@@grubbybum3614 he was pointing out that on one side of the door (the left side) there were feathers and not on the other, pretty much guessing that whatever left the feathers went through the hole in the wall which is why he assumed an actual owl left them after killing the baby snake, hence why big momma snake is guarding the back door

Here's something interesting that I recently discovered; if you find the *Pure White Pinwheel* and give it to Kotaro, he asks if you would "Divine Abduct" him...he disappears like the Senpou Monks and REAPPEARS at the Hall of Illusion playing with the Rejuvenating Children!! You cannot see the children, but Taro loves where he ended up!
Like what you're trying to do by connecting gun fort to Ashina outskirts and Ashina Castle but there are two more guys in towers at the Old Grave idol that are like Mr./Mrs. Cannon person at 1:13. Just wanted to point them out too.

And the hand gestures the statues are making are the same. They're called mudras. The mudras are Tripataaka ("Thunder/Tree") and Varada ("Wish Fulfillment") One statue is made of wood, which symbolizes fortitude. Another statue is made of stone, which symbolizes immortality. The wooden statue is holding a snake skin, not a dead baby snake. I think that symbolizes evolution/growth/healing/immortality. The stone statue is holding a dried viscera but it's surrounded by what looks like fresh blood and a bunch of dead bodies. The visceras are mentioned to be poisonous if consumed, so I'm guessing the remains of the bodies all tried to drink the blood of a fresh serpent viscera ("dragon's blood") and they all died as a result. This explains why the blood looks fresh, because it doesn't age. And the viscera doesn't decompose, because the snake was immortal but not invincible. Plus, if you read the description for poison powder and several crafting materials, it basically ties a story together about the Sunken Valley Denizens (who are descendants of the okami aka "dragon" clan) who mine for ores to forge Ashina weapons.
"But what happens to long-arm centipedes is a different story" Okay then, what exactly happened to them? And why is the reason they are presented in Senpou? That's really a question that I actually want answer for all the time since i've played this game
Consider during Kotaro's quest that giving him the pure white pinwheel allows you to spirit him away with Divine Abduction, and he ends up in the Halls of Illusion, which lead to the Inner Sanctum, where the Divine Child of Rejuvenation is, and leads to the Main Hall in Senpou Temple, where the High Priest hangs out before you get the Gun Fort Key, who relocates to the tunnel past the Main Hall with the Holy Chapter: Infestation in hand.
So I went back to that shrine, and looked for more clues regarding the feathers. I don’t believe the Centipedes are members of the Sunken Valley Clan. We find another Centipede group in Senpou, and this made me think maybe they invaded Senpou, but it’s possible that it’s the other way around. When reach the idol before Snake Eyes Shirafuji, we encounter a ‘rat’ npc; Senpou Assassins. He claims the Gun Fort was too difficult to infiltrate, but what if Senpou sent another group from behind? Or perhaps from below? The Centipedes perhaps entered thru the mountain using their wall crawling capabilities, and attacked the shrine from below thru that hole we find. It does look like a fight broke out in the Gun Fort shrine and the owl feathers could be what’s left of the bombs used by those temple monks. This could also explain why we find Sunken Valley members outdoors and not inside the fort.
I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this, but the sunken valley clan basically co-exists with the great snake (sort of) and while these ladies are 'descendants of the okami warriors' we also need to remember the lore points to them possibly being the bewedded to the great snakes, and if I understood correctly, they were kinda the reason why Ashina rose to their current state (by offering brides to the giant snakes). I haven't really found any specific lore behind the centipede enemies, but the Senpou monks' obsession with them could simply be symbolic, as they use the actual centipedes to infect themselves and reach the 'immortality' they perceived as their ultimate goal. Additionally, the centipedes could be some of the failed children the Senpou temple produced? I dunno, digressing too much already!
Great video! The wooden statue of the goddess with the snake in the gun fort temple could be Benzaiten (Sarasvati). She was often represented with a white snake. Wonder if there is a connection between her and the Fountainhead Palace. Taken from Wikipedia: "Benzaiten was the third daughter of the dragon-king of Munetsuchi (無熱池; literally "lake without heat"), known in Sanskrit as Anavatapta, the lake lying at the center of the world according to an ancient Buddhist cosmological view."
