Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019) Flick Pick Movie Review - Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Margaret Qualley, Dakota Fanning, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Luke Perry, Maya Hawke, Damian Lewis, Emile Hirsch, Mike Moh. Directed by Quentin Tarantino. #OnceUponATimeInHollywood Развлечения
I gotta admit, the Brad Pitt creepy cult scene at the ranch had me on the edge of my seat.
Squeeky: Oh, he's blind
Me: Bitch shut up no he's not
Me later: wait he is blind
Nice Try Yeah we did, we got an awesome beat down. Tex was late. But I wished the Helter Skelter would've terrorized more, they had potential.
@Nice Try He played with our expectations & i enjoyed the outcome 👌
@@awesomeone2979 He thought that, but wow! A turning point to show Cliff, his caring/concern.
Best scene in the movie
I love the slow burn. It made me feel like was hanging out in Hollywood in 1969. I thought the movie was wonderful and was never bored.
Critic talking point, they need to let it go. Nice comment.
Me either. Second time I saw it, it flew by.
Had the exact same experience and wang to watch it a second time now \o/
@@patcurrie9888 but can we let go when it comes to Endgame or any other popcorn flick?
I loved this film. It sucks ppl don't like this film :/
The ending for this movie was beyond perfect.
YES!!
The rest was a piece of boring duki
“Don’t cry in front of the Mexicans” - Cliff Booth. This movie was amazing and had so much heart for a Tarantino flick. Truly a masterpiece. You cared so much for all the characters. 🍻
I like that quote too but what does that have to do with the rest of your comment lol
That was the only funny line in the movie
I didn't get that line🤔
I love the scenes with Brad Pitt just driving around LA and back in his trailer feeding his pitbull
That was really cool.
Every decent person wanted the Manson family to end up the way they did in this movie and for Sharon and her friends to live. If only .....
Django unchained is my favorite. It's like, I can't watch just one scene; I must watch the whole movie!
Geralt of Trivia have you seen Jackie brown, his only film that’s REALLY good
Django was nowhere near as good as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, or even Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Gabriel el tipo ese I never want a tarantino movie to end.
I know what you mean bro. I savor each scene with the classic Tarantino dialogue exchange 👍
Thats my favorite too! I enjoy the adventure and spaghetti western vibe.
I think this movie has a ton of re-watchability. One of the very few movies in recent years that I went to watch twice in the same weekend.
Same dude. I actually liked it more the second time, since I knew what I was getting myself into. Last time (I still loved it) I had no idea what this movie would be like.
Every time he Tarantino makes a movie, you just want to hang out with all of his characters and soak in every word they say because you like them so much. And it often doesn’t matter where they’re going or what they’re doing… You just want to be there. I don’t know of another director that has done something on this level before, in such a consistent way.
Very well put. His films are very immersive.
AMAZING WAY OF PUTTING IT -- INFACT PROBABLY THE MOST INSIGHTFUL COMMENT I'VE EVER SEEN ON RUclips AND AS A SCREENWRITER I'M WRITING EVERY WORD DOWN AS A GUIDELINE BECAUSE YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD.
“I just love movies like this because there’s moments that MATTER.”
I feel your pain John, I truly do.
All the Tarantino movies I’ve seen:
Pulp Fiction- So many memorable moments that just get you exited to see what happens next
Django Unchained- Great performances mixed with a great story and action scenes
Inglorious Basterds- Great dialogue and a crazy ending
Kill Bill- Insane action and it’s so good
Once Upon a time- Great characters and dialogue and the best ending out of all of the movies
Hateful eight ending is great too
Jackie Brown - Great storytelling, dialogue and a rarity in Tarantino's films... romance
@@legion24100 hatefull eight is great ive watched that one alot
All of his films have amazing endings
Brad Pitt is Fight Club good in this movie. And Leo is like Ed Norton in Fight Club.
They were great but the entire cast was great too
For me Leo was like Jordan Belfort in TWOWS... with a fucking flame-thrower!
@@AndroidCovenant I agree!
