I'm with Carrie, the char marshmallows all the way!!! It gets so yummy, toasty and gooey. When Dave said he would use luggable loo for a seat, I thought what a great idea to have a (spare) folding camp chair. I would have taken it.... that's just me.
Dave is all about using what he can find! And I must say he has found some really awesome items.... I think it’s because he is ALWAYS picking up trash!!

Oh Yes! Dave wins the s'mores challenge and the toilet seat gave me the giggles and brought back some really funny memories of geology field studies, so many years ago! You two are the most fun!

Yes! Patience pays off with the marshmallows 😂 My awesome seat got buried with a snowstorm and in the commotion I forgot about it. I hope the next person has as much fun as we did with it...after the snow melts in the spring 😂😂😂
That spot looks great along the river. Endless supply of water and a place to dump a cassette toilet if someone had one. I was amazed at the water temperature 😳😳 that’s crazy hot but love how you can adjust the temperature. The free firewood is a bonus. Nice video 👍🏼

@ 15:56 You could get an isolator installed from the house battery to your battery bank for your solar for the cheap. Your house battery would keep your solar batteries topped off while driving down the road. A friend of mine was telling me they now make smart isolators that turn themselves on/off depending upon the needs of the solar batteries. I live in Florida so I just opted for a standard isolator that I turn on manually.
Ok.. playing middle of the road.. Carries burnt marshmallow, with gram, but have to have chocolate.. Dave is right on with that! So thankful for videos! Can’t wait to get on the road!!!

It was amazing! We ended up going there 5 times. It was so relaxing and only a few minutes away from our campsite. Bald eagles seem to love that river and we spotted one nearly every day. 😀

Not sure how I missed this video when it was released. I normally side with Carrie on things for safety but Dave has the correct method for smores. I found a great recipe for kale. Chop it one way, then turn the cutting board 90 degrees so you chop again in the opposite direction. Take your knife and scrap it into a pile then chop it some more. Hold the cutting board over the trash can and dump that crap out.... order a pizza.

Carrie, Dave is so lucky to have you as a wife! What a cook, looks so good, love your cooking sessions. Dave we have a converted Ambulance and we decided to have our solar panels on suitcases instead of on the roof so when we camp we can park in the shade and run our solar panel in the sun all day and the ambulance stays cool in the shade and we still get full sun power. It is working great for us!
Hi Carmen! I would love to see your ambo! I didn't even think of the benefit of staying in the shade. How long of cord did you end up going with? I was thinking of buying a 30-foot extension.
@@oneadVANtureatatime I believe my husband got a 50ft. extension and it works great. The only complain I have is that the solar panel suitcase gets heavy but once you have them all sent up you don’t have to put them away for a few days. Plus I can’t complain to much because my husband is in charge of the solar panels😂

Good morning Dave, Carrie & Roodle ! That's a pretty awesome campground & a delicious meal ! I'm with you both on marshmallows. Dave method 1st slow & patient so the inside is a gooey goodness. Then Carrie I agree with you. I let it turn into a charred flame of greatness & blow it out. I love to eat just the marshmallows alone. Hot springs are awesome, but I guarantee I'd find the only spot where it's cold..... Carrie get Dave an oven mitten for the next hot spring... Thanks for laughs, great video & keep smiling !

Hi Janis. I would say that most the streams we camp next to we have seen fish and sometimes people fishing. I use to be into fishing but with this traveling lifestyle it's to expensive for us to buy fishing licenses for every state. If there was a license that covered all 50 states I would be fishing all the time. 😀

I buy the mini marshmallows for hot chocolate but also as an occasional 🐶 treat. Madi will run after them as I toss them down the hallway. He’s now 17-1/2 yrs old so I doubt the random white puffy pillow has caused him any harm. Madi also enjoys spaghetti mixed into his dried kibble. Makes me laugh when his white beard ends up looking like a young’n with spaghetti stains. Thankfully he waits for me to clean his face before leaving his feeding mat area. 🍝
I bet Roodle would like mini marshmallows as well. Madi sounds like a great dog! 17 years old is amazing. I can just see him waiting for you to clean his face. That sounds like something Roodle would do. 😂🐕

I am a horrible cook, (I just don't like cooking) but I might try that spaghetti.

I think the spaghetti is a wee bit better with regular noodles!!! I really like one pot meals.....really great for small spaces and usually very East too!

Use chocolate chip cookies instead of gram crackers and choclate the chewy chocolate chip are best
I like my marshmallow lightly browned but I'm impatient and it always catches on fire.
How do you connect your backup solar panel? I see a wire going through your van window?
We are are plugging it into our MPPT charger that is hooked up to our goal zero battery station via a 8 mm plug. It has REALLY extended our battery life.
Start by warming the marshmallow so the inside gets warm. Then torch it! Let it burn for a second or two, blow it out and immediately put it on the chocolate (Nutella). You get the best of both worlds: char and marshmallow goo! Or I like the "char skin" tactic. Just burn it for a few, then peel off and eat the charred "skin". Back in the fire, eat the char skin. You get 3-4 good skins before you run out!
I love the Nutella idea! Carrie won't let me buy that stuff because I eat it straight out of the jar😂😂😂 I just learned the Nutella lid has a secret knife spreader hidden under the paper circle.