We found the gun fort key in Kuro's library in Ashina castle. May mean that either a) the clan has been working for Ashina enough for them to trust the key to Ashina, or b) there was a battle between them and the Ashina, wanting to protect the secret of the snake behind the door, stole the key.
Couple of things I encourage you to go back and look at; first, there are two other cannon gunners protecting the other side of Ashina castle. Second, there are in fact more owl feather on the other side of that door. Third, no cannon gunners appear amongst the Sunken Valley residents. It may be that a few of the Sunken Valley Tribe decided to work with Ashina and had their weapons upgraded as reward, but I think it's more likely that the bandages on all those enemies are meant to be functional, they're a period appropriate flame retardant, meant to keep black powder flashes from burning the skin. The centipede people are also bandaged, but I'm tempted to say that it is for yet another, different reason. In both Zen Buddhism( which the Senpou Temple practices a heretical version of), and also Shinto (which the Sunken Valley Tribe and Mibu Village both practice different heretical versions of) there's a very heavy handed equating of physical cleanliness and spiritual purity, so the centipede people are wrapped in bandages because they appear diseased and nobody want to risk their own spiritual purity by getting centipede goop on them. I think the centipede people are what happens when a Senpou Monk reacts badly to the introduction of the rejuvenating parasite. When it happens the monks just toss them down the mountain, that's why you only find centipedes in the lowest parts of Senpou and other lower places.
Good points! I wonder why the centipedes have those claws. if they were totally abandoned by the monks, they probably wouldn't have gotten special unique weapons. Also I would be curious to see if divine abduction works on centipedes that are not in the Senpou area. It seems a bit odd to me that the centipedes have their own temple in Senpou if they're just being chucked into the valley. It might be a "we just couldn't keep them out" thing because they can crawl around on walls. Also, the video of Creepling's about the mist nobles got me thinking that perhaps Sen'un and Giraffe are ogres. That's a stretch, but the only other large humanoids I can recall are the Owl, the drunkards, and the corrupted monk. I suppose there's those big guys in the sumo gear with the bells and hammers too... maybe never mind on that point! Anywho, another thing worth mentioning is that centipedes as a whole are a symbol of filth in Japanese spirituality (I only remember this from Bloodborne videos), so the idea that these fellas are called centipedes is a little strange because they don't have centipedes in them, whereas the monks who have literal giant centipedes in them are revered as holy. It's all very strange!
After watching one of your videos (Divine Children one) and walking through Senpou temple main grounds again, I noticed something very very eerie. You can see bodies on the ground - children bodies. The monks just threw them on the ground, not even in the valley.
i really like these videos, i hope you can record these in a higher resolution though. it was hard to notice in the video some of the details you're talking about because it looks so compressed. keep it up looking forward to more of these
in senpou temple near the first monk encounters, tucked away in a corner on the left, there’s a tied up charred corpse covered in feathers. i’m not sure who it is but it’s really interesting
In the ending needing the hearts we are the owl we even attack from above on a perch to kill the snake we are the owls successor I think maybe he was just like us at one point and made the wrong decision when faced with the master or the code
since I didn't see anyone mention this.... all the Sunken Valley clan appearance basically ripped straight from the animated movie 'Princess Mononoke" (by another Miyazaki), they were lepers in that movie (hence why the bandages) and they also used the same type of guns to protect their fort.
Could it be that the centipeds used by the monks for immortality comme from the sunken valley and that they took infected humans from there for their experimentation ?
Those feathers could be from the nightjar. And you find 2 or 3 nightjar in the sunken valley right before you reach that large group of monkeys. Perhaps Genichiro came here with some nightjar looking for the second mortal blade or the lotus of the palace.
I love the differences in the outlook of death in froms main games. In dark souls you have everones desire to end the immortality. Bloodborne has a desire to transcend humanity all together. And sekiro shows a desire to actually obtain immortality. I know there's small instances of each In each game. But the main points of the world's characters are like that. Love it.
Not sure if it was mentioned in the video but I wanted to point out that one of theprayer neclaces the player receives after getting enough beads states that all members of the Sunken Valley clan are female which is interesting.
