  • I have just returned from my trip to Istanbul and I had to publish these tips to photograph strangers immediately! In these past days in Istanbul, I found that my Street Photography was pulled to a completely different place, because of the influence this trip had on me.
Thanks to all the amazingly friendly people I met, I was always drawn to photographing portraits. And not only candid shots, but actually asking people to pose for me in the street. And the language barrier was never a problem, thanks to my approach and the tips I mention here.
While you watch this video, I'm busy putting together all the content I filmed and photographed in Istanbul so make sure you subscribe now so you won't miss any of it.
You might see some of your favourite RUclipsrs in the coming videos: Roman Fox, Faizal Westcott, Gareth Danks... Many of us were there at the same time and we all got fantastic experiences to share.
By the way, I'm still trying to find a good setup for filming in my new studio... What do you think about the "friendly podcast" approach? Too close maybe... I'll try a wider angle.
I also recorded with my streaming software (Ecamm) which weirdly saved in 4:3 rather than 16:9. Well, at least it looks like the trendy Super8 format. But I'll figure that out too.
I leave you to the video. Please enjoy and let me know in the comments if you have other tips to share to take photos of strangers in the street. The comment section is all yours!
    :)
And if you fancy giving a tip for my tips... ;)

That was pretty bad. Enough to make me avoid even thinking about visiting again ☹️
