Andy D I found OUT HOW THE glitch is triggere it's the auto save that breaks the normal save so traveling to diffrent areas is what causes the glitch so before u Travle save and after save again but a save bug should really be fixed by now
I can't believe I been subscribed to LGR for over 8 years now. You make great videos man. Your voice, your humor, presentation and video editing is top notch man. You kick ass and chew bubble gum and you been out of bubble gum for a damn long time. You're the greatest LGR.
I can't believe they insist on trying the PC UI on consoles. It just doesn't work, they should just redesign the game for consoles completely. Remember on PS2 when you could actually control your Sim and walk around in 3rd person and interact with stuff? That was so fun I actually preferred to play that way. Why the eff don't they do that again?
ɪᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀʀʏꜰᴀɴʙoʏ I absolutely love that game. It took a unique twist to the gameplay experience and I was angry that the sequels didn’t build from that idea.
I think I'm one of the few people that liked the old console Sims games like Busting Out and URBZ. Something about taking the life sim and making it a bit more RPG/ central around your main Sim made the console versions unique.
@Jeffrey Colten Actually, you can control it there ways. You can do it on PC. That's why I honestly I would rather have Sims on the PC Plus on top of that they have certain bugs that they don't fix on the concert version that modders fix on the PC version. This is why I like the PC version of The Sims 4 Skyrim Conan Etc because it's not restricted. That's the reason why I don't like consoles. I do like consoles for the fact that you get exclusive content, but I don't like it because they cater consoles towards children and not towards adults that play it. But you don't even if you had a PC, you don't even have to use that much you act like it's mandatory.
@@guguy00 sims 4 is very good but with right packs that cost huge still.. Also ye, i play it on pc too just because i cant without mods, and i dont mean wicked one only.
EA knows they can get away with lazy stuff like this because they know a lot of people will still go out of their way to buy it... I wish we could see the Sims get a competitor/spiritual successor with tons of new and interesting gameplay mechanics for better roleplaying/storytelling/whatever else I mentioned on that one comment on your "Bowling Stuff" review... It was a very long comment on stuff I wish I could see in my ideal "Sims" type game. Anyway thanks as usual for a fantastic, in depth, and most importantly, honest review! By the way does this even come with the DLC? On those menu screenshots it looked as if they were blurred/greyed out? Are they just straight up selling the base game at an increased price??? If so that's just... Yeah that's just EA (Eats Ass).
Dlc is coming to console. It has to be purchased. Right now Vampires , City Living and Glamour stuff Perfect Patio is ported over. Then eventually Dine Out, Romantic Garden, Luxury Party, etc is in the works. The deluxe party edition comes with Perfect Patio Stuff pack. I can’t remember if lgr mentioned that. Which also increased the price on the deluxe edition.
Melanie Bermudez I've played all of them but for now I'm playing the Sims 2, but I kind of like ts4 so... I'll play the console version because me computer is not very good.
Yes. I find mods enhance that game's longivity; also found a frame limiter for ts3 that, combined with merging all my mods, the game almost always runs smoothly, almost. Only downside is the framelimiter was set at 30 instead of 60.
Hey LGR, ever think about reviewing the Sims Bustin Out games. I remember having that game on Gamecube and I freakin loved it. It was my first Sims game.
Or people like me who run out of space on their laptop if they install the game. If I reinstall everything with my expansion packs, it eats up my hard drive space and I can't do anything else with my laptop anymore. No saving documents. Console version was the only way for me to play the game again.
ColasTeam yeah sure, except I didn’t feel like shelling out for a bigger hard drive. It’s a work laptop, not like it requires a lot of space to function. Considering I use my console for gaming 90% of the time anyway, console version is better suited for my lifestyle. And frankly, more comfortable to lay back on the couch than be hunched up at a computer screen.
not everyone had a pc to run it, I play sims 4 on my b/f laptop and i had to turn down EVERYTHING to run it so-so. I'm not picky, but it can lag base on house size. Also had to delete all my mods because they broke when I got sims 4 pets. And when i looked no mods were updated yet. My sim kept glitching out when picking up her fox Kit. (baby fox) since puppy/kittens can't walk up stairs alone. Some people prefer to game on console. I know I do. But i bought most the packs, so just waiting to get a new pc.
