I like the duality of the song. The tune may sound cheerful and chatchy, but when you catch the lyrics's meaning, it shows the pressure, loneliness and how it can affect someone's mentality.
Typical Japanese depression song. It's actually sad but force to make it cheerful, so the listener feel motivated and entertained while they don't take the song serious. Same like when ure sad/depressed but u won't let anyone worries about u, so u stay cheerful in front of them....
Just noticed the MV after watching it over and over. But, hot dayum that's very dark. She just jumped from the building committing unalive then sprawled in the streets without anyone caring. 2:37 here she walks to her apartment windows, 2:43 is the jump, and then we see her broken phone screen, 2:51 we see her in the middle of the street (minus red liquid so it won't be pg 13) without anyone caring or helping. Shi- dayum. and maybe it's more clearly shown in the sequence from 3:15 onward. 3:38. also the end of 4:35 in one frame we can see her in her gloomy room. Enjoying the song is excellent already, but after actually focusing on the mv and watching the portrayed story, I can say that I have a new appreciation for the music.
Thank you for the write up on this Tcase! Went to go watch it again after your explanation and it's a lot darker than we initially thought it was (considering the lyrics are quite deep) 😭 What a beautiful song. There's so much going on to decipher and it feels like it's endless, a bit like the loop of Moona's twirl which we loved. A lot to unravel here and we love this!
The original lyrics in Bahasa Indonesia is more poetic and full of metaphor so it's a bit difficult to understand the meaning of the song if you listen to it at a glance, but luckily it translated literally in English, so we Indonesian can understand it easily
I just can't with this song man...like it sounds so cheerful and even when I didnt know what the lyrics were in English I still cried for what I thought to be no reason 😭
A song is soo cheerful but the meaning about this song is literally mentality of entertainer: need always look like joy in the camera and try hard to hide stress, or problem life, society...
This is quite a good song, though one that worries me some as this is something borne of some inner anguish. Much like the song says, it's easy to see a happy face value when the reality is quite different. It makes it a bit hard to appreciate what would be nice touches. Someone put it best: Everyone goes "Hey Moona, but never "How's Moona". I have to resist the urge to speculate possible connections to her booms with Japanese and western fans via the Pekora minecraft arc and 3rd fest. I'm tempted to put in the same sentence as Shallys, as this isn't something made for sale alone.
While being attentive to their mental health is always good, this song is not written by Moona. It surely has some inspirations taken from IRL, but that alone doesn't mean that it's a literal call for help. Just like how you should not worry too much about Ayase/YOASOBI writing so many dark songs about commiting unalive and stuffs.
all of Her original song tell stories of her journey as an Idol, this one have catchy beat but the lyric says otherwise it always "Hey Moona" but not many ask "How Moona" not only for a performer the lyric could also applied to those who work in public service or job that require talk/facing public. the song said the strongest shield, its a mask, when in public we all wore the mask even when our heart or feelings not daijobu
Never reveal what happend to you in front of all the people, just go make a "happy face" To covered your sadness, mans never reveal their sadness & problem to anyone😎

The beauty of the lyricism makes this so interesting to listen to 😭🙏 And Moona's beautiful vocals are a treat as always.
that actually reflects the meaning of the lyrics
lmao, literaly that yoasobi meme

Watching the MV again, I noticed that the Moona in 1:32 is actually laying on the pedestrian cross!
Moona sang a song about loneliness and depression
Them: *happy like hearing a Disney's song*
Why are all the depressing songs such a bop HAHA this was such a banger!
Japan: First Time?
@@gerdanbombales you mean Yoasobi?
The song is very catchy. Especially the "Ha ha ha" parts. It stuck in my brain.
We've been singing this part everyday ahaha. Way too catchy, love it!
So happy to get another original song from Moona, much love
Perisai Jitu (Perfect Shield) tells us entertainment life where every entertainer will always use cheerful face as their shield and hide sadness.
@surya raihan diterjemahkan Accurate Shield juga jadi lawak. Since "accurate" is more proper to be used for "aim/shot" or "prediction".
The original lyrics in Bahasa Indonesia is more poetic and full of metaphor so it's a bit difficult to understand the meaning of the song if you listen to it at a glance, but luckily it translated literally in English, so we Indonesian can understand it easily

It really is a masterpiece of a song and performance 😭🙏

Loving these songs where it sounds happy but then the lyrics are super deep and goes into so much detail.
To a degree, though one letting down their guard could allow for deeper bonds, Aki is a good example.
The song is incredible moona did amazing job on it
She really gave us a fantastic performance once again!

I always love these happy sounding vibes with theses depressing lyrics. Always makes me want to listen to this song.
me when I'm listening to
Ai no Chiisana Uta : Mellow
High Tide : Goosebump
Perisai Jitu : HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAAAAH!!!
This is a song that I can play at my family gathering because it sounds like early Indonesians 2000's song..
the first time i heard it i thought it was a happy song but after knowing the lyrics i felt yoru ni kakeru vibe
This tends to happen a lot it seems 🤣 Same for Shoujo Rei!

Literally she has no bad song in my opinion.
All of 'em is BANGER!
Now Moona had 3 Original with three different languages, one for each of them.
とてもいい動画です!
ラプラスの一周年とてもすごかったですよ!
見てくれて本当にありがとう!We will watch Laplus' live soon! We're excited!
