I also got the arg tek and reached 1700m witout the patch. Do you choose 27dbm or just patch it. Other totorials open the settings and then choose 27dbi before step 1
Just want to say thanks @papatita ! Did the magic power on my Dji Phantom 3-4K today. Im in EU so before I could fly about 300-400m, today with patch I reached 1000m without issues! Smoother video and very great improvement on distance! Many thanks Papa! Works like a charm :-)
Holy crap. Wow. It works . I lost my nerve at 700 metres ( I'd never been more than 300 metres before) as I couldn't see the Phantom 3 Standard any more and brought it back. I had tried other videos for instructions but to no avail. Thank you big time
Also I had been using 24dbm as the standard default setting but I have been testing 27dbm for a few months now and it's absolutely fine for those who think it will heat up the rc that's nonsense I've spoken to more than one dji technician and when the dji phantom 3 first came out its shipped firmware was 27dbm right out the box so for anyone doing this mod choose 27dbm and also choose USA region and I say choose USA region because it does not have channel 13. The reason I say this is because after a lot of testing in the bo region setting channel 13 is unlocked and I found out that channel 13 actually bricks the rc or causes it to freeze so I do not recommend channel 13. So guys choose 27dbm and us region and do not look back. I am currently using 27dbm with my itelite dbs and I'm hitting 4000m plus with ease still had full video signal and had to turn back because of battery life. 27dbm is the way forward guys...
i live in the uk and all i can say is wow. First off i started off with stock antenna with the phantom 3 standard i was getting around 700m in an open field on fw 1.7.9 and outside my house i was getting around 350m, so i looked into this and found the argtek with the 10dbi so installed that and outside my house was getting around 550m and in an open field on beach etc i was getting between 1500m and 2000m with choppy video feed the further out i went video feed was always fine with the argtek up to 1000m but then would get very choppy but would still go alot further but with choppy video which i didnt like. so i started googling and found the papa tita mod and was always worried about my rc overheateing or even worse bricking my bird but with lots of research i see the magic power 5x version with 24dbm gain which is what i call the sweet spot anyway i am in ce mode and currently getting 17dbm. so i did the magic power 5 mod which was so easy to do and went smoothly first time. so i took my bird out for the first time outside my front doorstep with lots of houses around me etc and all i can say is wow it was like i was flying a new bird i was flying around 1000m with silky smooth video feed didnt chop once with full signal on both rc and bird and before i could only get 350 on stock and around 550 on argtek so i recharged and went to the field and i couldnt ask for better results i would only dare go 2500m and again the video was perfect and i could of easily gone alot further also the signal on controller was full, this mod is a must especially with the argtek, thanks papa tita. this is my setup phantom 3 standard fw 1.7.9 argtek mod with the 10dbi 5.8ghz antenna and 7dbi with the 2.4ghz antennas magicpower 5.x version hope this setup helps you guys
Thank you just a quick question are the default setting without going into the advanced settings. tx power 24dbm region (bo) channel (auto) this is just so i know my setup i did (this is just me being lazy so i dont have to check iwinfo?) and also which is better for uk (bo or us)
Thank you Papa Tita, you helped me, I made your process and when I was Flying at the first it didn´t work but after that appeared like disconected (I could control the aircraft), conected again and worked very well, the last problem that I have is I Can´t see what I record until I check the memory.
1.8.10 firmware and dji go app 3.1.10 with papa tita mod is an absolute dream of a combination I've done over a 100 flights I have not had a any errors in the app and this is the firmware I'll be staying on I'm going to upload some vids in the next couple of days but I'll be using litchi app as it allows me to record the screen when flying.
Hi when the 1.8.10 firmware came out I reverted back to stock through the magic power program so that my phantom was no longer patched then I updated the firmware to 1.8.10 then I applied the magic power mod again thanks
Mauricio Arnold connect your rc and aircraft as normal launch the dji go app the go in your camera settings and format your sd card that should solve the camera you must format it in the dji go app,
papa tita i would just like to say that your magic power 5 mod works absolutely beutiful with litchi 3.10.1 and phantom 1.7.9 FW everything is so smooth and stable ive done over a 100 flights with not 1 error. Ive also done many of flights with dji go 2.9.1 phantom 1.7.9 and although it works fine it just not half as good as using litchi and im just talking about normal flights without waypointd etc. i will only ever use dji go app for compass calibration, imu and fw updates as theres to many bugs in the dji go app itself.

