New viewer here and it is so nice to see that other quilters take as much stuff on retreat that my small group does! Goodness, you had a car full! And we also eat very well while gone. Beautiful setting and you all look like you had a great time! Retreats are good for the soul, aren’t they? TFS!
Welcome aboard Nancy 😊 I’m glad you found me. Yes, we take ac lot of stuff, this should make you laugh; Purple Block brings her sewing chair and it’s a pretty big one. 😂🤣😂 Thanks for watching my videos. 🐥
When I lived in Cascade years ago, we would drive up West Mountain and shovel a truck bed full of snow to chill all the beer for our Fourth of July picnic. Yes, there would still be snow in July on the mountain!
Did you see Patricia in the video? She wasn't interested in quilting and now she loves it! I'm a very bad influence! And thats why we retreat, we got so much done,
Looks like you have all the Sweet and Savory snacks covered. YUM! Oh, by the way, I found an old 15-91 Singer machine, found out it was made in1940 in Elizabeth New Jersey.. Well my sister Elizabeth (Betsy) was born in New Jersey in 1940, so obviously my machine is called Betsy. I will have to check out exactly where Cascade Lake is.
I'm Australian & it's been fun to watch this as the retreats I go to here are pretty much the same. You can never have too much chocolate at retreats 😁
OMG I would have done the same thing with the spider, probably would have gone for anything/one in close proximity.. Love your RUclips channel Di.. workin on my version of Around the world.. thanks much for everything you do. Bob
We all laughed for the longest time when I sliced the 🕷. I wish I’d been alert enough to film it. Thanks for the RUclips love & enjoy your Around The World.
Thanks Evelyn! Here's a link to my new retreat video, I went jsut last week. ruclips.net/video/y4J6heGBRUc/видео.html Thank you for for watching my videos!!!
This looks like so much fun. I am anxiously awaiting for the Guild group retreats to start up again here in Canada. Can't wait! Thank you for sharing your weekend getaway!
WE always have a ton-o-fun at our retreats. Then we have an on-going text stream so we can chat and see what each of us are working on. Crossing my fingers Canada opens up soon. TFW!
I am not new to quilting but just dont get the idea of a retreat. Does everyone just bring a project and sew together or is there a theme or project involved? I would have thought there would be a pattern and fabric requirements for everyone to work on and get finished at the end of the retreat?
Some retreats are very scheduled, for instance there might be a guest presenter and everyone buys their pattern and they all make the same thing or practice the same skill. Others, and this is the one I attend, are a set apart time to just get togheter and quilt together. This is an opportunity to retreat from our from our daily routines/work to just quilt, laugh, catch up and eat with out interruption. We've all been to the structured retreats and prefer this format where we can each work on our own projects, but together. This past spring we decided to work on the same block, each making 20, then we're going to exchange them in the fall and each sew a quilt that will be from everyone in our group. This is a link to the video about that, ruclips.net/video/NMs3TI_oJjE/видео.html Retreats aren't for everyone, however, I relly enjoy leaving The Engineer and my daily chores to just quilt, I always come back refershed and ready to hit the road running.
@@sisterchicksquilting TY! I think I was just getting confused about the concept. I don't think I will be able to attend unless they have one for couples and therre are things for the guys to do lol but I would love to get together with other quilters sometime in the future.
Awesome, where do you live? I have several quliting customers in the Cascade (one brought a quilt and was in the video) area then one above New Meadows. Idaho is such a beautiful state!! Thanks for watching!!
Wow! You are a fast and tireless piercer! And I think it’s a wonderful quilt. Many modern quilts are borderless so. . .ok!
I can’t stop once I get started 😳 Thanks for watching Rose❤️🐥
Oh my gosh! It looks like everyone had a blast. Beautiful projects, and the deer just eating out of your hands. What a great time!
Though it’s not an ideal space, the sheer beauty of being in Cascade, Idaho makes it all worth it. TFW❣️
What fun! Love your heart block on point!
Thanks, I show the entire quilt in detail in the video after this one. It’s called to border or not to border.
Thanks for watching ❣️

I miss quilt retreats! I have had a 15 year hiatus in quilting and have just gotten back to it this year. Retreats are refreshing and so inspiring!
Welcome Back!!! You are correct, they are the best. Thanks for watching.
What a wonderful retreat

You're so welcome! My wish is for everyone to have a group they can retreat with, it's so relaxing and helaing. We go twice a year.
So fun!
It was a blast. Then we leave with our buckets filled :)
What a great experience!
We have been quilting together for 4 years now and just 💕 it.

You may have something there. I bet there are a lot of spouses who would like to attend on those terms.
I wish I would of known I live near cascade.

Right now I'm working on the underground railroad.
Where are the fruit and veggies? Ha
Umm, some of the licorice was cherry flavored.