@@AndroidCovenant I was never a big Leo fan back in the 90s even Titanic which I did enjoy was not because of Leo. Then I saw Gangs of New York and was very impressed. Then came the Departed and I thought Leo was awesome. Then Blood Diamond, Shutter Island, Inception, Wolf of Wall Street, and the Revenant and Leo is now one of my favorites. He was truly awesome in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. So was Brad who also has many great films.
Just wanted to say I’m glad to see you back at it with the reviews my dude. Your presence has been seriously missed.
If you have a foot fetish, then this movie is for you. If you don’t, it’s also for you. Everyone wins
It's a really common kink, don't get the over exaggerations.
Feet GROSSS
I wonder how many girls show their feet in this?
I have my feet fetish, other people not so much. I guess I still win?!?
They got some nice shots of Margot robbies ass too
A more mellow and thoughtful Tarantino, it's a love letter to late 60's LA. Loved it !!
Yeah. I never expected to find a Tarantino rather emotional, but this definitely was. I know he conferred with Debra Tate throughout the making of the movie. Keeping that in mind the second time I saw it, it became rather clear exactly who he made this movie for.
Just got back seeing this. Fucking loved it so much. The 60s feel was so amazing. The environment, the music, cars, etc all loved it. Plus the ending was so fucking fun. Possibly my favorite Tarantino movie next to Pulp Fiction.
Who else have friends who do not know another director than Quentin Tarantino?
It's either Quentin Tarantino or Wes Anderson, as for me I go with Charlie Kaufman.
No I don’t have out of touch friends
Nope my bestfriend is pretty intune with directors makes for good conversation. R.I.P to those that dont.
I have friends in mid places like Applebees
So much for him being a kult filmmaker.
Did this film just bring johns faith in humanity back

Kratos he’s so lazy when it comes to uploading a video
Kratos he usually does videos when he gets a sponsor
Sometimes you guys should appreciate how much effort it takes to create a video.
@@maxalserda9127 fuck off if I got paid to make a damn youtube video Im putting out 12 a day...
Joel Barish At the movies agreed
A bit of a slow burner but even that I love the movie. Pulp fiction is still his best movie so far.
Ayyy the main man is back - great video John! Another reason to love Tarantino’s films 🎉
Great review John! While it may not be the best Tarantino film I really enjoyed watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I love the attention to detail with the era. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt were great. I love the third act of the film. One word...Flamethrower.
ladies and gentleman John actually uploads a movie review video now if he can actually do more of those more often that be great also upload your spiderman far from home review
Great review John. I have been so hyped for this film since I heard about it. Can't wait to see It.
John J! It's good to see another video from you! :D
Honest review. I love how everybody bitching about the run time at 2:41 when nobody bats an eye for 3:02 for Endgame, multiple show watching too. It's an art house comedy/fantasy and the movie showed a timeline of the days leading up to that horrific day. That time was meant to show how sweet Sharon was & how wacky the Manson family was.
20 boxes of Red Apple cigarettes were consumed in this movie .
So happy you enjoyed it. Dosent come out until August 16:th here in Sweden
I really enjoyed the movie, I'm a huge Tarantino fan and I felt satisfied seeing it in a theater. My personal favorite movie of his is Inglorious Basterds. What's your favorite movie of his?
Mine was Kill Bill for the longest time, but for me personally it’s Inglorious Basterds!! Love almost every character in it and the script is next level 👏 no one stood a chance against Christoph Waltz that year from his milk scene alone 👌 love nearly all his films though, one of the few directors around that you can tell loves film!
Inglourious Basterds.
Watched this last evening at my local movie theater, and wow, I was totally blown away by how Tarantino managed to capture the late 60s era. Yes, I agree, this movie is very tiring near the second act ; the first and third act are the only ones worth watching . Great acting - Brad Pitt, for example, killed the role of portraying as stuntman - and some cool scenery shots. However, as some stated, I don't think this is his best film. I don't hate the film nor see it awful. In my opinion, it is one of the better films to watch in 2019. I also think this film is sided with Django Unchained, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, & Inglorious Bastards. This is my perspective
“Quentin Tarantino loves feet”
You’re just noticing this now? I feel like he’s been parodying himself with these foot shots for the last 3 movies
Not to mention there’s that picture going around of him at a Hollywood party sucking on an underage teenager’s toes.
