I have to agree with other people who've said she looks like a Disney Channel character (I kept thinking Lizzie McGuire). The outfits make no sense in regards to the pairings and the money issue. There are too many context clues to dismiss Emily's clothes/bags as just fantasy. From coworkers calling her basic (in very expensive outfits), the nanny being an heiress but Emily wearing things well out of her supposed budget, a fashion designer not commenting on those designer clothes, and the whole bag charm thing, it makes no sense. And in regards to that bag charm, they should have either explained how Emily had a lot of money now or she should have had that "sentimental" item attached to all those Chanel bags. I have a keychain charm I've owned for 16 years, and I still use it because of the memories I have with it. Not to mention where does she keep all these clothes in her small apartment?! If she's renting them, as some have speculated, that should have been mentioned and can you rent high-end items in Paris? I don't know. And if she is renting them, that's gotta be expensive too and you'd think she'd be renting outerwear or accessories, not whole outfits. There should be staple items in her wardrobe we see consistently. In regards to the idea that she's supposed to play a quirky, out of touch American, then we should be seeing her in things from Anthropology or H&M or something, or she should be in a lot of tacky branded pieces. I honestly think nobody put any actual thought into her clothing, it was just "we have a pretty, thin actress we can put in anything, so we'll just do that."
I can't help but think Luke purposefully missed Emily's Paris skyline bra that makes an appearance in episode 6. I was waiting for his comment!! Please keep show style reviews coming.
It would be more exciting if she started out with more bland looks and as she explores the city/fashion her looks get bolder and more colorful. I think their main focus was for people to talk over how nauseating the whole season is style wise and it worked.
Patricia Field is a costume designer for Emily in Paris. Previously she was costume designer for The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City. Hope season two will bring some good fashion moments.
I kind of wish you did a bit more research on Patricia Field instead of referring to her as "the costume designer" - it feels off-brand for you and considering she's so renowned, it would've been helpful to contextualize her work, even if she blew it with this show. (Also love the video and the work you do, just a minor observation)!

Clothes aren't always there to look good in screen but to tell a story and I think it just fits her character because she doesn't really care about the culture
Idk that’s how some rich Asian ladies I went to university dressed. It was the Fendi monster and givenchy Rottweiler era - disgusting. Money ≠ Taste
Season 2 of Emily in Paris is going to be ah-mazing, because you are going to style it! (Love your fashion knowledge and references!)
1 minute early, and I still have to write a historical fashion study essay on skater culture and streetwear 😂🖤
Loving the subtle crossover with the middle kid hat 😌
Would love for you to break down the outfits in "Younger", too!
I honestly think nobody put any actual thought into her clothing, it was just "we have a pretty, thin actress we can put in anything, so we'll just do that."
this was commented on the other video but pls do blair waldorf P L E A S E , we need haute lemode x gossip girl
okay i watched the video i see u have it in mind thank god
Since your last video I watched the entire season now I’m ready hehe
Please do a gossip girl fashion reviewww
OMG your Middle Kid hat
We love the middle kid representation.
Luke you outdid yourself with this 2 part series, it was really funny and fun to watch 🙏🏼❤️
Did Chanel sponsor this show? How much did they pay Netflix to make a 3 season commercial?
I can't help but think Luke purposefully missed Emily's Paris skyline bra that makes an appearance in episode 6. I was waiting for his comment!! Please keep show style reviews coming.
It would be more exciting if she started out with more bland looks and as she explores the city/fashion her looks get bolder and more colorful. I think their main focus was for people to talk over how nauseating the whole season is style wise and it worked.
your french is always cracking me up ily
Pleaseeee comment on the outfits of Netflix “The duchess”. They were quite fashionable!
yess! katherine ryan was great in that omg 😍
heyyyy middle kid merch!! the font on that hat is awesome
Yes, please! This is exactly what I need on a Monday!
I just said the same thing 😂
I love when you do these kinds of videos :) So excited for the Gossip Girl reaction vid!!!
I need to see you review The Devil Wears Prada!
Patricia Field is a costume designer for Emily in Paris. Previously she was costume designer for The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City. Hope season two will bring some good fashion moments.
Pls analyse Villanelle's outfits in Killing Eve (if you've seen it)
thissss
"Full of Effort" is the perfect description for these outfits.
He did in part 1
@@bryannabenicia846 Did he? If so I don't remember him going into any detail about it?
Yeah he did he say where she did work but that's it
Yeah he barely touched on her. As well as Sex and the City, I think she did Devil Wears Prada too didn't she?
it's so annoying that she goes to Paris and gets hit on every three seconds, and everyone else gets ignored??? I get she's the protagonist but why do they put in so many potential love interests? I'm confused
Please do killing eve next the outfits on the show are amazing!
Okayyy yessss Luke with the Peter Do and Middle Kid Trucker I see you supporting