I didn't realize that "mystery room" could be treated as "secret room". The first implies it has unanswered questions, the second - that the room itself is a secret. Huh :(
Creeepling man is implying you never showed a ROOM that was secret, VERY few people have missed out on this “mystery room” because it’s not a secret room
@@nickallison325 I do realize that it is sort of pointless to repeat myself, but I will do since you insist on misunderstanding. Secret means hidden, unknown. Mystery means hard to explain. I guess I will keep in mind that people tend to mistake things for each other like that
When I search this video the title is "Gun Fort: The Mystery Room - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Lore " but when I click the video it's a differnt title, what's going on here?
ATTENTION.....those feathers around the building they’re actually the feathers of the nightjar ninjas. Hopefully you know the ones I am talking about. You fight them later on in this very area (sunken valley) same area you fight all the monkeys
There is more to taro troop than you may think. I think it’s a reason they cry like babies and look like big babies. Lump of fat wax description deals with them
I thought Ashina used the fan to put the senpo monks in line and the sunken clan recognized the value of it and stole the fan from ashina storing it at that shrine.
I think that snake in the buddahs hand is just some snake skin that the great snake shedded, in ashina castle outskirts, you can find plenty of pieces of snake skin covering some mountains
When I first saw these Sunken Valley rifleladies, I thought of the hunters and riflemen of Lady Eboshi from Studio Ghibli’s “The Princess Mononoke.” Crackshots with their guns and very perceptive of their surroundings. That and the design of their crude rifles too.
If you did the crying monk quest. At some point he would ask you to “spirit him away” aka using Divine Abduction on him, saying he wants to see the children he was supposed to take care of again. If you did, he would disappear, similar to all other monks when being Divine Abducted. Later on, during the 4 Monkeys boss fight, you can see him again in the Hall of Illusions. And after the fight, you can come there and talk to him an he will be chilling there, even giving you a Taro Persimmon. So Divine Abduction transports Monks to the Hall of Illusions, confirmed?
Just so you know, as you are getting the senpou esoteric scrolls, centipedes are the only enemies you come up against. The scroll then talks about how their practise got taunted. You are asked to cleanse the temple, earlier. Ergo, Senpou temple was corrupted by the snake clan.
I also think it's interesting that the only way to progress in the Gun Fort is by getting the key in Lord Takeru's library. Maybe the Snake Eyes entrusted their distant relative Tomoe with the key? Or maybe Tomoe stole it, thinking the clan will try and get into the Fountainhead Palace?
I found a way to get to the Sunken Valley without beating Genichiro--go to the Old Grave in Ashina Castle with those two cannon guys posted up in watchtowers and veer left, go down the path and you'll find the Great Serpent Temple, commune with the idol there. From there, drop off the ledge once you find the stray cliff below you, and continue to your left, commune with the idol and you're free to explore the Sunken Valley and Gun Fort. You can kill the first Snake Eyes and the Giraffe Longarm Centipede boss at the Gun Fort, but unless you beat Genichiro, your way will be impeded because you don't have the key from Kuro's room. However, the Gun Fort it is a good place to farm XP if you need it.
Aaron Basiliere I mean, that’s the way you have to go to get to the Sunken Valley, doesn’t matter if you do it before or after Genichiro. That’s the only way there.
I've had this theory, 3 factons fighting for ashina, 1/ ashina clan just wanna love the dragon and let live and let die, 2/ ashina ultranationalist want to abuse dragon power to make troops for war and dominate the region, 3/ shinobi clan of owl secretly conspired a rebellion with support from the monks to trick civilians into immortality only to become infested beings used as cannon fodder.
Don't know if it's pointed out, but snakes don't actually have great vision- in fact in the US, there's a time of year where we have to be extra cautious because their vision is extra foggy and they'll strike at anything that moves nearby.
if you use divine abduction on the child Kotaru itll send him to the halls of illusion. id suspect if you use the fan on the monks itll send em all there as well. never knew about you could do that to the monks but now im really curious if theyre all trapped there.
Niiiice! Really glad someone is finally investigating this game. I'm on my second playthrough, and was intrigued by this room as well. So many interesting connections... I'm glad that, despite it's more concrete narrative, there are still mysteries to explore in Sekiro. Keep up the good work!
