    I'll never forget my dad telling me that when he was working in PA a bear got into the back of his coworkers truck and ripped open their "bear proof" yeti to get some lunch meat. Never seen the point in getting one since

      Just saying if you actually look at any cooler that is listed as bear proof that rating is only good if there is a lock on it. Those rubber straps won't stop shit otherwise.

      @jamesrohner3792 I go camping in places with bears. Pulling your food up a tree is way better then a 400 dollar cooler that needs a 1 dollar padlock to actually work as intended

    I admit I did buy a couple of the coffee mugs. And frankly, I love them. The magnetic opening makes them easy to clean, and they'll keep my coffee scalding hot for most of the day. That said, I could never see myself paying for shit like their coolers/blankets/buckets. It's mostly a total racket.

    Okay - I work for people who buy YETI products. When your income exceeds a certain price point, it’s really hard to buy gifts!! 1) You can’t be too cheap, because you’re loaded. 2) You don’t need anything because you can easily buy what you need. So that equals “upgrading” normal products that make you feel fancier and like you spent enough money on the gift. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Easy explanation.

    While such price tags are ridiculous, I got a Yeti tumbler as a gift once and was immediately blown away by it. Got busy at work right away one morning and couldn't drink my coffee. It was still hot two hours later. Same effect for cocktails in the summer, the ice just doesn't melt and water down your booze. I'm kinda sold on these things.

      i get all sorts of knock off "freebie" type tumblers from work events that you can also just buy at the store. they work exactly the same. they just don't cost $30

      @@shawnpepin7890 For the most part yes. I do appreciate the lid quality though. The magnetic coffee lid is super easy to clean and the chug cap is very high quality and hard to break. I don’t doubt cheaper brands hold ice/heat just as well though.

    No joke, you guys got me into Yeti in a big way. We've got the Rambler in multiple colours, the lunch box, the Tundra, the Roadie - once you've got a few Yeti products its hard to stop.
    I draw the line at the bucket though, that's rediculous.

    I actually had a bear get into a cooler once. Dude drank 3 beers. Cans were full of bear claw marks. I still never thought I'd need a bear proof cooler after that. Was happy to donate 75 cents to the bear/beer gods.

    I have a knock-off Yeti cooler from Cabela's. About a fourth of the price, and can keep drinks cold for days. Great for road trips. I've dropped it all it's still in one piece.

    I saw a bunch of Yeti gear at my local Hunting store , thought it looked great. Walked over , flipped the tag to check price, then turned an walked away. Never to return to that section of the store again.

    We have two extremely large coolers that we take camping. One is a yeti the other is a Coleman. One of them doesn’t need an ice refill for about 5-6 days. The other needs ice every 2 days. I’ll let you guess which one is which.

      @@AB-nv7bz actually I think we paid around $400 for it. And the other was around $150. But the last time we went camping, ice was almost $3 per bag and we go camping for two weeks at a time. I have no idea how much we’d get gouged now for frickin ice, but I’m pretty sure it will pay for itself in my lifetime.

    This video reminds me of a very similar business philosophy where youtube content creators make silly videos about stereotypes of regionally specific things and places, then create clothing about said videos and sell shirts made in far away foreign countries to the same folks they created the content about at mark ups of 200-300%.

    Years ago I did some work for the YETI office building here in Austin, and hilariously it looks almost exactly like that inside. All the walls are wood paneled and it seems like they desperately want to look rugged and outdoorsy.

    Our Yeti cooler handle broke on our fist camping trip with it. Thank God it was a wedding gift. I would have been pissed off if I would of payed $350 for a cooler that broke the first time out. 😅😂😅😂

    I use a Lifetime brand cooler that’s their competition to yeti. It was $115 and it keeps ice for 5-6 days in Midwest summer. Great for camping trips. I can’t wrap my head around spending almost three times that much for the same performance. Those yeti stickers are cool tho.