I have been watching your videos since Sims 3 came out, and I have never bought a Sims game without watching your review first. You're so honest about your opinion and always say what everyone else is thinking. I'm glad you do what you do. :)
Ooh the switch could have been good by like incorporating motion controls to select stuff as an option. I doubt it'll ever get there though because Nintendo hates third party
except it doesn't ? lol nintendo eshop is full of third party games, besides fifa is from EA just like The Sims but I agree that having The Sims 4 on the switch is highly unlikely.
One of the features I loved about The Sims 2 on Gamecube was that it gave you the choice of moving a pointer or directly controlling the movement of the characters. Why didn't that become standard for the console ports afterwards?
I was somewhat interested in this until I found out it's a straight port. Seriously, what's the point? Sims 4 on PC runs on pretty much anything. The old console releases at least had a story mode, which the Sims could certainly use to make it stand out on console and make it worth a double dip. It wouldn't stop them from leaving this in as a Sandbox mode. Lame.
Bustin Out was great. I never played Urbz, because I read a lot of bad reviews. My favorite right now is The Sims 3 Pets for PS3, I never get tired of it.
I was hoping they'd made sim control like the did in the PS2 version of Sims 2 where the left stick actually walks your sim around rather than point and click.
Avery Engstrom nickeling and diming us to hell and back on the least amount of creativity possible, that's what. at this rate it'll be 1-2 more years before the game is actually interesting, just so they can then start talking about the sims 5. EA is the worst publisher i've ever seen. ever. in my life. i've heard about people being frustrated with them since i was 8 years old playing the playstation, and now i'm 25.
Don't normally comment, but just wanted to say i really enjoy your videos i really miss the 90s computer days and i get to relive it alittle bit plus learn more about pre 90s era. Keep making em and ill keep watching!!! Thx
One of my favourite Sims console releases was the Sims 2 for the PS2. Sure, it had limitations, but you could switch between use the top-down controls or DIRECTLY control your sim using the analogue stick which blew my mind at the time. Second to that was the Sims Bustin Out which was a joy to play.
Have you played KSP on consoles? That was an ambitious port that tried to preserve features (albeit an update or 4 behind) but man the control scheme is literal hell. Not to mention the bugs. I wish all console games could/would allow a mouse and keyboard, not that it really affects me anymore though.
thanks for the review man! I love how you are super honest with the good stuff, and the bad stuff. You are a very balanced reviewer and something that most people are not, thanks man and keep up the good stuff!
On PS4 after the update you can adjust the cursor speed and acceleration. I set both to 75%. the game is mooch more playable now and is actually enjoyable. before the update i was often very frustrated with the controls as it was too fast and was all over the place. Thanks developers :)
Of course Sims 4 looks exactly the same on a console as it does on PC, the game was designed for a TABLET. People playing Sims 4 on PC are just playing a Tablet port.
@Ashwath If you don't believe me, do a search for "The Sims 4 Olympus" which was its name back when this game was a cross platform tablet version sequel to The Sims Online. EA removed the online stuffs due to the failure of the SimCity 2013 servers, ported it to PC, and had their Marketing Department spin it as a PC game so they could charge a PC game's price. EA is utterly reprehensible.
Why can''t they just do it like the Sims 2 on consoles where you navigate the world as the character in third person. It worked well with controllers, the UI wasn't that clunky and it gave the Sims 2 on console its own unique flair.
Agreed, they really should have done _something_ along those lines. While I respect wanting to bring the entire PC version to consoles, they did it too literally here.
if you're comparing base vanilla games only, then I wholeheartedly agree. But add the expansions, and Sims 3 becomes a weird confusing mess of clashing ideas that don't harmonize well, there's all kinds of weird fairies and shit everywhere, and a lot of the things that were carried over from sims 1 and 2 expansions just feel like shittier, neutered versions of the original expansion. The Sims 2 with all expansions can be hell with its super long loading times, but in every other way besides that, it's a much more cohesive experience where all of the expansions harmonize well together and the ultimate number of features eclipses Sims 3 massively. Yes, it had "fairies and stuff", but they were rare spawns/chance events that fit the overall aesthetic and charm of the game without absolutely hijacking the "life sim" stuff that you bought the game for. The sims 4 had less features than the sims 1 did when it originally released, and nowadays it feels like "they tried to make sims 3 again, and this time the design is more cohesive and things 'fit in' a lot better, except the mechanical depth and features have been neutered even further."
