I love both of those bottles! There is a reason we have more than one bottle in our collection. The OGD Bonded neck pour can be a little wild in the woods, but if you make a Cocktail with the first pour and let it get some air for a few weeks it real comes into its own.
Thanks for your humor i rea needed that. I really really like the old grandad bottled and bond. But really like the wild turkeys 101 rye. It’s so good too
The rye of OGD bonded really hits the pallet right away with a spicy/sour haymaker! 101 is a sweeter, cleaner and slower burn that just warms my soul. They’re definitely different, and I prefer Wild Turkey. You can’t argue with either, and if you always keep a bottle of one or the other-you have great taste.
I thought the same as you! Maybe the OGD is slightly sweeter but slightly spicer. It’s just a toss up. When you add ice the OGD seems a little nicer but not much. It’s just good bourbon on ice for them both
Haven’t had the OGD bonded for several years but from my memory these were not similar at all - Wild Turkey 101 has remained a near perfect bourbon and I always have a couple of bottles on hand. Although I still enjoy the OGD 114, my recollection was that the lower proof OGD products just didn’t suit my palate - there was a funk that I didn’t care for. Will have to revisit this one.
David, what's the least impressive mass produced Bottom Shelf bourbon out there? For me it might be Early Times. Of course I haven't tried all of them.

Truth
Excellent and honest review. I agree: both are very good bourbons and excellent value.

Another tie, in a practical sense.

Dang! Now I have to do some more research! Probably Old Crow or Ancient Age? This would make another good subject!
@@mywhiskeyden-davidelliott Cabin Still is another that nobody seems to have love for.
@@michaelbroer6378 that one I've never heard of!
Alot worse than Early Times out there 🤫👍😉🥃
