A few months ago, had anyone told you that you would be trapped on an Island fending off parasitic food creatures to save the inhabitants from a grisly fate, you would've laughed in their face. (Although at a safe distance, since that individual was clearly insane.) Then, what started as the Journalist gig of the century became exactly that. Thankfully, due to your Bugsnax allergy, you could use various traps to capture Bugsnax without fear of infection. This becomes a vital skill to have when you discover the Bugsnax are in fact hostile parasites that plan to kill and/or assimilate their hosts. Good thing you had a lot of practice beforehand. You recalled defending Filbo from a horde of hostile Strawbies, sending Ribblepedes flying, and turning various other parasites into mush due to your smartly placed traps. Once you returned from that exciting venture, hoping to write a story worthy of a Pawlitzer, you got something else, something of equal importance: You got fired. And you were pronounced legally dead. It wasn't all bad though. Filbo wanted to run a campaign to be mayor, and you were the first Grumpus he turned to. Naturally, you agreed. Flash forward to today, and now it's time for the final election. As his advisor, you wrote his speeches and gave encouragement from the sidelines. When traveling during the campaign, you checked up on your friends who escaped the Island. Wambus and Triffany managed to buy a farm and are able to grow the best crops around. Gramble started a successful Grootube series and made plenty of new friends, both in real life and online. Wiggles landed a gig as a singer in a club. She assured you that this is only the start of her career. Chandlo founded a gym and encourages others to be their very best. Snorpy found likeminded people who shares his intrigue of the Grumpinati, and formed a group hoping to uncover the secrets of the organization. Beffica, like Gramble, also found success online: as a popular Grumpstagram model. Even though she has new ones, she still considers you her number one Bestie. You haven't seen much from Cromdo, but judging by the stocks he's making, you had a feeling he's doing just fine. Shelda is a well-renowned psychic in her town, and much of her advice for the Mayoral Campaign helped a lot. Floofty still has her...quirks, but managed to get a job as a professor at a nearby university. "If only Liz and Egg can see us now." Filbo sighs as you finished reminiscing. "I'm sure they'll be proud of us." You say. You gave him the notes for his speech. "You think I'll be fine on my own?" Filbo asks. "I know so." You answer with a smile. The blue Grumpus smiles back as he begins to leave. You waved outside the window, and as soon as he's out of site, you picked up your phone. You had a few calls to make... 🍓🍔🍓🍔🍓 "Welcome back Filbo. Or should I say, Mayor Filbo!" You greeted the newly elected Grumpus. Filbo stares in awe at all his friends whom you called over from last night for a celebratory party on the beach. Everyone was here. Even Cromdo made an appearance! They all had their turn congratulating the cyan Grumpus, trying the food they all set out, and watch Wiggles put on a celebratory song. The revelry went on well through the day, when at sunset, you had the perfect lighting for a picture. "Alright everyone, gather round!" You called. You watch as the multitude of friends get in position. "Wait, but shouldn't you be in the picture as well?" Filbo asks. "I'm good." You assure him. "And besides, someone needs to take a picture." "Fair enough." He replies. You adjust the camera to the perfect angle. "Alright guys and gals! Smile!" It was the picture perfect ending of a picture perfect day. You say your goodbyes to your friends, promising to visit them soon. You and Filbo were going to head home until you see something wash up on shore. Curious, you walk over to see it was a bottle with a piece of parchment inside. You let Filbo open the bottle and read the note. You watch as a tear trail down his fur and a faint smile form. Peering over his shoulder, you see the note, written in ketchup and mustard, read, "I hope your dreams came out right. -Lizbert &Eggabelle" "They did." Filbo says softly as you pat him on the back. "They did." As you guide him home, you knew that everything, despite the lows, the terror, the inconveniences, was going to turn out right in the end. As you take one last look at the beach, you swore you saw something small and red skitter across the sand...
Can you make a story on the entire bugsnax game with like Chapters and stuff, from like meeting filbo, gathering the grumpuses, doing their side quests?

