My brother and I still help with the phones and TV some, but a few years ago we just got to the point where we weren't really sure what to do with the computer, and they finally took it to a local repair shop. Now if it has an issue they just go there. It's so much easier. And it's a small family owned shop that's fair and reasonably priced.
My parents have been gone for over 15 years now. I wish I was still called to help with their phones, TV, DVR, and set the time on all the digital clocks. 😢
One of my parents is more clueless than this, and the other writes down passwords but doesn't update the written list when a password changes. Man, was this accurate.
The brilliance in this video is not to be understated. And the fact that you were at your parent's house and he was ranting about his phone...hahahahahahahahahaha I'm this son for many family members, but I don't mind the excuse to spend time.
... ... ...THIS... ...is so accurate, so beyond-description of how exact these times are in real life that I gut-laughed, angry-cried, and maybe even experienced a flash of PTSD. ...Good on ya, Miles. 🤣🤙
My mother just confessed to me that a few months back, they were literally on their way to Best Buy, with some scammer on the phone who told them not to hang up, to walk them through buying an Apple gift card to "fix" their computer that was sending out viruses. They don't HAVE a computer anymore. Apparently, they made all the way to the store before it dawned on them that "Apple" probably wouldn't be asking you to buy them a gift card. And that's when I realized my parents are old. She told me this while I was "fixing" their soundbar. I don't even need to say what was wrong. You all know already.
I saw a guy that looked to be about 60 at CVS a while back trying to buy gift cards of some type, and I heard him explaining that he had to buy these gift cards as payment to the "IRS" if I remember right...obviously a scam. The cashier lady recognized what was happening right away and was going through the whole 9 yards telling him it's a scam. I never thought I would see someone fall for one of these scams in real life. I guess it happens all the time though. I'm glad the cashier lady helped him out and stopped him from falling for the scam.
At one point when I called my mom it would go straight to voicemail. If just hangup and call dad. After 2 or 3 times of this happening I asked if her phone was OK. It was, except we figured out she had blocked my calls...and she couldn't figure how to take me off the blocked list.
I set my mom up with a password manager, the idea being she only has to remember one password which will then let her access all her passwords. She forgot the one password.
I was at my grandparents last week and before I left he asked me to figure out WiFi connection to 4 different devices and setup the printer haha extended my stay by an extra hour. Got to love older folks and technology
The input button. . . I can't tel you how many times I've told my Mum and grandmother to press it. Sure there are 3 HDMI settings, and if you don't remember which port it's plugged into, you're going to have to check all three. . . Side note: Anyone else have a PS1 and feel like a master electrician when plugging that thing in, as a child!? I felt accomplished! (Even though it wasn't hard.)
I work for one of the big three Cell Phone carriers. This is literally me every family gathering and every day of work for you who don’t help your family when it comes to phones 😂
Yup .. last night my Auntie saw my phone had a winter type walllaper-showed her how change hers, cleared a ton of tabs she had of random stuff, taped notes to the remotes 'hdmi 1 is dvd', etc. Super relatable vid (lol Iam over 50 😉)
Not only is this 100% accurate on every visit, chef’s kiss at the end was my mom’s ring tone. Because you know parents don’t keep their phone on silent.
I swear, the older I get, the more pissed off and unenthusiastic towards learning new technology. I'm only 28 and have a B.S. in cyber security. I hate new technology.
Hilarious! because I am in the middle. My sons have to help me, I am 56. And we all have to help my parents, in their 80’s. They can’t remember how to turn the ringer off on their LANDLINE phone, but I can’t figure out the big TV without son’s help. LOL
Accurate af. Last night I had to show my dad how to take a screenshot and it was the funniest thing ever and he got so angry 😂😂😂😂😂 I had to explain it to him like 5 times 😂😂😂😂 he just kept getting angrier the more I laughed lol.
Reminds me of the Middle Aged Man skits from SNL with Mike Meyers. His father, Retired Man, and he only difference between them is Middle Aged Man knows how to program a VCR. Can't quite relate though what with being raised by an electrical engineer who's been tinkering with electronics since the 70s. Still good, though.
I once bought my dad a 4k tv for Christmas and he couldn’t even figure out how to set it up even tho there’s a manual in the box on how to set it up and the tv usually walks you through the process 😂😂😂😂😂 long story short I had to set it up for him
Lol, sounds like my friend who got Nana and Papa a new mattress for Christmas but they didn’t feel like switching it so it sat for 2 years without them using it.
