I was afraid the poor little otter was going to be eaten by the gator until I saw the gator trying to climb up the bank to safety and the otter pulled it back saying, “we’re not done yet, you started this”.
Omg! I was thinking the same thing! I've only seen otters being cute and sweet, and breaking open clams on their bellies with a rock. I've NEVER thought of an otter beating a gator's azz. Small, young Gator but ....just look at that!😮😮😮
Hey wicks, fun fact: mongoose hunt snakes. Otters are cousins and in the same family as mongoose. So you have a water born tube sock of anger and hate. The more you know.
Actually otters arent related to mongooses. It seems like they should be, but otters are mustelids, the family that includes wolverines, badgers, minks ferrets and the honey badgers. All those creatures are no joke. Mongooses are in tge same family as meerkats, i cant remember the family name tho. But youre right, they are indeed a force to be reckoned with.
Otters are vicious weasels - DO NOT BE FOOLED by their cuteness, especially when they travel in a pack. As a Floridian who lived very close to KSC, I speak from experience. They hiss and are territorial.
@@GreyWalker-isme Otters are in the lutrinae subfamily which is part of the mustelidae family (i.e. weasel, otters, mink, wolverines, badgers, etc.) When folks think of otters they generally think of the cute ones floating in a harbor and smashing urchin with a rock on their belly or holding hands with their mates so they don't drift away from each other in the water. Rarely would anyone think of the almost 6' Giant River Otter of the Amazon that has no known actual predators. I'm gonna say that last bit again. An otter that lives around jaguars, cougars, anacondas, caiman, piranha, and sometimes electric eels and stingrays has no real natural predators or major threats to their lives besides humans. My point is, mustelids are all very similar. They're all bloodthirsty, but we're usually only thinking about them holding hands in the water instead if dragging gators back to its den for lunch.
@@sgtslaughter54 I guess being from the east coast, I don't really give sea otters a second thought. Wait until they find out about the pink amazonian dolphins

Otters are cute, but vicious. They eat 10 times their size. They will clean out large ponds of fish, shrimp, etc. (Farm raised) They cleaned out several ponds that belonged to an Ag. Program. It was only 4 or 5 otters. 😂
Mr. Otter to the swamp puppy: "I told you not to come around here! Let me show you the door and if I see you again I won't be so nice next time because I will have a couple of friends with me!!!!"

I've been here 40yrs, seen a lot, but have never seen those two fighting..Cool video, and otters are crazy, remember the old man that got attacked, the otter chased him down, would not give up..poor guy
I was just in Islamorada and saw a crocodile in the water. People were freaking out seeing a croc, I am from Florida and it was really cool and unusual to see
Hey @wicks here’s a idea for a shirt a otter and gater are having a stare down and the otter says “bring me the Gater” like instead of a big broad going after a skinny drunk dude and she’s “bring me the boy” the otter can be like bring me the gator’ 😂
Lucky that was just a baby gator. But otters can be vicious, do not mess with them, they look cute and cuddly but they will tear you a new one in a heartbeat
Otters are mean little badasses. They look cute, but don't be fooled. I watched one mess a hog dog (about an 80lb pit bull) up. Dog needed stitches on his nose and ear. Ear was almost completely ripped off.

That otter was riding that gator like a pony 😂😂😂
The alligator was like "let me out of the water" and the otter PULLS IT BACK IN!
😂😂😂
Every morning otter gets up, and chooses violence😅
Otters are the honey badgers of the water.
Yes, especially those 6-ft giant river otters in the Amazon!
FACTSSSSS
Both are mustelids.
First time I ever seen a gator wanna escape by getting OUT of the water
And the first time I've seen something pull a gator back into the water. 🤣
As soon as you named the contestants my money went straight to the otter. Otters play, but they don't play.

If a gator and an otter are in a tussle, you know it was the choice of the otter.
Otters do be black air force. Don't let their cute looks fool you. Add the Florida force multiplier and my money's on the otter too.
I'm hip on Otters, but didn't even think about the Florida multiplier. Poor Allie never stood a chance.
People have "Monkeys on their back" Gators have Otters on their back.

other than sea otters, (completely different animal) you won't find ANY of these animals in a harbor

My money was on the otter as well, one thing animal planet has taught me is that small animals are more ferocious than the big ones
If I hadn't seen it I would L d think the otter would be gone running scared.
The gator looks about the size of an iguana
na, iguanas get 6 feet long or better
