- After a three year absence, the RAF Cosford Air Show returned for the first time last Sunday: featuring a host of fantastic displays from historic helicopters and warbirds to international military fast jets.
Personal highlights have to include the French Dassault Rafale display - one of the best fast jet displays I've seen for some time. The Belgian F-16 also put on a fantastic show with a considerable amount of negative G manoeuvres, really showing how capable the aircraft still is after many decades of service. It was also very nice to see a Westland Lynx back in the sky after seven years since it was retired by the Royal Navy and the British Army. Hope to see some of it at other shows in the future.

I don't think it will ever NOT be amazing to watch an F-35 just float perfectly still in mid-air like that. Just an incredible feat of engineering, and a capability that I could certainly see coming in real handy during a near-peer conflict.
As I live not even 15 minutes away from cosford, most of the aircraft present flew over my house
I went to this, the F35 was SOOOOO LOUD!!
Love the sound of a Merlin engine in the morning, sounds like victory 😀

What would RJ make of the Typhoon if it suddenly appeared behind K5054 on that day 86 years ago… Spitfire remains a stunning iconic aircraft..
arguable the most beautiful aircraft in the world, then the typhoon imho then tornado.
Damn this is a good show, i wish i was there, i went to the teeside show and that was disappointing compared to this. Although the Typhoon did a mega fly past as it flew in, the roar was jawshattering, i love that aircraft.

Normally I’d agree with you, I’d never take my sight of the merlin-engined aircraft, but in this case, the Belgian A109 (which doesn’t display in the UK that often) was making a racket in front of me and made it near impossible to hear the merlin anyway. Plenty of other videos of Mustangs on my channel though!

No tornado this year?
The Tornado was withdrawn from RAF service in 2019. So unless they can get hold of some German, Italian or Saudi ones, we won’t be seeing the fly again.

But it would have been brilliant to see a MiG-29 make an appearance.
2018 a Polish Mig29 appeared with a hurricane for the RAFs 100th anniversary.