I know is funny to meme about Floofty's, but theirs is one of my favorites. Floofty clearly has a problem understanding emotions, not only those from others but also themselves. If you listen to their dialogue you get the picture of someone who wants the best for everyone but is incapable of understanding the complexity that comes from such a task. Since they don't understand their own emotions a lot of the times, they rationalize them, and since thats how they deal with their own stuff, they expect everyone else to do the same, and seems genuinely weirded out when they don't do it. When their own brother dies, they are clearly devastated, and yet they dont dwell on it much, they simply try to rationalize it, even when the task is so hard theyre aware they cant do it for too long. Many see Floofty as thinking everyone is bellow them, but in reality they have little regard for their own safety themselves, not even they think of themselves as important, they just think the wellbeing of their kind should go above everything else, including emotions and morals. Which is why is so important when they say they can't better the lives of others with science if they don't understand them. Human (grumpus?) connection is important, even if they can't understand emotions like others do, they can make an attemtp, and listen.
There's something very beautiful and fulfilling about the good ending of the game needing the MC to go through their side quest lines and helping each of them through their problems and personal matters. They all have such different but human problems that are very relatable. And through helping them and working together, they can move on from their problems and start a new chapter of theirs lives.
Saw you talking in the description about the lines that meant a lot to you, and I wanted to pop in and say that Shelda’s (Shellsy’s?) “I just need to be me, and those who listen, will listen” has stuck with me since I first beat the game EVEN THOUGH she and cromdo are probably tied for the character I am least emotionally invested in. I dunno I just think the notion of “I don’t need to be someone other than me to have a voice” is neat!

I dunno why, but Wiggle genuinely strikes me as unique among this cast of uncomfortably relatable characters. She's an honest performer who wants to make something she feels is really special and isn't just seeking to coast off fame. Her struggles to find inspiration aren't out of dispassion, but a misunderstanding of where it comes from. And her relationship with Gramble shows that to me, she certainly looks like she's going to take advantage of him and steal his snax, but it really seems like she was just as hungry as the rest of the town after Lizbert disappeared. And the way she's almost afraid of how she feels about Gramble throughout the game too, I wonder if she's aware of how deep his insecurities are and actively avoids acting on her feelings if her survival isn't on the line because she doesn't want to hurt him more
I know this can just be considered a "kids" game but this was the second time me seeing this scene yesterday (the PS4 version this time) and it just made me tear up slightly. I don't know why but this is pretty much one of the very few games that just puts a huge smile on my face for the entire time, I just love the character so much and the game overall. Hope if/when they do a second game its as good as this
I cried the first time I heard Escape from Snaltooth. And the time after that, and so on... That song is so sad, and I haven’t even played the game yet!

I was pretty sad to leave Liz and Egg behind when they sacrificed their freedom for me and my grumpus family. When we left, I felt hopeful that we’ll see them again someday.
Fan Character dialogue: I may not have been able to find my Dad, find a legendary artifact that could improve my engineering. But I think I found something even better, friends, long lost family with Filbo, and a new view on a new life I can take. A new road I will walk with others I meet, instead of hiding away in my shell if loneliness.
Whether it requires hacking or modding, I wanna see a player beat the game without feeding anybody any Bugsnax, just for the integrity of this ending. ..... ...And for aesthetically pleasing reasons.

And her relationship with Gramble shows that to me, she certainly looks like she's going to take advantage of him and steal his snax, but it really seems like she was just as hungry as the rest of the town after Lizbert disappeared. And the way she's almost afraid of how she feels about Gramble throughout the game too, I wonder if she's aware of how deep his insecurities are and actively avoids acting on her feelings if her survival isn't on the line because she doesn't want to hurt him more

I know this can just be considered a "kids" game but this was the second time me seeing this scene yesterday (the PS4 version this time) and it just made me tear up slightly. I don't know why but this is pretty much one of the very few games that just puts a huge smile on my face for the entire time, I just love the character so much and the game overall. Hope if/when they do a second game its as good as this

Fan Character dialogue: I may not have been able to find my Dad, find a legendary artifact that could improve my engineering. But I think I found something even better, friends, long lost family with Filbo, and a new view on a new life I can take. A new road I will walk with others I meet, instead of hiding away in my shell if loneliness.
