Been playing the Eye 2’s since early 90’s, did a fitting for these G425’s the other day and gained just over 20yds on my average but what sold me was the consistent accuracy even on miss hits! Amazing, so I bought a full set!!
I’ve had ping irons for nearly 20yrs. Love them and never expected to change from them. My wife decided to treat me to a new set for my birthday last year and I went for a fitting. I told the club fitter that I was a Ping guy and he said he could fit me for Pings BUT if I kept an open mind he would fit me for the clubs that best suited my game.... well after it was all said and done I changed to Taylormade m6 irons. I absolutely love them and having played with them 3 times a week every week since last July I believe they’re the the best irons I’ve ever hit. HOWEVER I love the look of Ping irons and these G425 look awesome. Think I might jump back to my beloved Pings ...
I bought these irons and hit them for the first time last night. I've never owned a set of Pings before... All I can say is wow. These are long and the feel is fantastic!
I am Ping through and through. My current plan was to upgrade to the G710 next month. Now I need to look these over. I would love to see a video of g425 vs g710 vs i500.
I've wanted a set since I was a teenager and got my G425's today going from my old Burner SuperSteels. Had no idea I could hit iron shots so good. Played with the burner's last week and didn't hit one good iron shot but got 5 pars thanks to my wedge play, can't wait to see what I can do when I have a chance to hit the green.
Ping G700 and they are great. Here in Kenya you dont see any but I bought them 2 years ago in UK. People here have had a go with mine and love them. For me, they are great.
I currently have a 17 degree Ping G20 and a 20 degree Ping G15 hybrid in my bag. The 17 is my 2 iron/driving iron, while the 20 degree is my 4 iron. I also have a Ping Cadence Craz-Z-R putter, which I love..
Got fitted for G410s in January. Ordered them +1.5” and 2 degrees upright. Store called back next day and offered me the 425s for $12 more per club. I’ve hit them twice since they came in but they are like butter. These are without a doubt the most accurate irons I have ever owned. I also tried the new Mizunos but the Pings just were straighter and longer for me. Headed back once the ice and snow melt to look at a hybrid to put in the bag. Lotta love for the Ping 425 hybrids on RUclips. Have to see what is best for my swing. Like you James, I tend to play a draw that can become a nasty duck hook if I get too handsy.
Had my first fitting a few years ago and the top and bottom went to Ping. G400 Driver, 3w, 4h - Glide 2 wedges (54, 58) and a Sigma 2 tyne *stealth putter. Middle of the bag went to Callaway Rogue 5-A Recently purchased a Glide 2 approach as its loft suited the other wedges. Very happy with my descending "handicap"
Yeah I’m the same. I always played Mizuno because I love the look and feel. I switched to Ping i500 because they still look like players irons which I like. Feel wise, they’re not Mizuno but I just find them so much easier to hit and control. I think because they’re lighter heads and hollow bodied they just suit me better as a 7 handicapper. My point is, I avoided Ping for years on looks, however, now I’m gaming them I’m down to 4. Still prefer Mizuno look and feel but I want to play my best and Ping is helping me do that. I’m slightly gutted, don’t know why, maybe I’m just a style over substance person 😞
Used ping irons, as a junior golfer last ones I had were the zing 2. After 20yrs away from the game started again last June still using the zing 2s still great clubs. Now changed to titleist t100. I think these look great and the addition of Arcos will be popular.
Fitted out for i500s, glide 3 wedges and 410 driver and 3 wood last year. All clubs perform and feel great and dropped 5 shots over the summer. Ping clubs just work.
I'm a fan. I'm a 4 hcp and switching from G400 to G425 for 2021. With the height the drop and stop. My 7 iron is 170 carry and I don't get more than 1 or 2 paces of roll out. But most importantly these suckers go straight! Aim at the middle of the green people!!! :)
Interesting. I always thought these weren’t for lower handicappers? I really should stop believing everything I read! 😂 I’m a 22 handicap and bought the G410 irons last year. My plan was to keep them until single figures (hoping I’m on an aggressive journey to reach that) and then change them.
I500 for me. My first set was the original eye2 with the grooves too close together (James you’ll be too young) which were awesome. Ping replaced them with legal clubs that were very inconsistent so I was a bit cautious about going back to the brand but 2 years in and I have no complaints. The fitting experience at Ping is brilliant.
Been using Ping G 20's for a few years now love the clubs best set I have ever owned. They have seen allot of use over the years. Really considering updating them. But I am so comfortable with them hard to give that up.
