i love seeing how much discord truly cares for fluttershy, and his fear of losing their friendship. it really shows his progress since his introduction.
I love how respectful pinkie is of the yaks, she just wants to help but she also doesn’t wanna make them feel disrespected in any way
Honestly, this makes the whole "forced reformation via magic" idea that Twilight had way back when Discord first came back to be reformed, retroactively horrifying. Cause her idea of reformation was "no using chaos magic ever", and a spell to force him to be "good" would, what, make him not use chaos magic? Yikes. (I mean, the idea of a spell to force someone to change who they are is terrifying b/c stripping away their bodily autonomy and decision making.
thinking back on keep calm and flutter on makes me realise how messed up the rest of the mane six actually were to discord. celestia asked her student, who is studying friendship, to reform discord, saying fluttershy would know best. but twilight instead immediately raced to forced reformation and used fluttershy’s method as a distraction, pretty much thinking fluttershy was stupid and gullible for even trying to show him kindness and respect, when they didn’t even give him a chance. celestia TOLD them fluttershy would have the correct way to do it, but no one takes her or celestia seriously? as soon as he was released everyone else immediately jumped his ass and resorted to threats to send him back to stone. honestly don’t know how twilight became a princess almost immediately after wanting to use magic to force compliance… I thought friendship was magic, not the other way around 😭
the way he’s treated by everyone but fluttershy makes the whole season 4 betrayal make more sense to me- barely anyone but fluttershy even pretended they liked him (except pinkie maybe), and as we learn in make new friends but keep discord, he didn’t really understand how the multiple friend thing worked. so he took the dive and chose tirek because even though it was manipulation, tirek ‘respected’ his power and wanted to work together, which was a more enticing offer than being under the constant threat of getting imprisoned again, and only having been freed/kept around so celestia could take advantage of his power.
@@seesawseesaw To be fair, Discord was a pretty extreme guy to reform, it's not hard to believe that they'd be very wary, especially since he was still extremely mischievous after reformation.
@@seesawseesaw I understand your sentiments, but Discord isn’t some innocent guy. He is extremely devious and selfish. He nearly destroyed their friendship once and wanted to plunge Equestria into chaos. Plus, most of his appearances between his reformation began and his betrayal featured him manipulating the Mane Six into annoying/dangerous situations. I can definitely understand why none of them wanted him around. They weren’t going to pretend to like him just so he wouldn’t enslave them-he needed to learn that friendship works both ways and that he needed to put effort in if he wanted any back.
It is crazy that Discord almost ended himself just to make Flutters comfort top tier friend ngl
Discordant Harmony is a great Fluttershy/Discord episode. It's nice to see Discord is a good person and Fluttershy loves him the way he is

This episode provides a great explanation for Discord being chaotic after his reformation. If he completely changes his chaotic mindset, he'll disappear
I mean to be fair, I’ll take a few seconds of disrespect for a few hundred gold coins too. Haha
"Not Asking For Trouble" is one of the weakest Pinkie Pie episodes in my opinion, And the reason why I think that is mainly because of the lesson of the episode. I mean forcibly helping people who decline help isn't exactly a good lesson.
But other than that, It's an interesting episode, Both because we got to see the Yaks again and we got to see what Yakyakistan is like for the very first time. And I was happy that they made Pinkie Pie an honorary Yak in the end
"Discordant Harmony" is one of my favorite Discord episodes! It was interesting to see Discord go out of his way to make the perfect tea party for Fluttershy, Though it is true that he over thought things and went overboard in terms of making the tea party too normal.
And the fact that Fluttershy was expecting Discord's tea party to be as wacky and chaotic as he is just means that on some level Fluttershy's just as eccentric as Discord which makes them perfect for each other. lol
And it was also interesting to learn that Discord has a weakness after all, By becoming too normal and not causing chaos he fades out of existence. which was not all that surprising since Discord is literally the living embodiment of chaos itself, And seeing Fluttershy being chaotic was adorable!
In fact if you think about it, Fluttershy literally saved Discord's life in this episode. But when Discord was fading away it didn't seem to phase him like he didn't even care that he practically dying. But I guess Discord got too into character at being "normal" to even notice the situation that much.
But anyway I was happy that the episode had a happy ending, In fact some of my favorite parts of the episode was with the singing tea and the candy sneezing pinata.
I’m pretty sure the lesson was supposed to be that a good friend should still try to help their friends, even without them needing to ask. The yaks obviously needed help, they’re just way too prideful to ask. I don’t think that’s “forcibly helping someone who doesn’t want it” if they obviously need it and their children are starving because of it
This is why Discord has to be true to himself and to think if Twilight had forcefully used that reforming spell on him way back when in Season 3 when He was released, she would have made him disappear. Fluttershy gets him and their relationship is so cute. But seeing how much he cares about her shows a lot. She is the only pony he truly cares about.

Discordant Harmony is my fav episode!! Im also a huge Fluttercord truther though. Their dynamic reminds me a lot of my bf and I. He’s very reserved and chill but always enjoys my silly antics and makes me feel comforted in my chaos :o) So I always really love episodes with Flutter and Discord!!

Discordant Harmony is one of my absolute FAVORITE episodes, definitely my favorite Discord ep.

Discord’s definition of “normal” is loaded with so many great lengths just to have Fluttershy be more accepting to him.
As for the yaks and Pinkie. She may bring joy to everyone around her, but after getting to know the yaks the first time. This time around, Prince Rutherford made it clear to her that not asking them and helping in her own way is a lot better than doing nothing.
I love Discord sm and that is such a good ep ❤

yeah, throughout the series, the yaks were definitely my least favorite creature.
This is my favourite Discord episode. Pinkie also has a skin suit of Flutter btw, we saw it in the season 3 premiere. So for whatever reason at least TWO of her friends have a skin suit of her. The Pinkie one freaked her out and not Discord’s so idk if it’s because Pinkie’s was more realistic or because she’s more comfortable with Discord, or both.
The discord ep made me cry, I relate to changing yourself to make your friends more comfortable, and slowly destroying yourself in the process.

It's cute seeing how much Discord loves Flutter and wanted to change himself before he disappeared. But I still see them as friends only. Not no couple. But it's Canon so🥲.
I also only see them as close friends and no Fluttercord isn't canon it can be interpreted as canon but it's not.

They appear to live together at the end. You could believe they are room mates or something. I don't think that's what the writers were going for but it's fiction, interpret it however you like.