Cuz I'm a wanderer I keep getting told that but I think it honestly depends on a PC. Considering I've been able to play as long as I want with no problem while Sims 2 crashes after half an hour.
hmm... guess it is nice for console-only people to have this, even though it appears to be a horrible port. Even so, I still prefer The Sims 2 & 3. I mean honestly, the music is so generic compared to previous Sims games. And that main menu...
The one thing I liked about the ports was how different they could be, some better like Sims 2 Castaways, some worse (Sims 3 for DS) but they had different styles of play which was cool. This is literally the PC version. No more. If that's how its going to be, I might as well just buy the PC edition. 😐
I'm more a computer person myself I like to play a lot of computer games and stuff. But I had to get it for my Xbox One because it'd lag so badly on my computer.. :/
Hey LGR, great video! I've played The Sims 3 on Xbox 360 and I think they DID change the UI for that. The controls took mere minutes to figure out, and it was a smooth experience all around. Good enough that I'm thinking of getting it for 360 again! Won't be picking 4 up for console though. Already have it for PC, and the issues you pointed out, at least for me, are a turn off. Would love to see you do a review on The Sims 3 for Xbox 360 though, I'm sure many of us would like to see how it stacks up compared to its new counterpart!
The way they did the controls is just pure laziness. They have done really good controls for sims console games in the past like on the sims 2 pets where you could play your sims in 3rd person, that was so fun!
Clint you are hilarious. My wife and I very much enjoy your humor and personality in your reviews. Keep on doing what you're doing and well keep watching.
I still play Sims 2 for the gamecube.lol. At least when friends come over coz it has that great direct controlling, so Playing 2 player is a blast. Plus everything is like super 90's so you end up with these super drastic 90's sims haha. PErsonally I like it better that Console games are different than the pc version. Like omg, sims 2 pets for DS. "Can you help me, my pet is UGLY, I dont know what to do!" xD Best sentence to hear when you're playing as a vet haha
I was hoping you would do a review of this one (the console version)! The last Sims game i actually really played on PC (besides a little of 2) was the original Sims via the Deluxe Edition and Unleashed and i really loved them. Then my PC got outdated and i became more of a console gamer and the ports for later games weren't as good as there PC counter parts were from what i can gather. Too bad about the controls in this one. Keep up the great reviews man!
You know what i miss? The ability to control the sims directly with your analog stick like if it was any other videogame. The sims 2 on the PS2 nailed this control scheme, and i always wanted to see something like this on PC (Can you imagine the PC version of The Sims 2 with these controls? it woluld be awesome! ) I dont know if the console version of The Sims 3 did the same thing because i never played it....
I would say they'd be better served to release it on the Switch but EA is being a bunch of crybabies who refuse to work with Nintendo on anything so, not gonna happen.
Cynistrelle Winter Yes they do. The Switch has many 3rd party games now. EA just wants for Fifa 18 to sell well and then they will port more games. (they are idiots though)
You're kidding, right Cynistrelle? If they didn't want anything not Nintendo, they wouldn't be so supportive towards games like Doom 2016 and Skyrim on the Switch. EA's butthurt because apparently they wanted Origin services on the Wii U, Nintendo said no, and they've held a grudge ever since, even allegedly scrapping a finished Wii U Crysis 3 port just out of spite.
HA, I highly doubt Crysis 3 would've ran well on that thing, The Wii U and Switch's GPU's do not even reach close to those of the Xbox one X and Ps4 Pro And, knowing Crysis 3 is a GPU heavy game. Good luck mate.
Dimitri, you do realize Crysis 3 was on the Ps3, don't you? The rumor goes that they already had a fully functioning version of Crysis 3 ready to go on the Wii U but EA refused to Publish it because they were being babies. Bacon, if the Wii U can do it, the Switch sure as Hell should be able to to do it. I'm willing to bet Doom 2016 is much more advanced than Crysis 3 since it couldn't get on the Ps3 but Panic Button managed to get a mostly intact experience on its port.
+Mas Haq Kresno I know someone with a laptop that I can more or less guarantee is weaker than the Switch that can run Sims 4. Obviously, a Switch version wouldn't be maxed out graphically but being handheld would give it appeal.
