    After recently swapping from a JPC 1.0 to an SPC, then seeing this...I'm starting to edge right up to a bit of buyer's remorse. The on board comms routing loops, the access routing, the admin pouch. Very cool.

    Love WTF. Never been a huge fan of their carriers but this seems like a big step in the right direction for them. Are the shoulder straps angled a bit or vertical like Spiritus does? Vertical straps have been a big gripe of mine bc most ppl don't have squared off shoulders, they're angled. So the majority of weight rides on the inner edge of the strap and will start to dig into my neck without really nice pads. The Ferro style angled straps are way more comfortable for me.

    I am really liking the design of this carrier. I haven’t handled this carrier so I’m not entirely sure but based on seeing this video I don’t think I would call it an AVS killer I would say it’s more of a gap Bridger between Load bearing carriers like the AVS and the minimalist carriers that have flooded the market. I think it can carry some decently large and heavy loads but not as much as the AVS but it can carry significantly larger loads than say the LV119 or more affectionately called by me the $300 overhyped piece of hot garbage. I think this fills a deficit between those two classes of carriers. I’m sure I’m going to buy one of these I was eyeballing the thorax but this seems to be a better design with features I like more than the thorax. Great vid BTW Derek I did have a question are they using a proprietary design back panel zipper system or what. I’m curious if Crye or spiritus panels would fit.

    • @EODFish
      @EODFish  2 года назад +1

      It is a proprietary panel. I haven’t checked zipper compatibility but best case the panels aren’t going to line up right like the rest of the panels in my recent video.

    im really hyped for this and will order one asap.
    Question tho:
    How is it an AVS killer?
    Why the AVS is so popular is because its one of the few carriers that isnt a sandwich design. (i.e the cummerbund attaches on top of the plates pressing them into you).
    The AVS is a Harness that Grabs you and simply holds 2 Plate pockets on Top of that. the WTF24 is not.
    This while looking amazing is nothing else but a sandwich carrier. it still presses the Back plate into you like any other plate carrier.
    When i first saw it i kinda wished they would make it so the Cummerbund interslots below the Plate on the back meaning you just have the Harness(cummerbund strapping around you and the Platebag sits on top of that like the AVS). now its just a Sandwich carrier with a cool Cummerbund.
    This is the same thing ive noticed with the SPC. yea it has the little slots at the front but thoose do nothing to add comfort like an AVS so i am always confused when people compare them.
    adding padding and Structure to the Back plate bag and then having the harness attach on the inside would be an AVS killer. (imagine an avs with just a cummerbund but you add a pad like an AVS1000 Pad below so you just have padding Hug you and the Plates just sit on top.
    Im gonna order one and get my own opinion on it but to me it just looks like back pain 8hours into wearing it. i had a FCPC but this looks honestly better than that for the money. the entire bags with their wire routing etc are just mind blowing. what do you think about a perma mounted zipper admin? worries about field repair?

      @coreytena2 2 года назад +1

      Great thought out question and would also love your opinion @eodfish

    • @EODFish
      @EODFish  2 года назад +7

      The cummerbund attaching inside the plates isn’t what makes the AVS different in my opinion. It’s just a different path to being a structured setup.
      The harness on the AVS is absolutely the best functioning structured setup on the market but it comes at a huge cost in bulk, rucking with an AVS is not fun at all.
      This system removes essentially all the redundant front and back bulk while providing the majority of the comfort derived from the harness. This is also why the SPC and the FCPC to a lesser degree are so popular.

    • @charlieghague
      @charlieghague 2 года назад +3

      Doing that adds a lot of cost and bulk to the system. I'm sure WTF considered it but decided to keep it more affordable and streamlined. They've been producing relatively simple and affordable carriers so doing a full harness type carrier prob isn't something they wanna do just yet. But this is a nice step in that direction.
