      I own one and it can't be beat for price to quality ratio if you are into the Beretta 92 style. I'm pretty sure all the parts are machined with no mim or plastic. New Beretta 92's have some plastic parts. Only thing I wish the front sight was changeable to fiber optic. Just me but I hate plastic parts and guide rods. You could by three of these for the price of a M9A3. Personally I also like the finger grooves on the Regard

    I’ve had Beretta’s for years and they are my favorite. I have to say the Girsan Regard is every bit as good as a Beretta. The only thing I did was replace the recoil and hammer springs with Wilson Combat springs. I do that to all my Beretta pistols as well. I’ll probably put a skeletonized hammer and a Wilson Combat rear battle sight on it as well. I’m very happy with it. If you don’t want to spend for a Beretta the Regard is an excellent option.

    Two days ago I was at a gun show looking to help my dad find a good deal on a concealable handgun for personal protection. He didn't like any pistols but fell in love with a particular revolver instantly after holding and examining it and got a great deal on it. After the background check cleared and he got to take the revolver with him, we started looking for a rifle for me. I didn't find what I was looking for, so I started looking at handguns because why not? I was leaning toward either a Tokarev or 1911, but we ended up back at the vendors who sold my dad his brand new revolver. One of them asked what I was looking for, and I still wasn't sure. After learning that when it comes to handguns I favor hammer fired pistols, he pulled one of these out of the display case, and I recognized it as a Beretta 92. It was quite a surprise to learn it was a clone. He pointed out all the differences, which mostly seemed cosmetic and showed me how it functions. It thought it was a really cool gun, so I took it home for $380 even, tax and transfer fee included. Can't wait to try it at the range this Wednesday!

    I don't know if anyone else has caught this before me, but a couple times I heard you say that Girsan has been in business since 1991. Well, that's only about 100 years off, lol! They have actually been making firearms since 1880, give or take! I assume you know that, and the 1991 was just a slip of the brain on your part, right? I love my MC, am actually going to shoot it today! Thanks for all your reviews, I've bought more than one gun from them, starting with the Grand Power K100, which I still have!!

      @@bripro68 they are but here's the twist. Beretta magazines will feed and function one hundred percent but I have found that my US GI Surplus magazines especially will not lock back after the last round. The remedy to this is to change out the slide stop to a Beretta 92 / M9 slide stop. After that you can run the Girsan magazines or any Beretta magazine whether it be Metgar or US GI Surplus they will all feed function and lock back after the last round. If you remove both slide stops and place them on the table and compare just visually you can see that the Girsan slide stop is angled differently and slightly shorter than the Beretta where it catches the follower. My guess is they did this so they could sell their own magazines at a higher price.

    The Regard also does not have a crowned barrel, or a staked firing block pin. Another thing that is important is magazines, the Regard is finicky with Beretta factory magazines and hates check mate contract magazines. By swapping out the slide lock with a Beretta factory part this will cure the issue. This model has been imported by American Tactical, Zenith, Chiappa, and now EAA.They are decent pistols once the magazine issue is resolved.

    Works fine for Turkish cops and military. Passed mil-spec tests tougher than the M9 and M11 went through. The block changes increase service life of that part. Not often you can get more of what really counts and pay less.

      @@RJ-oi3ck Would have to get it from Girsan. While most of the Beretta/Girsan parts interchange, the blocks and slides do not. Since blocks are the part most likely to be replaced in a gun shot a lot over a long time, it keeps that money in Girsan's pocket.

I took the Girsan out first time last Saturday ran 300rds of various ammo including Russian steel case surplus that is soft and had NO ISSUES cycling, FTE/FTF, stovepipes or anything. I’m surprised how the trigger weighs on scale as it doesn’t feel that heavy when I shoot, and in Single action was a breeze. I had no issues on “Defensive” accuracy staying on target rapid fire, not about tightness of groups. I found the sight a little low at 10 learned to adjust and solid shooter

    I've watched this video i dont know how many times. I wanted a hammer fired pistol for a little while now after owning a few striker fired. Not saying striker fired is bad but a change. I ended up picking up this firearm today and had some issues of a live round pushing the spent round back in the chamber. Out of 200 rounds its happened roughly 8 times. Not blaming the firearm because it literally went straight from the counter, up the stairs and right into the range. I'm guessing it needs a break in period or maybe a wipe down and better than the factory lube that came with it that it was coated in. All in all with the issues I've had in the 1st 200 rounds I still like this gun, I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm happy I found this review of the gun before I bought something else. Thanks sootch00

    Excellent review as always. I have watched your review on the Taurus PT 92 as well. Which of the two would you recommend if you had to choose one? I am not sure which to go with? I feel parts will be easier to obtain with the taurus, but what is your opinion? Thanks

    For anyone on the fence just buy it. The pistol is NATO approved and a standard issue sidearm for the Turkish military. I stumbled across this gun used a few months ago for a steal and it's quickly became one of my favorite handguns to use. It feels like quality in the hand, on par with any Beretta I've handled bar the elite models and of course better than any I've ever been issued. So far I haven't found a single Beretta part that doesn't work including a g kit, threaded barrel, grips (with very minor fitment), Wilson springs, and mags. It fits in all the quality surplus Beretta holsters flooding the market. The guns only downside (unless you hate finger grooves) is it has a fixed front sight like the m9a1 and there's only a couple companies milling these out anymore. This gun is a no brainier at the price we've been seeing them.

      God damn! I'm sorry that guns cost so much where you live. Where I live in the United states.. it's a place called new hampshire. The Sig Sauer firearm manufacturer and Ruger are both in this state. I paid $450 USD for my regard mc. And given the fact that it's an import of such excellent quality I'm amazed I really am that this firearm was available at that price. But God damn three grand for a beretta? Jesus Christ that's ridiculous. They're a great gun yeah but I wouldn't pay three grand I mean I know you don't have a choice in the matter apparently but Jesus Christ why are they so expensive in your country? The import costs alone certainly do not make it that expensive I'm guessing your government is dipping their hands into it they must be.

    • @SouthOfSanity79
      @SouthOfSanity79 2 года назад +1

      @@MrLarrana that's exactly what I paid for mine here in New hampshire. Only 450 no taxes. I'm surprised people can buy that in new jersey. Do you have the high capacity magazine? Or are you limited to 10 rounds? Here in the great state of New hampshire.. you can literally buy whatever you want. I picked up a beautiful AR-15 a few months ago. Background check paid the money and then boom I walked right out the door with it. You can do that in Vermont New Hampshire and maine. Any other New England State and yeah you can't do that. In Massachusetts you can't have an ar-15. I wanted to give my son in law my shotgun but because it has a pistol grip and a six round magazine I can't give it to him. Fucking ridiculous.

    Got mine for 300 OTD. At that price it’s a steal. Own a 92FS as well, and I would say it’s on par with the Beretta. I find the Girsan to be slightly softer shooting though.

    Girsian. SAR USA. Canik . All great guns out of Turkey at a great price. Get them while u can. I just bought this version for $408 out the door. I own an M9 A1 and can vouch for quality. If Beretta is a 10 in fit and finish the Regard is 9 with that same super smooth action.

    That is a good looking pistol, love the FDE color. I have seen quite a bit of guns pouring into the country from Turkey. I know a lot of people are not fans of Turkish firearms and I don't know why all the hate. Guns are produced all over the world and I think it's a mistake to dismiss the offerings from Turkey. I for one see this pistol making it's way into my collection. Another great review brother, always appreciate your no nonsense videos. Hope you and the family are doing good, cheers!