I just wanna say thank you for doing what you do!! Every time a new Sims game comes out I immediately look up your videos to find out if I should buy it or not. Can't wait to see your Sims 4 Into the Jungle review (or whatever the game is called). Keep it up !!! :D
I love how you keep your scripting loose and just talk as if you were having a conversation with the audience, it feels way more natural and actually keeps my attention.
FYI keyboard and mouse support is now available on Xbox One, it's very well implemented and to adjust the settings of the mouse sensitivity you actually change that in Xbox Settings - Kinect and devices - keyboard and mouse :) Happy Simming!
The DLC included in the Standard Edition is all free on PC. Toddlers, pools, ghosts etc were all free patches. So nope. Unless you pre-ordered, which provided Perfect Patio Stuff. And in that case, that's a $10 pack. And considering this is $10 more expensive than the PC version, that means the value is the same.
Didn't mention it in the review, but I also tried adjusting the controller settings through the Xbox app to do so. It didn't help. thanks for the tip. ill probably save every 20 minutes then. lol
Andy D I found OUT HOW THE glitch is triggere it's the auto save that breaks the normal save so traveling to diffrent areas is what causes the glitch so before u Travle save and after save again but a save bug should really be fixed by now
My game has no problem saving but crashes every 5 minutes. I’m not playing again until a patch comes out
You'd think with all the money EA makes with their ridiculously priced games they'd be able to fix these glitches
Man, I agree with you all the way, every word is soooo relatable!!!
Honestly, for the first half of the video, I thought you were just showing PC Gameplay footage.
Anyone remember The Sims 2 Castaway? Used to love playing that on the PS2 as a kid.
Pixel Perfect my husband purchased that for me when I was home pregnant on bed rest with our son. That kiddo is 11 now...woah time flies
No
Yes! I've made it my life's mission to find a game for the ps4 that closely resembles the experience I had with castaway. Was such a good game 😂😭
It's way better than Island Living.
I can't believe I been subscribed to LGR for over 8 years now. You make great videos man. Your voice, your humor, presentation and video editing is top notch man. You kick ass and chew bubble gum and you been out of bubble gum for a damn long time. You're the greatest LGR.
Idk what this community would do without your sims reviews. Ijs.
It took a unique twist to the gameplay experience and I was angry that the sequels didn’t build from that idea.
ɪᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀʀʏꜰᴀɴʙoʏ Ik. I was 8 when I got sims 2 pets on PC and it was so fun.
The UI is probably the same so EA can make expansions available for both console and PC in the future without having to do any extra work on them.
Macho Fantastico exactly.
I think I'm one of the few people that liked the old console Sims games like Busting Out and URBZ. Something about taking the life sim and making it a bit more RPG/ central around your main Sim made the console versions unique.
I wish this game have 2 player coop, like the ps2 TheSims games :(
That'd be neat.
"Leave your WickedWhims at home". The reason I play on PC.
Cinnamoncustard same.
Honestly when I want to play the Sims I play 2 or 3. When I want to watch sims fuck I play 4. The game is about as shallow as the trait in the mod.
@@guguy00 sims 4 is very good but with right packs that cost huge still..
Also ye, i play it on pc too just because i cant without mods, and i dont mean wicked one only.
This console port is a great example of how important a control scheme is to the overall experience
Oooo an LGR Quickie? Sign me up ;)
EA knows they can get away with lazy stuff like this because they know a lot of people will still go out of their way to buy it...
U can get the sims 4 + CATS AND DOGS bundle. I got it for $57 in AUD
I hated the controls! I could not figure them out and stopped playing my free trial after like 10 minutes.
Cynistrelle Winter they were that bad, ruined the game for me haha!
Its actually easy it took a couple of minutes to get used to it, its a learning curve but easy to learn
Does anybody still plays TS3 for PC?
i just finished the sims 3 era....hopefully wont have to wait to long for something similar. will never play sims 4 sadly not my kind of game.
me.. haven't played Sims 4 in over a year and can't get Sims 2 cause i play on a clunky laptop :\
I still play sims 3 as I’ve lost my base game for sims 2 and I’ll never buy sims 4
I'm playing it on my game boy right now
Bren Tenkage That was my favorite.