Got fitted for Ping G410s two summers ago, play 5 hybrid then 6i through gap wedge. I sometimes struggle with my iron play (my fault, not the irons') but have lowered my handicap from 18 to 12 since getting them, so no complaints!
Eye 2+ BeCu 2-Sw in winter. Mizuni MP-67 in warmer (+ 15C degrees) weather. The Ping set is 25 years young and pretty soft but nothing feels like Mizuno, if hit from the sweetspot
Mine are a set of ping isi becu irons I got as a graduation present from high school many many years ago. Always liked how soft they felt and just now getting back into golf after a 15 year break.
I played only forged clubs up until 2000 when I switched to Ping i3 blades. I played several different models of the I series clubs up until the G410 came out. As I have grown older and played through a plethora of injuries my needs for a more forgiving and longer club became necessary. I tinker lots with clubs and probably tried for shorter periods of time nearly a dozen different sets of game improvement irons. My favorites to date are a set of Cleveland CBX that I keep at our vacation spot and my current gamers the Mizuno JPX 919 H/M Pro. I hit the G425 irons and they looked and felt great to me. Once you’ve switched to a cast club feel becomes less important though some do certainly feel harsher than others. I am a big Ping fan and could easily game the 425 irons.
Started with a set of Ping Karsten II as a gift from my uncle,, many years later , bought my first total fitted, brand new from factory , set of Pings ! ,, Woods G400s ,, irons G Max ,, for me they do what I want , most of the time , when they don't ,it's usually pilot error ,, I really do like these clubs and may possibly look at the 425s in the future . Since I bought them I ve lowered my handicapp from 20 down to 11 ,, do they work for me , yea I 'd say they do . Keep on Pinging !
Playing the 410s but have still got my first set of pings. Ping Karsten 111 second hand set love to get them out once or twice every summer still beautiful clubs. Very much once a Ping always a Ping sort of guy 👍
Bought and sold the G25, which feel very good, several times. Finally settled on s55 irons and have a set of s56 as backup set. Also still loving my G25 driver.
My first big boy driver was a G30. I own a set 4-LW of Ping Anser irons. However my playing set is a full kit of PXG which you know Bobby Parsens cherry picked Ping R&D guys, so I guess you can say I play Ping Xtreme Golf clubs.
I am currently using the 2006 Big Bertha irons. I am in my early 60's and about an 18 handicap. I remember wanting to play with Ping Eye 2 irons but they were a little out of my price range. I had several playing partners that had them. I bought these Callaway clubs used and I have had them for about 5 years. I am ready for a new set. These look really nice. I will be headed to Dick's Sporting Goods or we have a local golf store and I would like to hit them. I also need to get some tape to put on the bottom of my irons and see if I need an upright or flat lie. I just subscribed to the channel. Thanks for the information.
I use I-25s myself. Awesome clubs, great control and feel for a cavity back. I love the look of these, and probably will consider them for the next set!
few weeks ago went and got fitted. I hit Mizuno 921s, maveriks, big berthas, G410s, G425s and Rogue irons. it was a toss up between the 410s and the 425s, and I ended up getting the 410s just because when I went back and forth between the two I was more consistent! Super happy with my ping irons and a huge upgrade from my starter Strata set!
I have a fitting tomorrow and these are in the mix. Can't wait! I've tried 2021 irons from Mizuno, Callaway and Taylor Made. Callaway is the front runner of those.
I bought a g410 7 wood last year and loved it, so I bought 2 hybrids and loved them....so I bought the 410 irons and I've just bought a 5 wood as well 😂 it looks really poncy with a bag full of matching clubs but they're so easy to hit I wouldn't be surprised if my new driver is a ping when we're aloud out again.
Playing the S55s amazing irons, consistent and do everything really well. Never going to feel(sound) like a Mizuno but you know that when you get them. I would say Pings also last longer than forged irons, and less likely to need loft and lie adjustments
@HankByGodWilliamsSr I was making a general statement about the huge majority of Ping irons, Blueprints are one of the exceptions probably aimed at 0.1% of the golfing population, you also have the Glide forged aimed at the richer end of the golfing population, in the past there have been others too. I have hit Blueprints and would say they are firm for a forged iron still fitting in with Pings philosophy of using harder steels and using engineering to deliver performance! Apologies I wasn't more clear and comprehensive in my original post
Previously GMax then changed to the G710 as not the quickest swing speed. Love what Ping are about - good quality, forgiving irons in the G range. I don't think many worry too much about feel in this category. Played Mizuno mp irons back in the day and wonderful feel but only when hit spot on, prefer some help over the feel to be honest!
