it is possible to fly further than 200 meters and having lower expectations sometimes makes you super-duper happy once things get significantly improved.

Hey! Thank you for this video! I have only one question. At Step 6 i got 11 channels so i am/was in fcc mode. Only one thing when i deleted the folders and the app and downloaded the 3.1.8. version, when i opened the 3.1.8. version of DJI GO I couldn't see my bands in the Wi-Fi section. Only the username of the drone and the password. Am i still in fcc 2.4ghz?

Yes, you should still be in FCC mode. I had the same thing with missing wifi bands in the app. You will easily guess by the range :-)

Yes, that trick should work on any DJI drone. Try with a different GPS fake app - some phones get along with different apps in a better way,

Does the return to home button work with this system?
Yes, it does. The RTH function depends on the GPS in the drone itself, an the fcc mod affects the Transmitter - it just makes it think it is according to another country's standards. So no flyaways will be caused by that :-)
Is this working on the latest dji phantom 3s firmware and where's 8 step link and can you put the firmware link for dji phantom 3 standard if latest doesn't work :D?
It should work fine with any firmware.
Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the 3standard firmware :(

Auna, I am hearing impaired I must wear hearing aids, it sounds leaps above the other. Video was great, love my SE lots.
The SE is perhaps the BEST bang you can buy for the money you spend - and the camera is fabulous :-)

Ouch :( Pretty unpleasant. I have heard from many friends about having the DJI app crashing. Never happened to me so far (OnePlus 3), but looks like many other Android devices are affected. I have a friend with Samsung Note 4 and he had a lot of issues. ALthough Samsung devices are usually well tested by DJI.

WHich version of the app do you use?
Also, the dji go4 app uses the gps from the drone and it is not related to the fcc mode. What will confirm whether you are or not is the amount of channels.
I downloaded and installed 3.1.23. When I opened the app after a few seconds it looked for a resource file that couldn’t be found. Any idea what the problem is?
Hm, rings a bell, but I cannot remember the solutuion. Usually cleaning the app data will help.

Hey Charline, I am not sure! Likely if there is a way, the iPhone may have to be jail-broken. I've never owned an iPhone and it is difficult to say which would be the right steps to follow that.
On a second look - there seems to be an app that may trick the iPhone about location - itunes.apple.com/us/app/fake-gps-change-gps-location-share-fake-location/id1192952446?mt=8
THe question is whether that is enough to trick the DJI Go 4 app about the location :-) Maybe you can try and let us know?

Using the tablet will certainly work :-) I believe the 3SE is among the most underrated drones ever done - its price is fabulous, so are the features.
tech4all i agree, the only issue i have really is the range, the drone starts loosing signal after only 280-320m in height which is really frustrating so i cant wait for this fcc mod :)

I have been successful in so far as switching to FCC mode but when I then install 3.1.8 (having deleted the older version and its folders) it doesn't give me the option of connecting to my SE. As soon as I install the latest version it spots I'm back in the UK and wants to switch back.

As for the app - I haven't tried the old version for a long time now. If the new app is asking you to switch back - just select "cancel" and it will keep on using FCC. It works the same way on Mavic Air and Spark.
No option to cancel unfortunately - it is a fait au complet. Ah well, keep looking for me I guess.
Hmm, Something has to be wrong. Let's start from a scratch. Install 3.1.23 and the fake gps app. Switch the fake gps, choose USA and then open the dji go app. It has to restart the transmitter then. If we don't go through this step, then it will stay in CE mode...

First I reset it all back to the latest app and checked... then I did the steps above and this time 3.1.8 sees my 3 SE in the drop down selection and it hasn't given me the popup to switch back. Odd.
Now I just need to understand how to get into the different flight modes, etc ...!

Hello Tech4All after update I can fly now 500m far (200before) and 230m up (160before) and than I'll lost connection but today when I was flying up to 230m I lost connection for 2minutes and I didn't see drone at all very good adrenaline

Sounds like something went wrong on the update of the transmitter (perhaps). DOwnload the assistant app and try performing re-install or downgrade.

Hi Bill - it should be fine - just try it and see how it goes. The Return to home feature is based on the GPS inside the drone, so there won't be any flyaway :-)

But if there is an option - no problem with enabling the GPS, perhaps it will not switch it back to CE mode. Even if it does, you already know hot to get back to FCC 😎

If google translate is good enough - then I believe that you are on the right way, The older version of the app won't bring you back to CE mode, and won't bother you with annoying questions about wifi settings. Good luck and let us know how far you can go! :-)

when ive downloaded the 3.1.23 it always tells me it has no resource file and needs a wifi connection, which then updates the app
In such a case - disable your play store auto updates temporarily and download the resource file only.
Oktober 2018 update this worked for until now . Now you will get unit map error when downloading older apk
In such a case we will switch to the newer version of the app and just hit "cancel" as soon as it asks about switching WiFi.
Thanks for the reply the new app does not ask you to switch settings it tells you like a tyrant! Its a shame DJI has done this to us when we payed the full price for the product but can only use around 20% of its limits . Do you know if we are able to switch between FCC and CE in litchi app?

When I turn on, the reciver and aircraft and connect to the installed application do not show me the wlan window.
Most likely the fake GPS app doesn't do what it is supposed to do. There are some other fake gps apps, you may try one of them. Make sure the mock location in the developer options is enabled and verify the location is faked by ckecking on google maps.

If there is no 5.8G Signal, then I doubt it is possible. Still - giving it a try is something you can do.
What does mean "if there is no 5.8 Signal"? What is "THERE": country, drone, smartphone, dji go app?
That's just the saying. Like "In the case there is no...". The 5.8 range is not country-related. But it may be somehow affected by the changes implemented via later versions of the app. That's why it is worth giving a try,

The Litchi app is quite nice and many people prefer it over the official DJI Go app.

Celestron_, the files will only work on Android device. I am so sorry I have no iPhone for testing :\ Maybe you can borrow someone's phone for 20 minutes and then carry on using an older version of the app on your iPhone :)?

And if you press the back button? If the prompt is appearing it means you are in FCC. Usually hitting escape / cancel is good enough - you stay at the mode you are.
A whole lot more echo on the second one. I think the Auna is a lot better at direction.

How about trying with the latest version of the app and firmware and just the Fake GPS app, and applying that indoors, where no GPS signal is present?
at some point the app is gonna reboot itself yea well that didnt happen i wasted alot of time and effort and battery for nothing . After the different region window pops up the app just disconnects and it never restarts
MrArbeter - the app won't reboot itself, the transmitter will. usually that takes less than a minute. The very same flow has worked for many others.

This is because it is maintaining the frequency automatically. Nothing bad :-)
You should be able to use newer version of the app too, however you are going to often see a prompt asking you to switch WiFi settings. If you always choose "cancel" you will keep the FCC mode.

There always is the option to do a factory reset for the wlan password.

No need to root - it requires Developer Options, which is a menu that appears on any phone without root.

I have a Phantom not Spark
That still counts - the Spark and the Phantom 3SE are having similar type of transmission - boosted WiFi, so the solution for going to FCC via iPhone will work on the Phantom app too. It is a group with a lot of members and topics, that's why I am suggesting it.
I just posted there and noone if finding a solution ive tryed power mode 5.3 but the step 2 gives and error , the problem with our trick is that i dont have a android device to get the .apk injection, but Im trying to install the blackstacks pc android emulator so lets see how that goes.
