  • In this video, we review the Crye Precision JPC 2.0, Crye Precision AVS, Crye Precision SPC, Spiritus Systems LV-119, Ferro Concepts FCPC V5, Agilite K19, and Velocity Systems SCARAB LT plate carriers. We also share comparison data on the Qore Performance IcePlate EXO® Ultralight Ventilated Plate Carrier.
    Plate carriers are one of the most important kit decisions we can make when it comes to preparation for armed combat, but with so many plate carriers on the market today, how do you know which one is right for you and your application?
    Until now, there has been almost no empirical data collection on plate carriers with most purchasing decisions driven by subjective opinions and hype trends rather than hard facts. Our INSIGHTS technical plate carrier review series aims to change that. Enjoy!

    These videos started as a way for us to answer frequently asked customer questions about how to integrate our IceAge Ecosystem of performance enhancing thermoregulation and hydration tools with leading plate carriers on the market. As we started answering more and increasingly detailed questions, customers started to ask us for our opinions on their plate carrier selections. In an effort to remove any bias we might have, our format attempts to be as empirical as possible We avoid sharing anything that is subjective, qualitative, conjecture, or opinion. Instead, we stick to facts and science to provide you with the information you need to be the greatest version of yourself.

    I bought an agilite k-zero a few months back, super light super mobile, it’s a smaller system so it doesn’t give as much protection but it is so comfortable and the added mobility and speed I get with this system is very important to me, for me personally I expect to be using it when I’m evading and moving through the woods and trying to keep my load light while still having some protection. It also breathes very well.

I have ran the 6094 for almost 10 years now, and the last few years ive been using the G3 V2 and have been extremely impressed with the overall functions and capabilities . Ive ran some JPCs a few years back and of course i enjoyed them but i always go back to London Bridge Carriers. I liked the jpc for the low profile option and got the LBT low profile PC to wear under a split rig, and the Slick PC to run under clothing for scenarios where that was needed. Ive Always loved London bridges gear from the very first time i was issued some of their gear. Ive never had a single failure out of any product form them from the dozen PCs, Chest Rigs, Rucksacks, Day packs, and loadout bags. putting them through back to back to back deployments.. Their quality and customer service is aboce and beyond many companies.
    Id love to see how their products would perform with your meticulous testing and reviewing. Hands down even though you guys test to show the benefits and negatives of plate carriers based around your field of products its the best testing anyones ever done i believe to date. you clearly show what really matters when wearing kit and hammer home the importance of weight savings and how easily a great carrier can become a nightmare when retaining. water and sweat> There are too many people who only think about the looking cool or whats the biggest hype at this point in time instead of the things that actually matter. I see alot of ppl getting the k19 and i even looked at it and thought about it cause it looks cool, and comfortable but after your overview i am glad i didnt fall for that trap lol.

It uses more traditional construction techniques and commonly available materials (nylon, foam, etc.) already used by others like Crye, Spiritus, Velocity and Ferro. Only have two carriers and thats the SPC, and a AC1 from TRex. I like both, and happy with both overall for the prices I got them for.
    SPC seems like a carrier with maritime in mind compared to the JPC, but I do feel most would be better off with the JPC since the openess of the SPC can really cake up with muck and debris on a muddy day. And the 3 tier cummerbund gives you more options for attatching things compared to the two of the SPC. I like my SPC though, and only thing I hate about it is how much of a pain it is to readjust the cummerbund lol. Also I wish it was a 3 tier rather than 2 tier molle system personally. Also shoulder straps don't tighten down far enough for me, so I had to over bundle them making them cut into my shoulders more than by design intended it.
    The AC1 I use solely for conceal carrying plates and a firearm underneath my work clothes everyday. Dont put any accessories beside maybe a spare mag, or cuffs. But usually only have it for iiia plates and my firearm + pepper spray as I can completely conceal them in the cummerbund via a remora 2 in 1 +clip holster when I wear my work coveralls. Does great for that purpose of just carrying plates and giving you some options if needed. Had to modify the sholder straps to make it sit at a angle rather than just 90degrees cutting into my traps. not of fan how they didn't design it with some kind of cant for shoulders.
    Thinking of getting another carrier, for concealment like my AC1, but yet to find one I feel sparks the wallet just yet.

      We don’t have an opinion on any of these PCs. All of the testing data is simply empirical fact. See disclosures in opening segment of video, but where the PCs fall in the rankings compared to other PCs is a direct result of the design.

    • @QorePerformanceUSA
      @QorePerformanceUSA  Год назад

      We were also surprised by this because the K19 is so incredibly heavy in and of itself. As you can see from the data in the tables though, the margin is closer than one would think. With the AVS the weight is able to provide some load bearing benefit, unlike the K19 where the weight just means more heat retention and more bulk:

    From the list presented the best of 2022 is JPC 2.0. I wish you also included Haley Strategic THORAX

    • @QorePerformanceUSA
      @QorePerformanceUSA  Год назад +3

      We considered including the Thorax in the 2022 video. It uses more traditional construction techniques and commonly available materials (nylon, foam, etc.) already used by others like Crye, Spiritus, Velocity and Ferro. Thorax is a fine PC to be sure with quality construction. It just isn't the most high-tech, isn't the lightest, isn't the cheapest, etc. It isn't #1 in the world at any one thing.

    I have some of these, some that I think should've been on the list (my Firstspear AAC V2), between my T3 Trident Gear Tomahawk, Shellback Tactical Banshee Elite 2.0, Agilite K19, Firstspear AAC V2, and not one, but two Shaw Concepts ARC V2s, for price vs. performance, hands down my SC ARC V2s come out on top, with my Firstspear AAC V2 coming in a close 2nd (they are fairly similar, including their prominent usage of FS Tubes.)

    Surprised FS strandhogg hasn’t been mentioned as frequently, as a competitor - USMS and other high end users are issued. Arguably It is substantially more than other PC on the market , making it a lessor choice of those mentioned in the video
