It took about three decades before I could watch this without crying like a baby, every single time. Now I just get misty eyed. I loved it so much I got a gold-trimmed, leather-bound version of the book, and bought VHS and DVD copies. Be warned though, the 25th edition DVDs alter the original movie, making it more "child-friendly". Boo!

Critical comments: The voices were very beautiful and haunting, as this song requires (I preferred the first singer over the second but both were great. I don't think they meshed well together though). However, I felt they were a touch too upbeat. To me, this is a sad, melancholy song, about the inevitability of life and fate, with death and entropy always winning in the end. Yet despite that I am able to overcome the burdens that try to crush me down, and in this moment, I am able stand on my own two feet, and alone, raise my head and sing. While the game may be rigged against me, and ultimately I will lose, in this moment, alone, I stand tall and strong, and win. The pseudo native american beat in the background was a very nice touch, but I felt the drum was completely off beat, too slow, and it kept jarring me out of the song. Otherwise, wonderful performance, thank you for sharing!

What kind of programs do you use? Although my microphone isn't exactly top-of-the-line either 😂 but your vocals are so Crystal Clear.
Oof, mixing vocals is hard for me! I’m constantly learning new things and what does and doesn’t work with my voice in particular. I know mixing and mastering is something Karliene really loves and has worked hard to figure it out. I personally use Logic Pro for recording and mixing, then master with other artists or this great site called Landr. It’s a constant learning process, but I hope this gave you a little boost in the right direction! Wishing you all the luck! 💕