Heya! With this video, I am trying out a new format, where I talk mostly about my thoughts on some interesting details of Sekiro's lore, rather than presenting a fully shaped theory. This allows me to bring more videos out for you guys - a well-built theory takes a lot of thought process. Some of the facts here might be slightly less accurate in these, but that's part of the point! I'll be glad if you point them out, that will help with actual theories :) If you enjoy this format, I should be able to bring out new videos twice a week or more, rather than just once a week. Tell me if you liked this, then I can make more! :)
its just weird the connections between centipedes, snakes and dragons this game has, all these creatures are worshipped, they are long, they all have a connection with inmortality
Imho this is not a dead snake in the statue arms, just the shedded skin of a giant snake. Maybe people of gun fort was taking care of the snake when it was little.
i reckon in future if you are going to do videos of this format more, you should mention at the beginning of the video that it is more a video on thoughts rather than a fully thought out theory
Perhaps the gun fort homies conspired to create the centipede dudes as a new weapon of war in collaboration with ashina. They dont want anyone near the snake, but they'd certainly rather have ashina in power than the nosy ministry. And the cave was their secret shared lab of sorts where they abducted their own ppl and turned them into centipedes. Or maybe it was all ashina, and they abducted some gun for guys in secret?
Why are there candles in the hole in the floor at the shrine? I wonder if it wasn’t some holy presence that existed beneath the floor and was discovered (hence venerated, like Mother Kos in BB) or a holy presence that fought in the shrine. Could the snake Viscera have been discovered in the hole, could something have broken out from the hole? The centipedes being freed through the hole would make more sense considering the shrine candles. Who knows!
I think the owl feathers after the gun fort must have been from owl. The size of the sword in the Guardian ape is the same size as owls sword. I think he went through there and fought the ape trying to get the flower and landed a "killing blow" that the ape got back up from before owl could pull his sword out. Owl retreated and escaped but lost his sword in the process.
I found a Long Arm Centipede Sen'un miniboss in Senpou Temple too. Did you take a look at his room? May be we'll find more amswers? Loving your lore videos. You are doing a great job. Thank you very much, man.
I don't think that senpou and sunken valley are allies. the small guys with large hats come from senpou temple, since among other thing, there is one in front of the gun fort saying that attacking it unprepared was a bad idea. perhaps the people of sunken valley bring all the things they don't want to senpou temple, and the monks are fed up with it?
@@Creeepling yeah, we don't get that much on them, but the tengu of ashina gives you a note mentioning assasins from senpou temple at the castle gate, and when you eavesdrop on them, they do mention something along the lines of one of their fellow assasins fighting in the sunken valley. also, I believe that aside from the ones with the red hats of course, there don't seem to be any that you can't link to senpou, although this might be wrong.
Creeepling yeah, that was about what I guessed, but like I said, the rest can be linked to senpou for the most part. Also, the old ladies who seems to worship the divine child of senpou and tells you how to get the serpent viceras, her clothes do seem similar to those of the sunken valley people, with the hay/fur-ish mantle thing
You didnt mention the raven masked enemies have feathers as well and im pretty sure the snake in the statues hands is just the shedded skin of one of the giant snakes when it was younger.
@@krokanthd8967 Did you even pay attention to the video? The point he is trying to make is that there is some connection between the gun fort shrine and the senpou monks because the monks disappear after being hit by the fan, meaning that all of them have had the fan used on them before. The centipedes don't disappear from the fan which proves that they were not originally monks from senpou temple and did not arrive there by use of the fan.
Cool video! One note about the snake the statue is holding: I thought it was just snake skin, put there for worshipping. Maybe the skin of a young version of a giant snake or at least a new descendant of it.
Take a better look and you can see the eye :) It does look a little bit dried up, but it is a full snake lying there. I should've captured better footage of it :(
The Sunken Valley Clan is an ally of the Ashina Clan, the cannoneers inside castle grounds should be an obvious sign; they are not guns for hire but rather showing both clans are on good terms. The centipede people on the other hand, are in fact mercenaries(prayer bracelet info). It explains their presence in both the Senpou Temple and the Gun Fort(the temple and the valley clan are at odds, the dying assassin besides the Sunken Valley idol tells the story). The feathers could also come from Nightjar ninjas, and they also happens to be near the Bodhisattva Valley.