Omg me too but on PS2, AHH I love those games so much.
Probably one of the worst ones. A story mode with objectives and levels in a SIMS game? No thanks.
I have been watching your reviews for almost 2 years and they are amazing xx❤️
Thank you!
It's EA.
What are you expecting?
Why though? WHY? The PC version came out so long ago and is so so much better... WHY!
Or people like me who run out of space on their laptop if they install the game. If I reinstall everything with my expansion packs, it eats up my hard drive space and I can't do anything else with my laptop anymore. No saving documents. Console version was the only way for me to play the game again.
+BooksEatYou Putting in a new hard drive on your laptop would of probably been a more effective solution.
Because not everyone has a gaming pc. And with tablets not everyone even has a pc at all anymore.
not everyone had a pc to run it, I play sims 4 on my b/f laptop and i had to turn down EVERYTHING to run it so-so.
>No wicked whims
>:(
Hi Larry!!
Wish this was on the switch I have a ps4 but... I have it on my mac so what's the point of buying it unless I can take it on the go
Ooh the switch could have been good by like incorporating motion controls to select stuff as an option. I doubt it'll ever get there though because Nintendo hates third party
except it doesn't ? lol nintendo eshop is full of third party games, besides fifa is from EA just like The Sims but I agree that having The Sims 4 on the switch is highly unlikely.
It's not free to play still have to pay for it so
what the fuck are you doing owning a fucking mac? you could have spent the SAME amount of a money for a PC that could run any game out there lololol.
Sell your Mac, and buy a PC.
Apple products are just the same as the other products, but they are more expensive.
One of the features I loved about The Sims 2 on Gamecube was that it gave you the choice of moving a pointer or directly controlling the movement of the characters. Why didn't that become standard for the console ports afterwards?
From what I read. Unfortantly people didn't like that. Which sucks, becuase I surely did. I felt like I was my sim, not playing god.
Man I remember playing the Sims on the consoles thinking it was the greatest thing ever. Right until I got a laptop to play the Sims 3.😂
Lame.
People who don't have a pc or idk, however is just a port, not an original game. Nothing wrong whit being a port, man.
I would be super into this on the switch. Mobile sims and then you at least have a touch screen that might make the UI a little more functional.
Of course they could transfer all game to the console. It is such a bare bones game anyway
Cool. So, other console Sims reviews coming eventually? How about The Urbz? :)
Eventually!
And bustin out also try to play them co-op makes the experience better.
Zabeus or the Sims 2 for ps2
Urbz for the GBA is petty good.
Bustin Out was great. I never played Urbz, because I read a lot of bad reviews. My favorite right now is The Sims 3 Pets for PS3, I never get tired of it.
I didn't know what WickedWhims was till you mentioned it.
I wish I didn't know, thank you Clint. :
Spoiler alert: not safe for work
I was hoping they'd made sim control like the did in the PS2 version of Sims 2 where the left stick actually walks your sim around rather than point and click.
LMAO THE ENDING
He is so exasperated with this franchise.
syncopatedglory honestly EA has become such a clusterfuck what are they even doing anymore
Not sims related but you’ve been looking really good lately. The glow up is real 👏🏻
“Leave your wicked whims at home”
LGR you savage 😂
Have'int seen an LGR quickies in a while, quite like these for when I don't have enough time to watch a more longer LGR video.
The game is 3 years old and we're still waiting for a Seasons/Weather expansion. haha
Don't normally comment, but just wanted to say i really enjoy your videos i really miss the 90s computer days and i get to relive it alittle bit plus learn more about pre 90s era. Keep making em and ill keep watching!!! Thx
8:41 now that was an interesting noise hahaha
No WickedWhims?!? Say no more.
Lol wasn't expecting a Wicked Whims reference
Can't believe this is free to play now
Right
Honestly your voice is so relaxing I only watch you with a cup of tea
On PS4 after the update you can adjust the cursor speed and acceleration. I set both to 75%. the game is mooch more playable now and is actually enjoyable. before the update i was often very frustrated with the controls as it was too fast and was all over the place. Thanks developers :)
They eventually even added keyboard and mouse support onto the console ports
i always wanted mr. lgr man to give us a quickie
am i right ladies?
thank you i'll be here all week
Of course Sims 4 looks exactly the same on a console as it does on PC, the game was designed for a TABLET. People playing Sims 4 on PC are just playing a Tablet port.