He didn’t have any foot shots in the hateful 8
captainnayr so if I told you I drink everyday except sundays would you say I’m NOT an alcoholic?
Stuntman Mike I’m just observing the fact that there were no women’s foot shots in reservoir dogs and the hateful 8. I know some alcoholics btw.
captainnayr lol so do I buddy, so do. I .. good observation thank you for those little tidbits
I want the two hour unedited version of this review
5 minutes of it was me taking a pee break and pouring a drink.
Nice to see you're still uploading and responding to your fans John. Was skeptical, but now I'm gonna check out the movie at the theater on my street tomorrow. Thank You and keep up the good work!
Best place to get the shirt?
Glad you appreciated this one John! I got major Big Lebowski vibes with it.
@theFLICKpick or anyone else, where can i watch "once apon a time in hollywood" ? only in theateres ??
Great review thanks !!
Good to see you upload man
Great video john👍
Django Unchained, not just a favourite tarantino movie but my personal all time favourite. It's almost a perfect movie in every single aspect.
larson seq I agree , but without Leo that film would suck !
N M I wouldn’t say it’d suck but DiCaprio did own that role and giving the part to anyone else would make the movie worse
Spot on review Flick’, completely agree.
Good to see you back brother!
Wow, I forgot I was subscribed to you. So I second the 'Thank you Tarintino.'
Oh God I missed your reviews and I feel ya, there are not many good original movies comming out anymore... and thank you so much man for that ad, I was looking for something like that for some time :D For sure when I buy some movie posters I will use your promo code!
What's your favorite QT movie John?
Django!
“Do you know Quentin Tarantino? I LOVE his movies! BANG! BANG!” - Cecil B. Demented 🤣
great review flick!!
“Transcended me back”
Wow cool video John....thanks for sharing
Hey bro, hopefully you keep making all kinds of videos, because there usually pretty damn good boi! Stay motivated!!
Also good review👍🏾
I’m so excited for this movie. Oh and my favorite is Pulp Fiction.
Blaze The Movie Fan I saw it today & really enjoyed it. If you’re a fan of slower movies, history or nostalgia, you’ll like it. It takes its time, so I’d say just let it unfold & enjoy the acting & fantastic cinematography.
Great review!
Do you buy movies when come out on Tuesdays the new releases
I loved it. My family loved it. I agree with you about Robbie's role but I'd add that we also get to see a slice of her life. What made her, as a hopeful actress, tick.
Love your videos
Spot on review, man!
I've seen the movie three times already. Looking for said flaws, I can't find any. Don't understand how a generation of "Bingewatchers" who watch 40 hours of low production programming in a weekend can complain about a 2 hour and 45-minute movie of excellence and then complain "its too long"
How can you complain of getting value for your money?
That's perfect my man, spot on
I love you John! Keep doing what makes you happy in life and you'll be fine man!
Joel Barish At the movies working full time on RUclips can be really hard
A very solitary job
Good to see you back, Flick Pick!!
I saw it today and absolutely loved it. You are right, I think it totally captured the look, feel and vibe of 1969. Even though the running time is long I never felt myself getting bored. Margot Robbie was so good as Sharon Tate. One of my favorite sequences with her was when she went to the movie theatre. Also, totally didn't expect the twist that later played out.
Fun fact; you don't need to go through identical problems to relate to someone's struggles. All you need is a little empathy.
What's QT's best movie in your opinion?
Great review..... thanks.
I asked for one review and I got one. Thank you John.
I loved this movie. Pretty close to my favorite Tarrentino, though I agree with you about the flaws. Still, the flaws for me helped sharpen the best parts.
Before this, Jackie Brown was my favorite (and still has the tightest narrative). I think this one now is.
