Hi Josie, the tips are great and I love all your videos. BUT I have to agree with many other comments on the cheap looking clothes/shoes. They are NOT you and I bet they won’t “be in my closet year after year” like you swear by with many of your higher quality and classier outfits. Pls reconsider when you take up sponsorship as you are not convincing if these clothes are not you at all... keep up with the good content Josie!

My style is entirely different from yours, and yet you’re my favorite fashion RUclipsr! Thanks for the well thought-out content, Josie. When’s the winter edit coming? I’m so looking forward. ❤️

Josie, Amazon has horrible work conditions for its employees. It also has horrible economic practices with in the industry and its sub contracts. The quality of the clothing is no better then any fast fashion chain. I think you knew that because you did not talk about quality and you usually do.
Your style is impeccable. I apologize but I don’t support this Partnership. Also I don’t believe you would wear the coats you showed.

is it horrible only in their fashion brands? Because I need a lot of books in college that I can only find in Amazon :/ now I feel like I'm a bad person

    • @alwaystpring
      @alwaystpring 5 лет назад +1

@Cindy. I just read a fairly recent Newsweek and Guardian article and it's not just clothing, but warehouse workers, mostly. I'd order everything possible from your local bookshop or second hand book sites, like ZVAB in Germany.

alwaystpring wow, I'll do my best. Thank you

Totally agree with you about not being believable that Josie would wear this brand otherwise we would have seen her supporting them before? Also agree that the quality doesn't look better than any other high street retailer
However, I've done a lot of research on Amazon for a thesis- they actually enforce a lot stricter supply chain regulations than many of the high-street retailers like Topshop, Primark and H&M so I'm always pretty cautious about believing what I read on that front. My cousin works in one of their warehouses up North and said he's never seen the working conditions outlined in articles - this is just the UK but I thought it was worth mentioning :)

    • @AngelicWitch444
      @AngelicWitch444 5 лет назад

@@YorkSIFE1 thanks that's really useful. I'm mexican and I'm not sure of how is it here and most of the times, the books I need are not in local bookshops or second hand and if they are, the shipping it's way more expensive than the book itself :/

As I watched this, I thought "Aha!" All the fun looks you show, however, affordable alternatives. I know I scan the consignment shops for certain key items, and if I can't find them there, I head to an online retailer to fill in those gaps in my wardrobe. One of the Chloe purses costs more than every item in my wardrobe combined! I know - because I use a style app to log items and looks - so that's my tip for dreary winter clothing planning; take the advice of rainy day outfit combo planning, and throw it into an app that calculates cost per wear, least worn, most worn, never worn items! We love the looks! We also love seeing how to accomplish them on any spending level! Thank you Josie!

Most of my outfit ideas have come from you. I thank you. I’ve never had a good eye for fashion. I grew up with three brothers and 5 male cousins, so you can only imagine. Now that I’m married and I’m a mom, and I’m exposed to other moms, I want to dress better. Because unfortunately the first thing people notice is what you’re wearing. I love your pair of boots. Thank you again... looking forward to more fashion ideas from you. Happy Holidays :)

I'm really sorry because I like a lot of your videos, but these clothes and footwear look so cheap, I don't believe for one second that we'll see you wearing any of them in the future, which seems like such a waste, and not true to your brand. Personally, I can't afford clothes from the higher-priced high street shops, but I would so have preferred to watch a video of you either buying more sustainable items, or finding clothes in charity shops and then styling them. Obviously you wouldn't get money from a paid promotion, but you would be supporting ideals that a lot more of us could get on board with.

If you shop at secondhand stores, you better be prepared to search every inch of the clothing for bed bugs (and to put them in the dryer on the hottest setting once you get them home, if you can). Having dealt with bed bugs, let me tell you, it's something you never want. It's a nightmare. And secondhand/charity shops are ripe. Everyone bangs on about shopping secondhand, but no one speaks about the huge downside of it, nor what to do/look out for to prevent it!

Those tips were great Josie, especially the one about balancing your silhouette, very helpful. This may be the first time unfortunately that I may not have liked a couple of the pieces, the quality seems lower than what you usually share with us e.g. the silver skirt, not sure about this partnership with Amazon Find to be honest. The Leopard print dress was definitely a winner though 10:12, especially paired with the over the knee boots! Maybe this could be an opportunity to do more videos on budget friendly elegant style pieces that still look very chic and make great gifts during this season. Like from thrift stores and clearance sales perhaps. I hope for more tips too on jewellery and accessories for the winter :)

Josie I love your vlogs as always and love all the clothes I’m so similar to
You, but the silver skirt and jumper were a no no your to classy for them they did not look nice together and they looked a bit cheap. But the only clothing I didn’t like but everything else you look fabulous xxx💕🤗

    1. dress for the weather, 2. dress for the occasion, 3. dress the body you have, 4. stick to your capsule wardrobe, 5. only buy quality. The season, the trends, and fashion will change but your style doesn't have to. Wellingtons and Hunters are snow boots - those were hiking/work boots you were showing.

    • @MyFriendlyGiant

    Nice jumper!
In recent years, I have also changed my clothes to classic colors. Unfortunately, white doesn't look good on me, so I use creamy tones.
To avoid fluffs, you should not hang bright mohair sweaters near the dark clothing in the closet.
Can you iron the metallic skirt from the left?