SeaOfTides Good joke.
The review for the pass through is a 10/10. Do more like that lol. 20 second reviews for stuff you don't really care about.
"So sorry leave your wicked whims at home" I CAN BREATHE 😂
This feels like a new style of video, and I'm kinda digging it. Feels like a more direct kind of way to present your musings!
I like this format, very well edited too
Thank you!
Sims 3 is the superior Sims
if you're comparing base vanilla games only, then I wholeheartedly agree.
Sims 3 crashes after 1 hour of playing
Cuz I'm a wanderer I keep getting told that but I think it honestly depends on a PC. Considering I've been able to play as long as I want with no problem while Sims 2 crashes after half an hour.
For me The Sims 2 is much better than 3
i'd recommend changing your profile pic. I was about to take your post seriously until I saw it. You must be wrong though.
You have the best voice. Like Morgan Freeman and Kevin Bacon’s voices had a love child
hmm... guess it is nice for console-only people to have this, even though it appears to be a horrible port.
Even so, I still prefer The Sims 2 & 3.
I mean honestly, the music is so generic compared to previous Sims games. And that main menu...
CarthagoMike Sims 2 was the best
Please talk about the older console Sims like Sims 2 and tge Urbz for Ps2 and the GBA ones
My first Sims experience was Sims 2 on Xbox. Absolutely loved it.
Really enjoy this type of review it feels more direct.
This should've had the Sims 2 controllers. Don't think it was that hard...
Pepperoni Milkshake Original Xbox and PS2 controllers won't work with Xbox One and PS4
Ashwath Toontown I think they meant controls, not controllers.
I really appreciate your honesty. You're not one of those RUclipsrs that lies about products to get more free stuff. 👌🏽👌🏽
Oooo! I love a quickie....oh shit he meant with his reviews. Sigh. Oh well! His reviews are the next best thing!
Keep up the great reviews man!
wouldn't this be better on the switch ? Also buys XBox One X ... plays Sims on it :P
+Ornstein the DragonSlayer Which is why it's beaten the PS2's first year sales in Japan.... Yeah obviously no-one wants a Switch...
best voice on youtube and glad you know how to mic it
Haven’t played Sims in a long long time, probably because I am on PS4...Might try it for something a little different, seems like a quality product.
Late, I know, but the Wii version of TS3 worked just like that.
+Mas Haq Kresno
I know someone with a laptop that I can more or less guarantee is weaker than the Switch that can run Sims 4. Obviously, a Switch version wouldn't be maxed out graphically but being handheld would give it appeal.
“leave your wicked whims at home “
Ngl your videos brighten my day !
I cant wait for the £20 expansion pack that fixes the controllers.
I just wanna say thank you for doing what you do!!
Every time a new Sims game comes out I immediately look up your videos to find out if I should buy it or not.
Can't wait to see your Sims 4 Into the Jungle review (or whatever the game is called). Keep it up !!! :D
Please can you review:
The last of us
Life is strange
Alien: Isolation OR
The walking dead games
you're my absolute favourite person on RUclips 😂😂💖
YES I was so hoping you'd review this version.
They need to go back to the Sims 2 console controls.
Hey LGR - the wife and I discovered a gem on Amazon Prime last night called The Video Game Years and holy crap, you are in it!
I am slow building my house lol it's takes me at least an hour
I love how you keep your scripting loose and just talk as if you were having a conversation with the audience, it feels way more natural and actually keeps my attention.
LMAO It costs more than Persona 5, no thank u XD
FYI keyboard and mouse support is now available on Xbox One, it's very well implemented and to adjust the settings of the mouse sensitivity you actually change that in Xbox Settings - Kinect and devices - keyboard and mouse
:)
Happy Simming!
Is the price also high considering it has stuff that would be in DLC on PC?
The DLC included in the Standard Edition is all free on PC. Toddlers, pools, ghosts etc were all free patches. So nope.
Unless you pre-ordered, which provided Perfect Patio Stuff. And in that case, that's a $10 pack. And considering this is $10 more expensive than the PC version, that means the value is the same.
Thank you for reviewing this LGR!