Great easy to follow video. I've been successful but where can I see if it's changed to the FCC standard. I saw a video on RUclips but I can't find it now. Also when we get another firmware update from DJI does it wipe out the Magic mod ?
Anybody still responding here? I know it's an old video. Some of you may not even have the phantom anymore lol. But I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the magic power makes a huge difference in the United States? From what I've seen/read, the U.S. models already use the 27db. Btw, the one I'm referring to is my Phantom 3 4k. I also have the Advanced, I've had it out to a little over a mile and a half stock. and just bought the 4hawks antenna for it. I haven't installed it yet, but I will very soon. That should be more than enough range for the Phantom 3 Advanced. But I also wanna boost my 4k. And wondering if it's worth installing the magic power.

Papa Tita! So I have updated to the new new 3.1.2 dji go app and the latest version on the drone 1.8 or whatever and everything is working perfectly. My question is can your magic power work on the 3.1.2 app (re released 2 days ago to fix the rth home point ) and the newest firmware on the drone? Also I'm using 1.8.10 firmware and it works just as good 1.7.9 I've been using magic power mod for over 6 months now and from my trials and errors a fresh imu and compass calibration after the mod makes a word of difference in my opinion also the latest dji go app 3.1.10 works flawlessly with this mod on firmware 1.8.10 and also litchi works fine as well I think dji have done a good job with firmware 1.8.10 the bird is so stable at hovering and they have also sorted the compass error and fly away issues in previous firmwares so to me 1.8.10 is a must also the no fly zones are introduced but these can be disabled not that any1 would want to disable them. My dbs mod without papa tita I was able to get 3500m with nice video feed in uk on ce mode with papa tita on bo 24dbm I can fly 5000m+ but have to watch my battery but signal is full all the way. Guys if ur doing this mod just take your time disable all firewalls till the mod completes and make sure your firmware is compatible with the mod and also compatible with the dji go app or litchi and a must is a fresh imu and compass calibration after. This is my recommendation that I've found works well P3s 1.7.9 + dji 2.9.1 P3s 1.8.10 + dji 3.1.10 And in my experience the litchi app works perfect Without my dbs mod and just the stock antenna my range 2000 - 3000 with my windsurfer and papa tita mod :)

Hello papa tita, I was searching the internet when I found your post. Ive seen it everywhere how your method is the best and the great work you were doing (GREAT WORK!!) I am currently living in Spain, and bought it in Spain, and I dont know if my model has the CE or FCC. Can I use Magic5 with the lastest DJI Phantom 3 standard firmware (v1..8.10 ----> I think this is the last one)? There shouldnt be any issues right? Once I done your method can I keep updating my phantom to the last firmware or I would have to do your method everytime I update the DJI phantom THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
Eduardo Ruiz if you upgrade the firmware you will have to run magic power 5 again id also downgrade back to 1.7.9 because 1.8.10 has reduce the range massively and also there is a video lag bug in the latest firmware
marvon howsin hello! Thanks for the quick reply, I just did the magic 5.3 the other day and I haven't used it yet. What's the difference between the latest firmware 1.8. 1 and the previous one? I have no idea how to downgrade the drone. I just had it for a week or so and I have been searching the web for longer distance. Does the lag and reduce range happens to everybody or just some people and last but not least, is it papa faults like will it be fixed in the next magic power update or djis. Thank you very much :)
Eduardo Ruiz its the latest firmware thats the problem papas mod is fine the latest dji firmware 1.8.10 just dont seem stable everybody been having same issue video lag at short range reduced range and random in flight errors popping up on screen i was using 1.7.9 with no issues at all and with papas mod was my video and range was phenomenal anyway i updated to 1.8.10 out of interest and my range was awful also video lag and image transmission errors anyway i downgraded back to 1.7.9 and boom everything is perect again no lag no errors everything so smooth. i would not recommend upgrading past 1.7.9 because dji i restricting there drones and i believe 1.7.9 will be the the last stable firmware with restricted fly zones and restricted range. with papas mod it put the drones tx power up to the optimal power that dji originally had all there drones whem they first started out so its completely safe and everybody can enjoy the full potential of how these drones are meant to be so with the following dji firmware the magic power mod works flawlessly and my recommendation is 1.7.9 with the default magic power 5 patch which has worked wonders for me i know papa likes 1.5.7 with dji go 2.9.1 but most people cannot downgrade to 1.5.7 like me so i found that 1.7.9 works great if not better with 2.9.1 and even better with the litchi app which i use. downgrading is simple theres many of youtube vids on how to downgrade just make sure you take your time and 100% know what your doing before you do attemp to downgrade.