My dad is 80 and gets so frustrated with his Iphone. But he also won’t let anyone help him either. Sometimes I get weird messages or a random FaceTime and I will check in with him and he will not even know he did something. He usually just says “I have no idea how this thing works!” 😂
Every time I have to reset my parents password, I just set it to a single password I remember. So when I inevitably have to help my dad log in a year later, I don't have to go through the same conversation about how he doesn't remember the password.
every month or so never fails- " Brian, can you look at my email?" " I can't log in" me- whatever mom, I'll look- switch user and 100% fixed. " do not close this tab ever again!!" " and you see this circle right here? since you have 2 goddamned email accounts this switches between them". " next time, I am charging because this is ridiculous!".
My mom wanted me to “make the computer go faster” next time I visited. I told her that her computer was old and she needed a new one. She said “I don’t want a new one, I want this one to be faster and work better”
My parents couldn’t even figure out landscape mode from portrait mode on the iPad I got em. Nor how to find the home button or power button. Now how to hold either in for a few seconds. That convo usually takes an hour on the phone & both on speaker plus teaching them again how to press the speaker button on their cordless phone.
I wrote my mom and dads email and passwords down and have it pinned on my wall by my desk. Also have a picture of it on my phone. Played that game waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times.
I love how he is both his father and the son and it seems absolutely plausible 😂
He is the spitting image of his father
What do you mean he’s both. Those are 2 different people.
it took me a long while to convince my dad that the email on his phone and the one on his computer are the same.
When I found put, I was amazed, lol
Lmao dude it was a whole fkn thing with my dad! It ended with me yelling so who's the dumbass. Lol
I started playing dumb and my brother is now the tech guy. I might look like an idiot but I'm okay with that.
I'm WAY dummer than you
😂
The closing line, “I’m actually at my parents house right now…”
😂😂😂😂
My parents have been gone for over 15 years now. I wish I was still called to help with their phones, TV, DVR, and set the time on all the digital clocks. 😢
🫶🏼 sorry
One of my parents is more clueless than this, and the other writes down passwords but doesn't update the written list when a password changes. Man, was this accurate.
This is hilariously accurate. I miss these interactions with my Dad so always remind yourself time with loved ones is finite.
The brilliance in this video is not to be understated. And the fact that you were at your parent's house and he was ranting about his phone...hahahahahahahahahaha
I'm this son for many family members, but I don't mind the excuse to spend time.
Man, I missed this guy. Hilarious!

Dude this is 100% accurate, I literally went through both the email and tv remote struggle with my father it went exactly like this.
At one point when I called my mom it would go straight to voicemail. If just hangup and call dad. After 2 or 3 times of this happening I asked if her phone was OK. It was, except we figured out she had blocked my calls...and she couldn't figure how to take me off the blocked list.

This is literally me with my adult children🤣🤣🤣
I was at my grandparents last week and before I left he asked me to figure out WiFi connection to 4 different devices and setup the printer haha extended my stay by an extra hour. Got to love older folks and technology
I'm impressed you got out after only an hour. . . . !? Were you lucky and they remembered all the passwords!?
The input button. . .

Dude, you freaking nailed my life exactly. 😂
Not only is this 100% accurate on every visit, chef’s kiss at the end was my mom’s ring tone. Because you know parents don’t keep their phone on silent.
You are so hilarious. And the glasses, just perfect LOL LOL
THIS IS SO ACCURATE- I can’t believe you captured it perfectly!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My grandparents were going to call a repair man to fix their tv. I switched the HDMI to “fix it” and they said I should go to school to be an engineer
Real comedy is based on real life, even if it offends somebody
I swear, the older I get, the more pissed off and unenthusiastic towards learning new technology. I'm only 28 and have a B.S. in cyber security.
I hate new technology.
This is so spot on it's crazy! This was totally Thanksgiving.
Hilarious! because I am in the middle. My sons have to help me, I am 56. And we all have to help my parents, in their 80’s. They can’t remember how to turn the ringer off on their LANDLINE phone, but I can’t figure out the big TV without son’s help. LOL
I wouldn't know how to turn a ringer off a landline.
This is 100% my dad, I've had this happen so many times
Im the dad. It happens to me all the time. Forget password then they tell me I can't reuse the same password?
It's a game for the young.
“I don’t know how”😂
hahahahahaha I just can't. I've heard every single line in this, un-ironically.
Real conversations I’ve had with my parents
The dad sounds like me and my husband with technology today.
This was just my parents with their phones and their tv (like just this past weekend 😂) bravo, perfect timing 👏
I knew this video was based on experience. It was too accurate for it not to be.
Wearing the glasses way down on the nose, and peering over them, is 100% accurate.
About fucking time you make some more dad content. It’s been too long
Make a driving edition with Dad!!!!!