Great tips! My biggest winter tip is to pay attention to the CBS- coat, bag and shoes or footwear of choice suitable for the climate.
Leather and wool breathe better keeping one warm and dry even if they need more care.
It’s the bits most people see of you in the winter & even when you arrive somewhere, it’s that first impression thing.
I like to spend a bit more on those 3 plus a good cashmere scarf and lined leather gloves.
It sets the tone and the tops & bottoms I choose underneath don’t have to cost much at all as long as they blend well. The eye continues to register the accessories and the general first impression of the CBS.
For casual outdoor activities most Canadians like me ALSO like to have a good parka and snowmobile boots with liners that can be pulled out & dried between wearing. A cheery colour toque and mitts and you’re set for winter fun.

Great video! My tip is to switch my foundation for something lighter like a tinted moisturizer or just a heavy mattifying sunblock. I know this seems a bit odd, but I find that my skin looks better in the winter when it is more moisturized because the cold weather makes my foundation make me look dry and ... cake-like. I know most people think this tip is more suited for the summer, but I find that I'm more likely to want to be "photo-ready" in the summer when I am wearing less clothing and my face needs to match my shoulders (which is basically an impossibility w/o fake tan). Anyway, thanks for sharing your advise and keep the great content coming. Thanks :)

Josie, I find it very difficult to look good during winter.
Firstly, I am driven by sunshine. My mood totally changes in winter. Secondly, my main concern is to stay confortable and warm.
I stopped buying winter coats because I always end up wearing my uniform which consists of boots, turtle neck and a light nylon jacket.

Josie this is gonna sound creepy and crazy . But if I could I would hug you. Everyone going on about AMAZON fashion and I just thought nah it can't be worth it. So basically I've been eyeing this All Saint white aviator jacket . But it's lamb skin and real sherling. So I've been trying to find a faux version for the past year found nothing. And where do I find it? On the least place I thought I would but I did thanks to you xxxx

Josie! Do you have any recommendations on warm WATERPROOF things that are stylish! I can't drive and so when it's raining and have to make that mad dash home from the train station I get soaked! TheTeaQueen I invested in a simple, waterproof black coat (it’s a north face) that I can wear with pretty much everything. I also grabbed a pair of rain boots from Walmart for $30, and I wear them several times a week! They are rubber, but the legs of the boot have a cloth fabric and zipper that makes it look nice for every day. Hope this helped!

I'm confused by the complaints below about pairing with Amazon Find. I follow you for ideas about fashion and style. Not for the exact designers you buy.
If I see something I like on your channel, I look for a close match in the stores I prefer to shop, in my price range, and considering what is available in my country.
If you don't like Amazon, take these great style ideas to a store you do like.

Made it to the boots and that was far enough. Typically love your videos but these items look crazy cheap. Not a fan of the sponsored videos if it’s something you obviously wouldn’t buy.

Honestly, I'm not sure you know what COLD WEATHER feels like, when the temperatures drop below ZERO and the wind chill matches that negative below zero temperature. Does London drop into the single digits!?
Parkas, hats, scarfs and big gaudy boots are what keep us warm in Minnesota, USA. December through March we don't have OPTIONS to dress fru-fru like what you are sharing. This video is for October/November weather deep South but nice try. I'm always very amused by the fabulous finds you share. You mean well. :)

Hi Josie, I usually love your videos so much-especially your focus on quality over quantity and sustainability. However, this Find brand is the embodiment of fast fashion-cheaply made products by workers who are underpaid, in a manner that is detrimental to our environment. I wish you’d done more research to introduce to us a sustainable brand-for there are many on Amazon! I’ve linked a site here: www.thegreenergirl.com/sustainable-clothing-amazon/ and I hope that perhaps you could follow this video up with some products from these brands. Thank you for your hard work creating content for us. I really do enjoy your work, but I felt the need to speak up here because this brand seems highly inconsistent with everything you value. Since there are so many good alternatives on Amazon, i wanted to share. Have a great day.

I have only just found time to watch this vlog but I really do wish it had been earlier so I could fight in Jose’s camp. Is this a group of people who have singled Josie out for their own benefit because I can see absolutely no ground or need for this tirade of vitriol from self acclaimed fans❓❓‼️‼️ Just because you don’t like the clothes does not automatically make them distasteful. I looked up a lot of them just to try & work out your objections & I’m still utterly baffled. This seems more like a targeted, deliberate put down of a talented, kind, experienced vlogger with more integrity than these responders can lay claim to. If you don’t like, don’t watch. No one forces you too.

Hi Penny, I have to say that I don't think that the people who have left negative comments are singling Josie out at all. A lot of people have said that they like the style tips (and obviously as subscribers we like Josie herself!), but were just pointing out that the quality of the clothes wasn't up to what we usually see Josie wearing. Usually Josie talks about the quality of the clothes that she's advertising (and this was an ad), but she didn't talk about this at all in this video, which was unusual. I also think that feedback is not a bad thing for a blogger, although I definitely agree that it should be put across in a polite way. Some people might also say that Josie advertising clothes that she wouldn't wear herself may lack a certain degree of integrity (if we see these clothes popping up in future videos we'll be proved wrong!). The style tips could easily have been combined with pieces that she already has in her wardrobe. And of course, there is also the issue of Amazon itself, and their work conditions, but that's a whole other discussion.

kirsten jenson Hi Kirsten, thank you for your sincere & polite reply. Sadly the Amazon problem runs right through the clothing trade & I have recently signed a 38 Degrees petition to get Amazon to pay the proper amount of UK tax. If you already know about 38 Degrees, apologies in advance, but otherwise you might find it interesting. It really is “people power” & that can only be a great thing. Very kind regards & Happy Christmas. Penny X