@@Creeepling Sixth Prayer Necklace's lore stated that the Centipedes often change their own names out of loyalty towards a new leader, whom they will seek out. Is true no where in game mentioned they are mercenaries, but based on their culture of 'finding the leader' is entirely possible for the chiefs themselves to find their own masters to serve. Their in-game locations are often places of importance: Bell Demon Temple, monks' tomb, shrine leading to the great serpent. Is kind convenient for them to appear in those locations if they just happened to wandered in and make themselves at home, there are plenty of places in the game that are more suitable for their likes (the abandoned dungeon for example). So based on those information I believe they are very likely mercenaries like the shinobi hunters and assassins, or they can be a nomadic tribe that is tolerated by their hosts, given that they keep it to themselves, and perhaps perform some duties to earn their keeps.
@@CatOnTheCouch Well, we don't really see them interacting with anyone else, sometimes - coexisting. And I think by "leaders" they mean long arm centipedes :)
@@Creeepling In the entrance to the monks' tomb, just behind Senpou Temple's main hall, there is one monk doing his rounds, and just little further ahead there are three centipedes. If centipedes are pests the lone monk would most likely be killed, or would be dealing with them. On the other hand the Senpou assassins also stick to themselves, and monks do not interact with them. So based on this behavior, they are either very good at hiding, or they are hired/tolerated to guard those areas.
Amazing videos, dude! Mentioned your channel’s name on Vaati’s recent video. Here’s to him somehow reaching out for collaborate lore-speculation and stuff!
Many mistakes were made in this video, Nightjars , also have feathers The Sunken Valley clan also have two Cannons in Ashina Castle. There is little evidence that they are hostile to Ashina Clan, however there are more evidence that states the opposite as will state below They are hostile against Senpou Temple Spies (Rats) AND you (Sekiro). Something the Ashina Clan is in favour off. Sunken Valley Monkies, the Twinblades White Apes , Samurai Apes and Matchlock Apes were fighting interior Ministry at the end of the game. Edit : Further more , Divine Fan, something.Isshin as the Tengu is used to Abduct Temple Monks. More evidence of Hostilities against Senpou Temple and allegiance to Isshin. Another important detail. The deities carrying the Snake Skins that the Sunken Valley Clan worships are Bodhisattva, female Buddha. Whilst Senpou Monks worship either twisted versions of Buddha or the Headless Spirits (Ako, Ungo etc) . Further state the divide between Senpou and Sunken Valley. Another detail would be the Long arm Centipedes and Mini Centipedes. They clearly used to be Sunken Valley Clan , could be inhumane experiments done to them by Senpou Monks, the Long Arm Giraffe and Mini Centipede in Sunken Valley could be rescued Centipedes from the Senpou Monks before they isolated themselves in their Temples as "Degenerates" like what isshin said
Maybe those centipede-giraffes were once monks, who transformed themselves/ were transformed into those creatures by some kind of Transplantation of those metal bars. This would explain the bandages and seems logical, thinking of their search for immortality through infection with the centipede parasites. Not quite sure what these feathers are about, but maybe the are from the „feeding“ of the centipede-giraffe creatures or the belong to sacrifices brought to the giant snake, which were abducted by the centipede giraffe creatures.
This is very, very late, but at least two more guys like the one in the Outskirts help guard Ashina Castle close to the Old Grave Sculptor's Idol. I died quite a few times to their meddling.
In saying that I wanted you to know I enjoyed your video! My only critique is do research on some of the concepts you throw into your theory crafting. I’ve watched a lot of “Prepare to Cry” Souls Lore and would say that staying cohesive and on topic is big for these videos. Maybe writing down your points on paper with listed reasons will help you format the timeline of what you choose to say. Your videos are better than mine, imo so you have a good start!

I wonder why the fan sent Kotaro straight to the illusory halls or if it’s not really important. Do you have any theories about Sekiro’s white blotched skin on the side of his face? Or anything about the bloody surgeon, his master, and Emma’s adoptive father after she was saved by the sculptor? After all they were trying to make the water stuff that the Senpou monks were making.
I wonder, too. Maybe it has something to do with him being innocent and connected with the children. The skin is Dragon's stagnation, I believe. Similar to what Dragonrot is. You can see its marks on Kuro and Divine Child, most likely - they have grey strands of hair. I think I mentioned it in my previous video :) I have some theories on Dogen and the surgeons, those will go into the Waters of Rejuvenation video :)

@@Creeepling Perhaps it's because they've gone against Buddha by breaking the cycle of reincarnation due to their attaining of a tainted form of immortality via the centipedes?