hey everyone, I'm trying to downgrade from the latest 1.8.10 or something to 1.7.9.... only thing I'm wondering is I've read how to downgrade the drone its self, using the sd card in the camera and bin files. But do you also need to apply this 1.7.9 to the remote controller ? does it need any downgrading also applied to it and if so how would i complete this ?

I was able to get to step #7 for the Magic Mod. Once I clicked on step 1 in Magic Power an error comes up saying it cannot connect to the RC. Any suggestions on how I can get the RC to connect? I followed the tutorial step by step I am not sure where I went wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not 100%, but I think the objective is to have, and choose the U.S. option, and use the fcc. I think it basically just removes the flight limits. And if you have a U.S. model (like my 4k, and P3A), it's already unlocked. So I'm not sure there's much to gain, but idk, I haven't tried it. I can get my 4k out to about/almost (I think around 4800ft) a mile, no mods. So it would be my question, will it actually do much good to magic power mine? Who knows, cause this is not a hot topic anymore, as it's about 3 years old. Most people probly got mavics n shit by now lol. I also get almost 2 miles with my Advanced. I know the Advanced or Professional are not part of the discussion, but I threw that in for regulation comparison with other countries.

When I turn on my drone and my RC and try to get wifi on my Windows laptop (to install Majic Mod) I get "Limited" notice in Wifi Area and the Network Settings says "No Internet"....how do I change it so that I get Wifi so that I can install Majic Mod?

Hallo om, sy beberapa bulannyg lalu memakai magic power, drone keadaan baik 2 saja tetapi setiap sy ganti baterai kenapa Firmware nya ikut berubah misal sy menggunakan batre no 1 firmware menunjukkan 1.9.20+ ketika memasang batre no 2 firmware menunjukkan 1.2.40+ dan terkadang kedua Batre tersebut FW menunjukkan N/A apakah bahaya sy takutkan hanya eror di hardware ny? Dan terkadang minta update dji go ny, mohon solusinya, trima kasih

Papa Tita Ok thank you l'm sure you made a good job for the software but in my case it did not worked. I reached only 30 m high and 150m range it was strange... I'm using 3.1.15 Dji go app and IPhones 5s. I reverted back to stock.

