I was thinking here, the files of 2b2t are getting old and broken, chunk generation is a mix of updates, the spawn point made it be impossible to new players join, so the in-game player count will decrease a lot, that means that in 2022 prob the next era will be the restart, because the owner will be kind of obrigated to restart everything, the world is destroying itself, and the players too
The actual reason: We want to prevent new players from joining so we don’t have a dumb Rusher war again. Oh, and the TPS will actually be playable. Hopefully Hause can actually manage the server now. Also, we’ll prevent spawn from ever being griefed again, preserving the history of the server. I don’t think they felt like it.

The server doesn’t even need to be terraformed. There could be literally groups in 2b2t dedicated to protecting bases, fending off grievers, planting forests and building secret resource centers for new players.

@@redacted3300 There's obsidian and junk on top of the water. They'll spawn just fine. It'll just be significantly harder for new players to access the nether or acquire basic resources now.
It’d just further prove how powerful the II are. What they did made the server to owner intervene; something he rarely does especially since he hasn’t purposefully put plugins to prevent all hacks/cheats.
As cool as it is that they managed to pull this off, theres a big part of me that thinks it was a bad idea. The spawn ocean makes it so nearly all new players drown and therefore makes it no fun for those who aren't veterans. I understand that new young players can be seen as annoying, but without them the server will eventually die out when the old people move on. I feel that this project is going to come back at really bite in the long run.

You cant spawn in water, or lava it must be a solid block. New players wont spawn in the cube, they will just spawn father away from spawn.
@@redacted3300 There's obsidian and junk on top of the water. They'll spawn just fine. It'll just be significantly harder for new players to access the nether or acquire basic resources now.

As cool as it is that they managed to pull this off, theres a big part of me that thinks it was a bad idea. The spawn ocean makes it so nearly all new players drown and therefore makes it no fun for those who aren't veterans. I understand that new young players can be seen as annoying, but without them the server will eventually die out when the old people move on. I feel that this project is going to come back at really bite in the long run.

They can make a giant wood structure to make signs, thanks to the water, is impossible to grief with explosives or fire, and slower to grief by hand