@@VampiricDarkDragon Well, every single monk in Senpou is tainted. I reckon by the time the centipede takes over, the person is effectively gone. Meaning, you're not using abduction on the monk anymore, but on the centipede :)

I bow down to your observation skills and the calmness in your voice. You have earned yourself a sub. Keep up the great work.
Loved this format bud, please keep it coming.
Glad to see you here, friend! Love your vids! :)
Just discovered these videos and am really enjoying them. Good work getting the discussion going. Lore hunting is my favorite aspect of these games.
After watching one of your videos (Divine Children one) and walking through Senpou temple main grounds again, I noticed something very very eerie. You can see bodies on the ground - children bodies. The monks just threw them on the ground, not even in the valley.
I don't think it's my video, man. I think you're referring to @SmoughTown
Never connected the long arms to sunken valley. excellent work.
Same. I always thought they were Senpou temple experiments.
i really like these videos, i hope you can record these in a higher resolution though. it was hard to notice in the video some of the details you're talking about because it looks so compressed. keep it up looking forward to more of these
I think the later ones should look better, I tuned up my settings :) only 720p, though :(
You’re lores leave more questions then answers... I love it! Keep em coming!
in senpou temple near the first monk encounters, tucked away in a corner on the left, there’s a tied up charred corpse covered in feathers. i’m not sure who it is but it’s really interesting
In the ending needing the hearts we are the owl we even attack from above on a perch to kill the snake we are the owls successor I think maybe he was just like us at one point and made the wrong decision when faced with the master or the code
4:26 wait, how did you do that? I always only get xbox controller prompts when playing on pc and on keyboard. Same thing with all dark osuls games
Your videos give more value to the game and make me appreciate the story more
since I didn't see anyone mention this.... all the Sunken Valley clan appearance basically ripped straight from the animated movie 'Princess Mononoke" (by another Miyazaki), they were lepers in that movie (hence why the bandages) and they also used the same type of guns to protect their fort.
That wasn't the only gun fort member...there was also the two mortar folks on 2 towers near the old grave
The snake people are probably allied with ashina. Perhaps ashina is getting their guns from gun fortress
Love it.
1:07 there are on fact 2 more gunfort members who help defened ashina castle close to the old grave idol
Great video bro💫
0:57 Found 2 more of them near Old Grave at Ashina castle
You: "See the bandages"
Me: "LEPERS"
Not sure if it was mentioned in the video but I wanted to point out that one of theprayer neclaces the player receives after getting enough beads states that all members of the Sunken Valley clan are female which is interesting.
Congrats for 1k..i hate the snakes lol..but yeah..we have to progress into the game lol
Thanks! :)
Thought I was going to be finding out about a secret room... jabaited by the clickbait
Yeah, good thing today I felt like reporting bs and dislike.
@@nickallison325 I do realize that it is sort of pointless to repeat myself, but I will do since you insist on misunderstanding. Secret means hidden, unknown. Mystery means hard to explain.
I guess I will keep in mind that people tend to mistake things for each other like that
When I search this video the title is "Gun Fort: The Mystery Room - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Lore
" but when I click the video it's a differnt title, what's going on here?
ATTENTION.....those feathers around the building they’re actually the feathers of the nightjar ninjas. Hopefully you know the ones I am talking about. You fight them later on in this very area (sunken valley) same area you fight all the monkeys
You can find the cannon enemy at old grave in ashina castle so that one isn't the outskirts isn't the only one in ashina
You gotta talk about kotaru and how all the big dudes are failed children of the rejuvenating waters. This hurt my heart
The big dudes are the Taro Troop :)
There is more to taro troop than you may think. I think it’s a reason they cry like babies and look like big babies. Lump of fat wax description deals with them
@@House_of_Green Yep, I'm pretty sure they have their spot in lore, but haven't looked into them yet :)
Finally there is a guy who makes lore videos for sekiro. Instant Abo. Nice job dude. I hope you ll make a lot more videos 👍
When I first saw these Sunken Valley rifleladies, I thought of the hunters and riflemen of Lady Eboshi from Studio Ghibli’s “The Princess Mononoke.”
Crackshots with their guns and very perceptive of their surroundings.
It transports some of them, for sure. But I don't think it's all of them :)
Just so you know, as you are getting the senpou esoteric scrolls, centipedes are the only enemies you come up against. The scroll then talks about how their practise got taunted. You are asked to cleanse the temple, earlier. Ergo, Senpou temple was corrupted by the snake clan.