Papa Tita Same. I have magicpower 5 on newest firmware. I'm going to downgrade to 1.79 then re apply magic power tomorrow (hopefully) I'll update you on the progress! But from 4 friends who have flown today on new update (2 of us have magicpower 2 of us don't) all of us got bad interference error sometime during flight. My flight was horrible since the new firmware.
Papa Tita also since you probably know better than anyone is it bad using magic power with the newest firmware or without magicpower power because isn't dji firmware updates to fix issues and to help improve things. I dunno what It fixed exactly with the new firmware but if I can get great range with magicpower and 1.79 I would rather do that. What's your opinion. soon I'll b getting either a p4 pro or Mavic (tax returns) haha but for now. what do you think about the latest firmware does dji do it for a reason or is it just something we can b without since it's still relatively new. thank for your quick reply. subscribing and liking your videos I've watched almost all.
I don't know why DJI issued so quickly the latest firmware (1.7.9 to 1.8.1), I follow their progress doing testing on beta fw 1.7.82, 1.7.83, 1.7.84, 1.7.86 is finally released as 1.7.90 and indeed firmware 1.7.90 becomes the best so far
No Update. But it had already the lastest firmware. After reset of RC and Wifi everything works fine. I will try again the patch. The last step of troubleshooting was not working because when AC has only wifi when RC is on.
Hi again, the problem I have is that by trying to execute the program in step 1, it stops and writes: Configure telnet to RC, and stop several minutes and then writes this: Access violation at address 00000000. Read of adress 00000000.What can it be or what can I do? Thank you

marvon howsin i like default setting too, compatible with almost all devices, US or BO its just options there is no signifikan difference on range.
Last question do you recommend dji go if so what fw 2.9.1 or 3.1.1 or do you recommend litchi ??

Mauricio Arnold yeah try 27dbm and choose us region that should solve your issues

papa tita i would just like to say that your magic power 5 mod works absolutely beutiful with
litchi 3.10.1
and phantom 1.7.9 FW
everything is so smooth and stable ive done over a 100 flights with not 1 error.
Ive also done many of flights with
dji go 2.9.1
phantom 1.7.9
and although it works fine it just not half as good as using litchi and im just talking about normal flights without waypointd etc. i will only ever use dji go app for compass calibration, imu and fw updates as theres to many bugs in the dji go app itself.

Anybody still responding here? I know it's an old video. Some of you may not even have the phantom anymore lol. But I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the magic power makes a huge difference in the United States? From what I've seen/read, the U.S. models already use the 27db. Btw, the one I'm referring to is my Phantom 3 4k. I also have the Advanced, I've had it out to a little over a mile and a half stock. and just bought the 4hawks antenna for it. I haven't installed it yet, but I will very soon. That should be more than enough range for the Phantom 3 Advanced. But I also wanna boost my 4k. And wondering if it's worth installing the magic power.

My question is can your magic power work on the 3.1.2 app (re released 2 days ago to fix the rth home point ) and the newest firmware on the drone? Magic Power can work on firmware 1.8.1
Also I'm using 1.8.10 firmware and it works just as good 1.7.9 I've been using magic power mod for over 6 months now and from my trials and errors a fresh imu and compass calibration after the mod makes a word of difference in my opinion also the latest dji go app 3.1.10 works flawlessly with this mod on firmware 1.8.10 and also litchi works fine as well I think dji have done a good job with firmware 1.8.10 the bird is so stable at hovering and they have also sorted the compass error and fly away issues in previous firmwares so to me 1.8.10 is a must also the no fly zones are introduced but these can be disabled not that any1 would want to disable them. My dbs mod without papa tita I was able to get 3500m with nice video feed in uk on ce mode with papa tita on bo 24dbm I can fly 5000m+ but have to watch my battery but signal is full all the way. Guys if ur doing this mod just take your time disable all firewalls till the mod completes and make sure your firmware is compatible with the mod and also compatible with the dji go app or litchi and a must is a fresh imu and compass calibration after.
This is my recommendation that I've found works well
P3s 1.7.9 + dji 2.9.1
P3s 1.8.10 + dji 3.1.10
And in my experience the litchi app works perfect
Without my dbs mod and just the stock antenna my range 2000 - 3000 with my windsurfer and papa tita mod :)