Even when I have zero interest in the movies John talks about, I drop everything and anything the second I get the notification, lay back and enjoy my favourite weirdo!
John do more reviews I really enjoy them. You've haven't been doing enough. I know sometimes real life gets in the way. But keep it up bro.
You returned!!!
The acting was incredible in this. Thanks for this review. It's good to have you in our lives!
I loved this movie! It was hilarious, entertaining, immersive, and satisfying as hell. They could have shaved off 20 mins, but that final sequence is one of the best things I’ve ever seen in a movie. Great review John, it’s awesome to have you back!
Awesome shirt!
Stuckmunn's friend.
I had very close to the same opinion you did. Good, but not his greatest. Felt a bit too long, particularly some of the shots of Cliff driving. Could have easily trimmed some things down.
I think they mishandled Bruce Lee.
I loved the last act. Mid credits scene was cool too.
I love looking at this dude :) awesome video bro
Finally, a Flickpick review on time
I think I liked this movie much more than you, but I gave it an A-....felt that he could have done more with the Italian Spaghetti Western era scenes and the ending...at first, shocked me, and left me hanging a little...but now I completely get it and am going to see it again. That slow burn you are talking about is one of the best things about...we truly do get lost in late 60s Hollywood.
Going to go see it tonight, can’t wait!
Bro, how legendary are u?! U can take long times off, come back and still kick ass... Like a RUclips Brock Lesner lol
"It's not a perfect movie." "Not Tarantino best movie." "It's has LOT of flaws." "I'm going give this movie a A!" Ummm, ok.
I just got out of seeing it a second time n found it way more enjoyable cus once you see a movie tha first time your usually busy tryna pay attention. So just a chill classic Tarantino experience during round II.
Love your review boss. I did not understand Jahns' dislike for this flick. Dont get it.
Go watch Beyond The Trailer's review on this movie... most ridiculous review I've seen.
Can you do a separate video showing us your collection of movie posters from displate posters? They look really awesome, I dont know which one I want! haha
It seemed like a mash up of cut scenes, or unused ideas from his other movies to me, too. And this was the way to put them together.
"You are fucking awesome, John."
- Einstein 2069 colorised
If you were bored during this movie, you just don’t appreciate good filmmaking, it’s that simple.
I'm glad you enjoyed it dude I had a blast watching it. The ending made me so happy.
Dude ! I love the shirt !! That’s hilarious
just gonna say it. I saw it last night with my friends and we loved every second. Especially the last the 30 minutes.
I wonder if you will have the time to do a IT: chapter 2 trailer reaction review. Good to see you back, buddy.
Damn you noticed that foot fetish xD death proof, pulpfiction ,kill bill yep I seen it xD
No other director can make such high quality movies and have people say " its not his best" lol. My favorite is Pulp Fiction. I honestly love every second of that film.
Awesome video thanks for your review you badass you.
The Kill Bill films are my favorite. I see them as one big film.
I love the Flick Pick!!!!! This was a great movie! Keep up the amazing work John!!!!
Loved it until the end. I was expecting a brutal QT re-creation of the Sharon Tate murder and got something else.. I know QT is one to change history but to me this was a huge missed opportunity
Why would you want to see that
Hmmm... I'm getting a 404 Not Found on that link... :( Maybe it's only for the US?
Ok, I still get the 404 page but there is a pop-up with the promo code this time. 👍
Forget the haters this was hands down the best since Pulp Fiction. No plot NO PROBLEM. Tarantino made a story about friendship which is a nod to old Hollywood and a great Hollywood ending. Screw the haters this was WAY better than KB, Basters, Django and H8teful. By far.
Sam Loomis I feel that... but to be fair this movie can’t be watched over and over anytime like the others.. imo
I simply HAVE to comment about your American Psycho shirt that I got you every single time you wear it because it makes me so happy that you love it and wear it so often!
I give it an A-. I did not enjoy it as much as you but I agree I want to see it again. The program I got of this movie was great too.
I loved the movie. So much to breakdown!