What they're talking about is the immortal centipedes, I believe. It's hard to tell their origins atm :)
Man these videos need more attention. Good job man!
Another amazing video!
There could also be multiple keys, and the one we obtain belonged to Tomoe.
That’s the only way there.
there are actually a few more sunken vally clan members defending the back of the castle where you first meet black hat badger.
Isn't there two other sunken valley guys by the old grave idol in the towers??
This format is actually cool . Keep it up
I'll be glad if you point them out, that will help with actual theories :)
If you enjoy this format, I should be able to bring out new videos twice a week or more, rather than just once a week.
Tell me if you liked this, then I can make more! :)
the nightjar ninjas are covered in feathers as well.
@@iamerror45 right! Actually, pretty fitting..
Asking for subscribers in the middle of the video is pretty jarring and annoying , will be unsubbing now.
@@vaevictis5178 hm, an insert like that was in every video I posted so far. I wonder if you were even subbed in the first place :)

its just weird the connections between centipedes, snakes and dragons this game has, all these creatures are worshipped, they are long, they all have a connection with inmortality
Best lore video I've seen for sekiro so far, please keep digging 🖒
Imho this is not a dead snake in the statue arms, just the shedded skin of a giant snake. Maybe people of gun fort was taking care of the snake when it was little.
i reckon in future if you are going to do videos of this format more, you should mention at the beginning of the video that it is more a video on thoughts rather than a fully thought out theory
Yep, the lesson I learned after posting :)
Agreed.
Sunken valley, the great snake and actually some of the Ashina generals have a good bit of my attention recently
"Stay-Tue"
Did you forget about the Tengu. They wear feathers and would look into the going ons of the gun fort
Great video! Love to see more!
Who knows!
Great videos Man! Keep going !
Navaid Zafar yeah he talked about that
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out the logistics if all that :)
Oh I missed that. My bad.
I Like your voice and Style here is the smallest Thing i can do to Show my Support, Take my Sub and Like, you deserve it. Keep doing a great Job
That is true, but as far as I remember the assassins are affiliated with more than just Senpou and Ministry. Not 100% sure, though
@@Pascll Red garments = internal ministry :)
@@Pascll Hmm, I actually haven't looked into her much. Thanks for the pointer!
You didnt mention the raven masked enemies have feathers as well and im pretty sure the snake in the statues hands is just the shedded skin of one of the giant snakes when it was younger.
At 9:01 the fang does'nt work, because it is the golden one. The golden fang is only for loot as you can see.
7:33
@@preston8586 Then it only works on weak enemies, because when Ashina Castle burns, the enemies there cannot be teleported.
@@preston8586 That makes no sense, the big crying monk at the begin of Senpo-Tempel cannot be teleported twice.

Cool video! One note about the snake the statue is holding: I thought it was just snake skin, put there for worshipping. Maybe the skin of a young version of a giant snake or at least a new descendant of it.
Take a better look and you can see the eye :) It does look a little bit dried up, but it is a full snake lying there. I should've captured better footage of it :(
Fairly certain the Nightjar Ninja also have feathers on their outfits.
I believe they do, as well.
So if I'm gonna go into ng+ do I need to kill any of the mini bosses again or can I skip them once I've already killed in first play?
You can skip most, but not mandatory ones :)
@@Creeepling thank you, good video too
The Sunken Valley Clan is an ally of the Ashina Clan, the cannoneers inside castle grounds should be an obvious sign; they are not guns for hire but rather showing both clans are on good terms.
There's nothing on bracelets to assume centipedes are mercs, as far as I recall :)
Wow, appreciate it! :)
Yeah, these guys are bandaged like the lepers in Princess Mononoke. In the movie the lepers also make guns/cannons for Iron Town. Nice homage.
Theres also another gunner near the broken bridge in ashina castle
Love this kind of lore detail videos, subs
Many mistakes were made in this video,
Nightjars , also have feathers
The Sunken Valley clan also have two Cannons in Ashina Castle.
There is little evidence that they are hostile to Ashina Clan, however there are more evidence that states the opposite as will state below
They are hostile against Senpou Temple Spies (Rats) AND you (Sekiro).
Snakes actually use their tongues to smell/ see. They have ultraviolet vision as well.
