    In this review, I discuss and test candles scent in by Subscriber and fellow candle company "Candle Legacies". And we go into a bit of wicking theory when it comes to this particular wax type. We discuss the wax, fragrance, labels, etc. And, of course test the candles for wicking and performance.

I know u don't do silicone moulds but I'd love to just see u try it for the first time just so I can see your thought process when considering what you'd need and how you would start factoring in your list what you would expect/possible as the outcome before adding something to your store. Nice jars. You didn't say how many hours burn. I don't really like these jars for candles i use to use it but stop after a gizzlian testing it seems like the material use to make the jars double the heat while burning. If people choice to use this jar i would recommend using 464 golden wax or mix the blended soy/coconut. I would use a woodwick one instead of other wicks. If you have overload fragrance this may contribute to sooting to that degree, as we know sooting happens in all candles. Am happy i found your channel this is perfect for the holiday binge watching thank you so much for sharing. I notice the candle for the ocean fragrance soot way more than the coffee, am guessing ingredients may also play a part in sooting

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  2 года назад +1

      Hey, I agree double wicking can make jar too hot if wicked too large. I also agree using waxes that don't burn too hit will help as well. The biggest reason why one of these candles soot more than the other was a) wick placement and power burn. But both were a tad overwicked I think contributing to most of the soot issues

    Hi Wade…I Love your channel! Question…I’m testing a trying to refine my candles…so, starting out with the wick guide with candle science, it suggests that I use an ECO 8 for the size vessel I’m using and wax type (IGI 6006) but I’m getting a lot of soot I think 😖🫢 thinking that I need to wick down…I don’t think that there is an ECO 6, or is it?? 🤯 What would be your recommendation??

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  Год назад

      Thank you. There is an eco 6, yes. But I don't like eco with 6006.... never have. I think candle science recommends it because it's the beta of the wicks they sell... which is debatable. I prefer premier 700 or zinc wicks for 6006. The htp or lx before eco

    Ecos are way too big for me most of the time but if I have a fragrance eating my wick up and I've tried everything else they sometimes work well as a eco 2 double wicked in those sized jars. I use a natural coconut wax blend. Just started testing with CDNs. I don't use anything to center just the wick holders... I tried a 3 wick for my first time and OH MY I had no idea how to hold them up... used a bunch of rubber bands and worked well but definitely need a better option.. so many wick setters seem specific to the jar if using a big jar.

    Hello hello. I have something to ask you. I have a 9 oz. Jar, the diameter is 3 inches. I will use 6006 wax. What type of wooden wick may i use? And are the amazon wooden wicks good? Thanks.

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  2 года назад

      Hey Marisol. I would personally avoid woodwicks from anywhere other than the woodenwick co. Couple reasons for that. They own the patent for wood wicks (at least in the U.S.), not sure outside the U.S. But also, with amazon you just dont know what you are getting with your materials. Who made it, what are the actual specs? I would worry about consistency with your materials. But that is just my preference. As far as your question about what wooden wick to use for that jar. I really don't know. I dont use wooden wicks in ay jars that small/narrow. It might be a challenge. Id probably start with a .02 or .03 and a 1/4 - 1/2" width. But that is just a guess. WoodenWickCo might help better with that question.

    Hi wade, what is the maximum heat for a jar before it’s a hazard? I also used to use Eco 2’s and they burned so hot and smoked too much. Now I never want to double wick again because I’m a bit afraid of the outcome .

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  2 года назад

      Eco have a problem with smoke and soot in general. Normally double wicking helps minimize smoke and soot because you are using smaller wicks. The problems with eco is that they are so large and hot even in smaller sizes.
      As far as jar temp. Try to keep outside temp from getting over 170