I've been fitted for 3 sets of Ping irons over the last 10 yrs and every time they've got better. I currently play G410s and love them - I've had about 16 months now bringing my handicap down to by 5 shots. I know what you mean James by the feel which I notice more so when I play range balls or hard balls but you play a descent balls - I game Callaway Super Soft - they feel fantastic off when you nail them. So going on previous and Pings rep - I bet the 425s are even better.
Bought the G710 irons after not changing my set for 15 years. A marked improvement and much more forgiving, plus they look great. Am enjoying my golf and starting to shoot low 80s, which is great for me. Now if i can only sort out my putting......
I've got the i210 U - 6 iron, and a 26 and 22 degree g410 hybrid. Actually resonates with your 5 mistakes when buying clubs video. Got fitted expecting to get fit into a more game improvement iron (like the g410 at the time), but the i210 were the clear winner with a much better launch
Have the i210 got weaker lofts on them....im mot bothered about distance as my woods get me there....can you stop these on the green with spin...I play with jpx921 forged but if you don't strike them out the middle you get punished..
I15’s for 11yrs until last year....Mizuno JPX921 Forged now which are sweet. Not much difference in performance but they feel and sound so much better. Bit more control on the shorter irons.
@@JamesRobinsonGolf 19° I'm a high ball high spin guy. Going today to pick up my SIM 2, and mg2 wedges. Then I'm done, well untill Scotty releases there new JT putter. Lol watching your videos on my new 70in TV its awesome.
I compared the new hot metal pro to the new ping 425 and the hot metal pro felt and sounded much better. Hard to beat the feeling and looks of a Mizuno iron.
@@Rick102667 I agree hope you play well with them. Also try Mizuno hi fli hybrid as long iron replacement. I carry 4 and 5. Iron length shaft . Easy to hit high land soft.
Those are the best looking Ping game improvement irons they’ve ever made! Classy and clean! My dad and my daughter both play the G700 irons. Both love them, too. Your recommendation played a big role in that too!
I'm sold on my new G410 driver, 3 hybrid. I went with Cleveland Launcher turbo set, but really thinking of switching to ping G410 orG425 next year. I love the way the feel and sound. Thanks for the reviews.
I just changed out of Ping G10's (yes old old G10's) as I didn't like the look (at all), hated the feel and didn't get on with them in general. But being a high handicap (23) and only having played 18 months or so I still need help... enter TM P790s... an I'm so much happier with them in performance, looks the whole package
I went for a fitting and chose these irons. They felt so great. Three and a half week turn around. Should have been six weeks from what they said. Have not picked them up yet. Wish the snow would go away.
Still have the G5 irons in my bag 4 to PW. Love them, but it does feel about time I consider replacing them. They were the first good set of irons I got though.
Use the G400 driver really love it. Decided to get the G410 irons 5-PW.Struggling with them.G410 5wood ok .3 Hybrid G410 couldn't hit that already got rid.Hoping to get my local Pro to sort the irons out after lockdown
Hey James. I play G25 for the past 11 or 12 years. They were my first serious set. Had an Adam’s box set before that. Also play G25 3 wood and 20 degree rescue. I actually broke the shaft on my G25 driver about a year ago. Picked up a G410 10.5. If the world returns to normal I’ll get a new set this year. Very interested in mizuno hot metal but we will see. Love the channels. Keep em coming.
Only Ping club I've used for a significant amount of time is the Sedona putter. Still have it. My 1st top brand putter I ever bought. Not much forgiveness but it might have made me a better putter in the long run
I have been gaming the PING G410 irons (4 through U wedge) in standard lofts and AWT shafts. Perfect for my game at age 72 even with some minor gapping issues between the wedge and 9 iron and the 6 and 5 iron--although a little loft adjustment and a bit of lead tape by my local pro mostly fixed the issue.
I’m a Senior Golfer and I use the Ping Anser irons 2013 version. After watching your “Subliminal Message Review” I’m going to give them a try. Thanks $$$$$
I use Black Dot Ping G Irons from about four plus years ago and a G400 driver that I got cheap and fitted when they were superseded by the 410's. I always played forged Mizuno prior to that but wanted something cast, that would last a few more years post retirement. Love them. The only tiny drawback for me is that they are a tiny bit more offset than I was used to. I've manage to compensate for this, other than going off to the left a little with chip and run's when I forget? PS. Looking for some cheapish G or I25's as well to leave at my mates house in Germany so I don't have to pay Ryanair through the nose every time I go there!
