      I was told by my Surgeon to bring my premiere protien drinks to the hospital to drink 24 hrs after surgery . I was also told by her to drink at least 3 of them per day for the next two weeks 30 MLS at a time. Are you saying that you shouldn't drink those for 2 weeks after surgery? Now I'm so confused!!! I've been drinking 3 of them a day now for 7 day post OP. (I had my surgery 8 days ago)

    Yes I’m not a great cook , so with that said , I made my own broth before and after ! So easy to do and I took a normally tuff roast or a whole uncooked chicken and tons of veggies and spices. When done strain it,I put it in canning jars which is also easy. Just make sure their clean and either warm from the oven or right out of the dishwasher you wanna put hot food into hot containers and then put the lid on and if it pops you’ve sealed it for years😘Also you don’t need powder protein at all because home made is loaded with it!!!

    Ok so I did the bone broth recipe just the way she said it. My problem was that after cooking it for 48 hrs the whole chicken fell apart. Do u know how many little tiny bones a chicken has?! I strained it and will be eating the broth. I thought I might use the rest later in my soft food stage. So Then I tried to pick out all those bones. Nope not feeling comfortable with those bones. If u swallowed one of those it would be bad! So I'm thinking a better way might be picking the meat off of most of the bone. Maybe leave some bigger bones that don't fall apart. Just don't put the whole caucus in. U will regret it.

    • @ProteinTreatsKitchen
      @ProteinTreatsKitchen  7 лет назад +7

      Yes, you will need to strain the bones for sure, but it's the actual nutrients from the bones that disintegrate that are so good for you!

    • @theresebizabishaka7605
      @theresebizabishaka7605 6 лет назад +4

      If you're not really interested in using the meat you can also make bone broth from chicken carcasses that have already had the meat removed. Ask your butcher if they have any. They still have scraps of meat on them which helps add flavour. Alternatively just make beef bone broth which makes dealing with the bones much easier. Again ask your butcher for bone specifically for making broth. They should have them out back. Plus when cooking use a tablespoon of two of vinegar which helps release calcium etc from the bones.

    I wonder if making a beef or chicken aspic would be helpful..? I'm considering bariatric surgery and one of my concerns is the clear stage. There are so many sweet options out there, but very few savory.

      Herb-Ox low sodium is what the hospitals use. You can purchase packets or jars on Amazon.

    I just started my 2 week pre-op diet, but it is soo different to this one that is talked about. My doctor has me on 1 nutrition drink for breakfast and lunch, then 4-6 ounce meat (chicken or fish-no red meat) and 2 vegetables, for dinner. When I asked about doing the liquid diet, I was told not to do it not until the day before surgery. But, I am thinking I will stick with the diet I am on and then try the liquid diet a few days to a week before. That way hopefully everything will work out and there will not be a problem. I am curious though, I cannot find this bitsy. Where do I look? You mentioned something about finding it with an account. What do I need to have an account with to get to this bitsy?

      She commented on a 4 year old sub comment, that bitsy is no longer supported. Meaning not around anymore. But there are tons of videos and more on RUclips and google

      It’s more unhealthy to go around perm 100 lbs obese. Your body will adjust to a quick loss and even out, when you’re obese or morbidly obese every day is unhealthy.

      Some pre-op have u on a strict diet. My surgery is 12/7/2020 and I am on a clear liquid diet this week. You go from 2, 3, or maybe even 4000 calories a day down to a 100 or so. Furthermore, NO sugar. So 40 in 12 days, I can see that.