Eduardo Ruiz if you upgrade the firmware you will have to run magic power 5 again id also downgrade back to 1.7.9 because 1.8.10 has reduce the range massively and also there is a video lag bug in the latest firmware
marvon howsin hello! Thanks for the quick reply, I just did the magic 5.3 the other day and I haven't used it yet. What's the difference between the latest firmware 1.8. 1 and the previous one? I have no idea how to downgrade the drone. I just had it for a week or so and I have been searching the web for longer distance. Eduardo Ruiz its the latest firmware thats the problem papas mod is fine the latest dji firmware 1.8.10 just dont seem stable everybody been having same issue video lag at short range reduced range and random in flight errors popping up on screen i was using 1.7.9 with no issues at all and with papas mod was my video and range was phenomenal anyway i updated to 1.8.10 out of interest and my range was awful also video lag and image transmission errors anyway i downgraded back to 1.7.9 and boom everything is perect again no lag no errors everything so smooth. i would not recommend upgrading past 1.7.9 because dji i restricting there drones and i believe 1.7.9 will be the the last stable firmware with restricted fly zones and restricted range. with papas mod it put the drones tx power up to the optimal power that dji originally had all there drones whem they first started out so its completely safe and everybody can enjoy the full potential of how these drones are meant to be so with the following dji firmware the magic power mod works flawlessly and my recommendation is 1.7.9 with the default magic power 5 patch which has worked wonders for me i know papa likes 1.5.7 with dji go 2.9.1 but most people cannot downgrade to 1.5.7 like me so i found that 1.7.9 works great if not better with 2.9.1 and even better with the litchi app which i use. downgrading is simple theres many of youtube vids on how to downgrade just make sure you take your time and 100% know what your doing before you do attemp to downgrade.

Just to be curious how much range do you get with the 1.7.9 and magic power? I want to build the windsurfers antenna this weekend myself and I don't know if it will help with the magic power. hey everyone, I'm trying to downgrade from the latest 1.8.10 or something to 1.7.9.... only thing I'm wondering is I've read how to downgrade the drone its self, using the sd card in the camera and bin files. But do you also need to apply this 1.7.9 to the remote controller ? does it need any downgrading also applied to it and if so how would i complete this ?

I was able to get to step #7 for the Magic Mod. Once I clicked on step 1 in Magic Power an error comes up saying it cannot connect to the RC. Any suggestions on how I can get the RC to connect? I followed the tutorial step by step I am not sure where I went wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not 100%, but I think the objective is to have, and choose the U.S. option, and use the fcc. I think it basically just removes the flight limits. And if you have a U.S. model (like my 4k, and P3A), it's already unlocked. So I'm not sure there's much to gain, but idk, I haven't tried it. I can get my 4k out to about/almost (I think around 4800ft) a mile, no mods. So it would be my question, will it actually do much good to magic power mine? Who knows, cause this is not a hot topic anymore, as it's about 3 years old. Most people probly got mavics n shit by now lol. I also get almost 2 miles with my Advanced. I know the Advanced or Professional are not part of the discussion, but I threw that in for regulation comparison with other countries.

When I turn on my drone and my RC and try to get wifi on my Windows laptop (to install Majic Mod) I get "Limited" notice in Wifi Area and the Network Settings says "No Internet"....how do I change it so that I get Wifi so that I can install Majic Mod?

Papa Tita Same. I have magicpower 5 on newest firmware. I'm going to downgrade to 1.79 then re apply magic power tomorrow (hopefully) I'll update you on the progress! But from 4 friends who have flown today on new update (2 of us have magicpower 2 of us don't) all of us got bad interference error sometime during flight. My flight was horrible since the new firmware.

Papa Tita also since you probably know better than anyone is it bad using magic power with the newest firmware or without magicpower power because isn't dji firmware updates to fix issues and to help improve things. I dunno what It fixed exactly with the new firmware but if I can get great range with magicpower and 1.79 I would rather do that. I don't know why DJI issued so quickly the latest firmware (1.7.9 to 1.8.1), I follow their progress doing testing on beta fw 1.7.82, 1.7.83, 1.7.84, 1.7.86 is finally released as 1.7.90 and indeed firmware 1.7.90 becomes the best so far
After this patch my RC is green but recognise nothing. Also no Image at the DJI Go App. No change after set back to stock.

No Update. But it had already the lastest firmware. After reset of RC and Wifi everything works fine. I will try again the patch. The last step of troubleshooting was not working because when AC has only wifi when RC is on.