Have had a set of Zings since bought used in 94, and use nothing else. I also have the Lammy 5 wood in the bag. Just bought my son a set of Eye 2s and I will be taking up more golf now. I see no reason to change being 63 I can still carry 8 iron 150 and 5 at 200. I get a kick when someone tees off after me and is sooo proud he can hit his 9 as far as my 8. Why rain on his parade :)
I use the whole Ping G425 family I am currently using the 425 Max driver, 3-wood, and 5-wood, and I recently got the 3-7 hybrids in. I am waiting for the 8-SW in the G425 to be manufactured and shipped out by Ping now.
Currently using ping g series driver 3 wood and only just bought a 3 crossover. Callaway warbird irons which im consdiering changing so might need a test and fitting Taylormade zspin 52,56 and 60 Odessey stroke lab 7 putter.
Had PING G400 irons; traded them in for APEX 19 Pro's - big mistake! (Mid to high hcp, should have stuck with the PING.) Will end up with these or the Mizuno Hot Metals in my bag before Spring. Fitting first!
I’m currently using Ping G410’s. I did a full fitting, thinking I would probably get some Callaway’s because they looked the best, but the computer doesn’t lie. The Pings were the most forgiving and definitely had the best dispersion for me.
I got fitted for new irons just yesterday. I game Ping Karsten 2 irons, a G410 Plus driver, and an Anser 2 putter. I was excited to try these new fangled G425s, along with the new offerings from Callaway, Titleist, Taylor Made, and Mizuno. I was REALLY hoping I would fall in love with G425s (out of sheer brand loyalty), but sadly they just weren't right for me. For me it was essentially a tie between the Callaway Mavrik and Mizuno 921 Hot Metal. So I'm team Mizuno now because they are much easier on the eyes than the Callaways.
@@johnp8131 loved my pings launched high but needed something lower launching as I have lot of club head speed. When I start to loose club head speed no doubt I will end up back with pings.
I've just upgraded to ping i200s from my old i15s. Excited to get out and play with them. Love ping especially as I can buy 2nd hand in lie that suits without the expense of buying new and getting fitted every time. Also got the new epic max on pre order. Just need boris to.let us out now
I had my heart set on the ping G410 irons last year but didn’t like the sound or feel of them in my fitting, I ended up with the titleist T300 that I absolutely love!
I came back to golf after a long lay off and bought the G410’s. Can’t fault the forgiveness and distance but agree the feel and sound could be improved.
I am a 6 handicapper who plays JPX 919 tours. I tried these and it felt like cheating. So forgiving , they look really nice and the feel is not bad at all. So naturally I have ordered them. Waiting for the delivery now :D
I actually changed to ping irons this year, never owned them before. G710s is the ones I went with. Felt rockety off the face and the look amazing in all black and I upgraded to matte black steel shafts 🤤🤣
Two sets, Eye 2+ with K-M shafts, ISI with Ping graphite originals...I alternate for fun with a set of Cleveland 588P. Still have my very first irons, Wilson Staff 1958 with leather reminder grips. 79 and shooting my age from the forward tees.🙂
I use G400 irons and G410 driver and hybrid so will definitely check the G425 irons out! So 3% inertia is higher than 2% inertia. Who’d have thought it? 😁
I'll be getting these irons at the end of the month! Went to get fitted and had my mind set on TM if not Cobra, but the Pings stood out the most and I trusted my fitters recommendation.
Try my new Ping G425 over the weekend, absolutely LOVE THEM. You almost can't made bad shots on these clubs. I had Ping G30 before this set, have to said they are easier to hit.
Wating on a delivery of ping 210 irons and g425 driver, 3 wood and 425 cross over , have never tryed pings before , so when getting a new driver fit i went through the bag as well , hopefully will get them soon depending on lock down 🤮
Eye Two BeCe bought new in 1986, got first ever hole in one yesterday morning at 70 years of age. Still works for me😀👍
Congratulations on the first HIO. Also hit my first last year at 68yrs of age so know how you must feel. Hope you continue to enjoy your golf.🏌️♂️👍
Eye 2 are the perfect set
Well done!!! Great to hear you’ve kept them in the bag for so long!!!
i500’s. Changed from Mizuno MP60s. They don’t feel as good but I just love the look and find them easier to hit.
Ping Eye 2 for me also.

I have a fitting tomorrow and these are in the mix. Can't wait! I've tried 2021 irons from Mizuno, Callaway and Taylor Made. Callaway is the front runner of those.