I go kayaking. No remotes needed...
Mine has the issue with doubling clicking - *click pause click* “What do you mean I was doubling clicking!”
Accurate af. Last night I had to show my dad how to take a screenshot and it was the funniest thing ever and he got so angry 😂😂😂😂😂 I had to explain it to him like 5 times 😂😂😂😂 he just kept getting angrier the more I laughed lol.
OMFG. THIS.
💯%
Absolutely freakin NAILED IT.
I could feel my blood pressure rising for three minutes straight.
Sad but true, my daughter has to help me all the time😂
Dude that ringtone was so accurate
Every single day multiple times a day
The ringtone at the end got me so good😂
LMFAO BRO... I just finish setting up a ring door bell for my parents
That notification sound near the end. Why do they all use that one 😂 priceless love it!!
Way too relatable. Just need to add Thanksgiving into the mixed and you have complete chaos
The TV was literally my mom yesterday. She was stuck on Netflix watching peaky blinders for a long time.
A good show to be stuck watching, though.
Lmao me helping my dad setup the wifi on the firestick
Glad I'm not quite that dad yet, but that's definitely my son lol
This is my life with my mom
Dementia is a wonderful thing
I once bought my dad a 4k tv for Christmas and he couldn’t even figure out how to set it up even tho there’s a manual in the box on how to set it up and the tv usually walks you through the process 😂😂😂😂😂 long story short I had to set it up for him
Lol, sounds like my friend who got Nana and Papa a new mattress for Christmas but they didn’t feel like switching it so it sat for 2 years without them using it.
lol! Laughing every second!
I need a tech guy
🤣 yeah that’s what usually comes with dinner with the folks that’s how my pops gets me to do yard work
“Last time I asked her that I had to sleep on the couch” 😂😂
This is so spot on
It is the worst. Haha
I may not be up on modern tech, but when my daughter needs her car fixed, who does she call? (Dear old dad). Lol!!
I worked at a cellphone store for 10 years. I saw this all the time😂
I work in IT - And this is dead on the money when i go to my parents house
Loved the ending!
Hilarious... and SO accurate.
My dad is 80 and gets so frustrated with his Iphone. But he also won’t let anyone help him either. Sometimes I get weird messages or a random FaceTime and I will check in with him and he will not even know he did something. He usually just says “I have no idea how this thing works!” 😂
The "huh not bad" look in the middle of looking at your dads porn history is fucking hilarious 😂😂😂
😂 I’m fuggin dead, this is my dad lol
Almost anytime my son or grandchildren come over either my wife or myself have some technical issues for them to fix.
My 90 year old grandmother has just over the air TV and screws it up pushing the wrong buttons on the remote.
Why is this Dad guy just like my fiance? Less weird tabs, but still like 200 etsy tabs, then everything else follows exactly.
I had to get my mom into a zoom meeting. Holy cripes that was a long hour.
This was perfect!
Really though, WHAT WAS WRONG WITH BUTTONS?!
Every time I have to reset my parents password, I just set it to a single password I remember. So when I inevitably have to help my dad log in a year later, I don't have to go through the same conversation about how he doesn't remember the password.
Sharing the link to my dad so he can watch himself in real time
Dear god that closing tab part, ughhhhhhhggghh ughhh way too true
Yep, my mom and I were updating my dad’s IPad and we saw that he had 1/2 of his apps open so I closed them all lol
LOVE IT
MY DAD WEEKLY
next video- "the CLOUD" where is it?
as an isp tech i 100 percent stand by this video
This is so true. So so true....
every month or so never fails- " Brian, can you look at my email?" " I can't log in" me- whatever mom, I'll look- switch user and 100% fixed. " do not close this tab ever again!!" " and you see this circle right here? since you have 2 goddamned email accounts this switches between them". " next time, I am charging because this is ridiculous!".

I work in a library computer lab and this is what we do alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day but we're not related to the people.
Deal with this at least once a month. Lol
I honestly need therapy from trying to help my mom with technology. It's like dealing with a toddler.
So, when we were younger we remembered everyone's phone number, and we can't use that brain space to remember more than one password
I miss my dad
just gave my dad a computer, ill be going through this soon LOL
spot on
Duuuuuuude, I legit had to deal with this with my brother's wife's father😂
I wrote my mom and dads email and passwords down and have it pinned on my wall by my desk. Also have a picture of it on my phone. Played that game waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times.
This is my dad.
Just like my dad, but he would have less patience and get angrier:)
This is me once a month with my dad
Is Miles married or just the Dad character? Either way, congratulations! Lucky Sharon
He got married a few months ago!
