@@I_am_a_cat_ It's an underground PS2 game. Maybe you're not old enough or if you're 22 y.o+ you just didn't get to play it. It was an online game and very famous in Japan back then but it didn't get much fame here in the west.

Tarkov is one thing, we need this to be continued. The obscure games and content from them are solid gold Sam, I remember being so excited to get this only to remember we had 56k and no friends with matching setups back then lol
the tragedy of Outbreak was that it was way ahead of its time in terms of coop gameplay. If it had com out 3 or 4 years later than it did it probably would have been wildly successful.
I cannot wait to see what Sam does with that random in-law’s ashes and by cannot wait I mean I am mortified by the notion of Sam using someone’s scorched remains for a RUclips bit.
In all likelihood, Abby or the dog will open it and think it’s Sam’s iconic dandruff collection and throw it away or mix it into a smoothie or something like that.

I remember I used to play this game a bit when I was a kid... I would never make it passed the initial stage and proceeded to wander around for hours just trying to piece together what the game wanted from me. What sequence of events was I supposed to do in order to progress? I imagine this might be what Hell is like but for eternity.
Same exact story for me. I got it thinking it would be like Code V, which was my first RE game, and ended up just being mostly confused.
I had #1 and 2 of this game and bought it along with a thick ass guidebook, not that I actually read through it as the kid I was at the time of buying the game, but more like just skimmed it, but even fully utilizing it as I got older, I'm still not positive if I ever completed an entire "scenario" ever.
Definitely stood no chance as a kid. I think I may have one of the times when I went back in like 2010, and if I did, I imagine I barely beat it. And it definitely wasn't the zoo stage or the lab one with the worm monster, I feel like I remember having a distinctly bad time with those, and kinda the bar/first scenario, it starts off easy but the difficulty ramps up fucking quick.
Always dug the plumber guy since combining items was neat to me and he's all about that, but iirc he may be one of the less ideal or just avg chars overall except for one particular, maybe 2 levels iirc.
Then Asian chick w the backpack since she had literally double the invy space as anyone else, 8 slots, so you could actually carry all the necessary keys and shit to complete certain scenarios.
Then closer to being an adult I only recall using the news reporter? Chick with the lockpick, which coincidentally vaguely looked like an older looking version of this heroin addict girl I was dating at the time.

Same the game made me so scared especially the zoo when the elephant comes in. I always tried to play RE as a kid I would get a too scared. It wasn’t until RE4 on the wii that I was old enough to not shit myself every time I played

Outbreak is so amazing honestly, the game was just so great to play online or with friends, I wish they released a remake on PC for it, shame it was forgotten in time.

I remember I bought a 20ft Ethernet cable that extended from my grandpas office to my room and connect to my PS2. It was my first time trying online co-op, I was super stoked. I made so many gamer friends in the Outbreak chat rooms, I remember I bought a USB keyboard to make typing easier lol. You knew someone had a keyboard when they were replying really fast. You were considered a “cool” kid if you had one. Very good memories from this game.

I think the fact that they got anywhere in this game, much less beat it, is the most impressive thing of this video.
The timing of that Game Over screen as Sam walks through the door was just comedic gold.

This has always been one of my favorite RE games. I play it on dolphin every now and then. If they remade this like they did 2 and 3 I'd be all over it

@@moneraa they stop fighting it after a while and you can really focus on the game. Plus you can keep snacks in its blow hole. Its really the best way to do it.

Just saw this, finalLY SOMEONE REMEMBERS! My dad randomly got this game despite me having never playing a Resident Evil Game before, and it stuck despite the fact I had no idea what I was doing! I mostly kept trying to kill zombies, because I didn't understand you're supposed to conserve ammo and run away instead.

I bought Outbreak One way back after playing RE4 for the first time, being a stupid kid who thought they'd essentially be the same thing. I think I beat the bar scenario once, and that's the farthest I ever progressed
It didn't help that I had a fucked up copy that wouldn't save or load, and would take like 10 minutes just to load the title screen
I remember when this game launched. My friend and I were too excited for a multiplayer RE game. We read the books, we watched the movie, we played the games. What a time.
I loved the hell out of this game. This was actually my official first ever Online experience with console. Slim ps2 the good ole days!

By far, Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2 were my favorite of the franchise. Wish they would spit those babies back out on next gen with all the original greatness of those great game experiences.

I remember getting this game for my 8th birthday and boy was I scared playing it. Also not being good at english and thinking at that time got me stuck in the barhouse for a solid year. When I finally unlocked second scenario boy was I happy, and then more scared. Shame I dont own the game anymore, would love to finish it now that Im somewhat better at thinking.

For just blowing off time, I heard that setting up Outbreak to work online takes a while and is complicated to set up, I'm impressed they actually played it!

2023 & im still waiting for a remaster, remake, or port or hell, even file 3. This is ridiculous they at capcom are either out of touch, or hate money. They could literally make millions treating outbreak remaster as a live service game & add skins or a new scenario in a dlc & we’d pay. Smh
