Edit: Looks like with VisionOS 2 the mouse bug is fixed. Also, the wrap around display comes close to fixing the multi-window mirroring limitation. Saved guest profiles help as well with quick sharing.
If anyone knows of an elegant solution for immersive VR in Vision Pro straight from Sketchup or a .gltf file, please let us know!

Please and thank you!. I managed to export my sketchup model to a USDZ and plop it in my room. BUT it would not scale more than 32% so I couldn't walk through. SO CLOSE! This will be an absolute game changer. I'm chomping at the bit and furiously clicked on your video hoping you'd found a solution! Alas.

Why not just export a USDZ that you open in preview on AVP?

That works OK, but the end goal is to preserve Sketchup scenes, shadows, etc and be able to flip through them in full VR. With USDZ, you need a ton of space in the real world to walk through the model, or to settle with just viewing it small. Unless there is some USDZ feature I'm not aware of that can do this?

all those issues are fixed with the quest 3 people made tuns of apps for it such as simlab and sketch vr, since the quest does have actual controllers it works perfecly, i can make a whole house in an hour instead of 5 due to how easy it its when you have 3 dimentions

Is it not working with Mac Virtual Display? 🤔

you mentioned rendering took too long, I assumed you uses CPU rendering, which is sloooooooooooow.... For instant rendering, real time renderer are much recommended. Enscape is one extremely easy to use and incredibly fast with just typical graphic card (not gated to nVidia GPU only), it basically turns your sketchup model into a game with walking mode + VR support. But specifically Vision Pro? I think it is still too new and too niche for companies to tap into. As for Trimble....? I not going to hold my breathe they going to "improve" the software any time soon.

For the rendering portion, I meant the time it takes to find materials you like, set lighting, etc. Not CPU specifically. Usually, we just need a rough feel of a space to make a decision, and not something photorealistic.
I agree with you regarding Trimble. I keep dabbling in Blender and Shapr3D to see if I can port my workflow. Have you made a switch off of them? Any recommendations?

@@bellrisefarm Enscape have material tags which vastly speed up generic material setup. Literally just name it with keyword, "wood", "metal", "gold".... The software takes care of the setting. More software should do this, why are we manually import and adjust generic materials over and over and over....? The included asset library also good enough for generic decorations, since it is real time, lighting is just a matter of finding a good time of day and color temperature, very very easy compared to any other renderer plugins I used before (vray/thea).
I'm on Sketchup for over 13 years, don't really have the time and will to learn other software so far. Will it benefit me greatly if learn Blender? Absolutely, because I work with game assets. But... no will to do so.

Alright I'm sold. I'll give Enscape a shot to see what I'm missing out on. Thanks for the tip!

I really like the exterior design of this building. What is the "footprint" size of the building? Is there a video of the build of it and/or the floor plans? Thanks!

The black barn is 45x24. The main house is around 76x38 as shown in the video, but we have since reduced it down to 68x34. Our first pass was way oversized. We're trying to do all of this ourselves, so no plans anywhere online at the moment.

@@bellrisefarm Thanks! BTW, I watched the video because of the building design, not for the Vision Pro!

Hah! Good to know. Once the design is finalized we'll have a digital walkthrough and go over some of the more interesting parts.