Great review, I have a G410 sft driver but can't wait to try the new G425 hybrid and driver
Got the Ping G Max irons in the bag and absolutely love them. Really forgiving and easy to hit (high handicapper)
So going on previous and Pings rep - I bet the 425s are even better.
have played the I20 irons and the G25 driver... great clubs... just ordered the G425 Max
I've got the Ping G700's in my bag and I love them (most of the time anyway)
I'm playing g410s. Love them. Previously played same type of ping from 11 years previous. Keep it up ping!
Bought the G710 irons after not changing my set for 15 years. A marked improvement and much more forgiving, plus they look great. Am enjoying my golf and starting to shoot low 80s, which is great for me. Now if i can only sort out my putting......
Finally switching from Cobra ladies irons to my fitted stiff shaft titliest t200 once lockdowns over. Love the content on both channels James!
Just picked up a 425 hybrid. Love it!!
Which loft! I loved the high lofted one!
Good shout pal,I want to get fit,I don't want to just order on line,425 hybrids look awesome, also I want to try SIM 2 hybrid
@@JamesRobinsonGolf 19° I'm a high ball high spin guy. Going today to pick up my SIM 2, and mg2 wedges. Then I'm done, well untill Scotty releases there new JT putter. Lol watching your videos on my new 70in TV its awesome.
I’ve been using Ping G irons since 2016. They are definitely not soft. I’m contemplating getting fit for new irons this year. Great content James
Mizuno always gets the feel right. And with the Hot Metal pro also the look. Gapping is good and consistent. People try them also.
At last thank you, I will definitely be getting a fitting when lockdown has finished and probably ordering a set.
Love my G400 irons. I have an old G5 hybrid and a new G425 max driver. Love the feel and look of my pings.
Ping G410 driver fairway wood and hybrid, I210 irons and heppler putter. The only non ping clubs are my wedges. I love my ping clubs
I've still got Ping i3 and G25. Both are really good. Soft on centre hits.
I went for a fitting and chose these irons. They felt so great. Three and a half week turn around. Should have been six weeks from what they said. Have not picked them up yet. Wish the snow would go away.
Actually going to get fitted today. G425 are on my list to hit so we will see how it goes. Appreciate the video!
Fitted for iBlades and NS Pro Modus 3 shafts 5 years ago and love them. Not playing near enough last 2 years
I have Ping Sigma G Wolverine putter in the bag. Love it. Irons and woods out of my $ range. Love to try them out.
I'm 74 and playing to 12 handicap. I've used a set of Ping G irons, black dot, regular Ping graphite shaft. No plans to change anytime soon.
Using ping g20s i loved them as soon as i started playing with them. Had them since 2013 and dont wanna change them just yet.
James, collecting my g710 irons on monday. Hope i have made the right choice. Gone from g15 s got fitted ar American Golf so fingers crossed.
Use a Ping G400 driver and a Ping Heppler Tyne putter. Both amazing feeling and sounding.
I recently started on fazer clubs and I just bought my ping g425s yesterday and they felt lovely to hit and use.
I've used i3 for ever but looking to change when I get a chance and really like the look of these.
Callaway warbird irons which im consdiering changing so might need a test and fitting
Taylormade zspin 52,56 and 60
Odessey stroke lab 7 putter.
Apart from making quality clubs, ping are in a league of there own for being the best at customer and retailer care!
Had ping g30s then i200s now just been fitted mizuno jpx 921 forged 😍
Good choice. I've just gone in the other direction due to my age and long term finances!
Just need boris to.let us out now
Currently have the Ping i210 irons and a Ping Anser hybrid, super consistent which is what Ping always is👍🏼
I had my heart set on the ping G410 irons last year but didn’t like the sound or feel of them in my fitting, I ended up with the titleist T300 that I absolutely love!
I came back to golf after a long lay off and bought the G410’s. Can’t fault the forgiveness and distance but agree the feel and sound could be improved.
Got a pair of ping i3 + but am hoping to get a new pair of clubs this year. How do you think these compare to the Callaway apex & DCB irons?
I use Ping G425 blue dot standard Shaft 28 handicap managed to par 2 holes on first outing very forgiving with a good feel to them
I am a 6 handicapper who plays JPX 919 tours.
Just bought a new set of Ping G 425, haven’t had a chance to play yet because of weather. I was using Calaway x 24 hot.
The G425 is undoubtedly the best looking Iron in PING's G series👍
Love my ping I e1s but might need these great stuff as usual James!
I’ve had the Ping i200’s in my bag for a few years. I got fitted for them and they’ve been good. But I’m going back to forged this year...... ⛳️👍🏻😃
