I ran out of water up there with my 2L pack. 3L is a lot to carry, but bonking on that fire road back to the car is even less fun. Super smooth run you have here! Sweet!
Rode Flow/Braille in Feb just before world ended. If you have the gas, strongly recommend Braille as a second. Flow is fun, but actually can get a bit boring. Braille jumps are rad, especially if you have someone who knows them tow you down. Shlep drinks up to the the top and stash at Braille. Do Flow. Climb. Find drinks. Consume. Hit Braille. Nap. Climb back to truck.
One of my favorite trails in NorCal. Since I'm up in SJ for work I'm taking advantage of all the trails in the area. If you can do John Nicholas trail.
Yes, the climb at the end is brutal! You'd need a few IPAs to quench your thirst. You will fall in love with the never ending flow trail then you gonna hate why you came this far for a never ending pedal up back to the parking lot 😁😁😁
Mt Pinos just north of where you live in Kern county will get you about 6 miles of flow . The shuttle maybe the best way to accomplish as you would have 3600 ft of climbing . The nice thing is using all that elevation coming down . Looks like fun
Just hit this one for the first time a couple weeks ago, it lives up to the hype and then some. I was shocked when I noticed at the end of my ride I was at 2.4k climbing, felt much easier than that.
Lucky enough to be within an hour of this trail. I have not ridden the ridgeline trail yet, as I usually just take Sulfer Springs Rd up, which is steep and kind of boring.Definitely will try your route next time! Looking forward to the saw pit and braille vids!
Hay new to the site. I saw your video at flow trail Santa Cruz. A few buddies and I road there the Saturday after your video. Awesome ride. I crashed on the ridge trail above the upper helipad. It's called a good crash. Lol. We are from the valley. And ride skyline. Three rivers. Ca.
cheers Tony!! I got to ride all three last weekend, braille, flow, and the new sawpit; also fell in love with wilder ranch; had a nice airbnb house, but I wish I had known about that lodge
I rode that trail today it’s so fun demo forest is just a few miles away from my house so it’s super convenient and I just started biking recently so I’m having a lot of fun on this trail
Rode flow a few months ago for the first time and was howling like a little kid the whole way down. Then I rode braille and almost killed myself on the last log drop. Laid there for 30 minutes waiting for the pain of a broken collar bone or ribs, luckily that never happened. No cell service and no one around and the worst climb ever back to the car. I am very lucky. Anyways, I got all the feels watching this flow ride! Also, your mini whips are looking good brother.
you gotta try the flow when theres hero dirt.... And we usually do braille and flow same ride and yeah lots of climbing. You earn the ride and also pay to get out..... But so much fun. If your ever in Marin let me know.
DUDE! These are my home trails! I live right at the bottom of nicene in Aptos and I ride nicene or demo 3 times a week! Edit: if you want a much longer flow trail, ride from the Benches you started at (the summit) to the entrance of nicene marks. There are about three different routes you can go, and they are all between 10 and 14 miles of flow Trail. You descend in total 3000 feet of elevation. I’m not certain but I believe this is One of the longest flow trails in America!
My friends and I used to ride there before it was the demonstration forest on trials bikes! It was so fun because regular motorcycles could only be ridden on the fire road while we had sections and many trails for our bultaco trials bikes! Many of our trails are now named bike trails after the state made it a park to show the public how sustainable logging was being used! The big ride is to start at the entrance at Nicene Marks State Park in Aptos and ride up to the ridge trail then to flow. If you can ride back up to ridge after doing flow, it’s down hill on the fire road for another epic ride back to your car in Aptos! Don’t know the real mileage round trip but I’ll estimate 25 miles or more!Enjoy!!!! Ps bring lots of water and nutrition as it gets hot in the summer and muddy in the winter! Use trail apps like strava or all trails for details. Not for the weak👍🏾
Flow, Braille, and Sawpit are sanctioned trails that appear on all the trail maps. The UC trails you’re thinking of are definitely a no-no for posting the locations.
I always want to ride my bike everywhere you go, so bad, that I ditched work last week after watching your snow valley video with Alan and went myself 😂
Tony what a fantastic video. First a congrats on the growth of your channel allowing you to share amazing places to stay etc... and damn what a ride. With all the peaking in and out of the sun did you ride clear glasses?? Also when your catching your additional footage are you using a different cam setup? It’s sweet to have the multi cam angels. I know definitely adds tons of production time but it is much appreciated!!! 👊🏼👊🏼💯
Thanks Robert! Yes very little sun with all of the shade and I bring along another GoPro with a mini tripod to place on the trail for those extra shots. Appreciate you noticing!
NorCal is rad and so beautiful! Much respect from the epicenter of MT Biking Utah/Colorado. Come ride with us on summer. We will ride with you on winter...
Awesome video man, thanks! I’m sure you did another lap after that sip. That’s a long drive to do just a lap. I’m an hour away so I make sure I make the drive worth it: 2 laps at least! 🙌
So it seems easier to get to flow from the parking lot by heading down Hihs Sulphur to Sulphur Spring(the climb) then to a small section of Ridge trail?
Awesome. I live in Santa Cruz and never knew about this I wanna go so bad. Thanks Awesome video. Unfortunately I can't go right now as my bike was recently stolen 😪
Ack! We need to ride this!! So our wuestion is the sand. It sounds like its packed and solid? Socal was pretty beachsandy ontop of that packed sand so we would like to avoid a repeat of that.. thanks for the awesome work u do to explain the locations and trailheads. We know how much work goes into that!
Would Big Mountain Trail at Snowbird Resort be considered a flow trail? That one is over six miles. They stopped bringing bikes up on the Gondola a few years ago. So, the climb is brutal? The trail starts at 11K feet. It has one small rock garden section, but the rest of it is pretty flowy. I would like to ride this one in Santa Cruz. I lived in Northern California many years ago, but never rode this area. Kinda before mountain biking was popular.
@The Outsider MTB Sorry I don't follow you. I only watch videos here and there. I looked back on your videos and you have been in the area. You were at Deer Valley and rode the WOW Trail. That is the same general area.
I think you should go to South Lake Tahoe so you can ride the ACTUAL longest downhill flow trail. Kingsbury stinger is 5.38 miles your ride is a breeze. ;)
One of the most unique and beautiful hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in! Super cool clicking on a video and seeing this randomly! Thanks for the video!!
I am 1 hour and 30 mins away to that place and i always wanted to go there. My question is, i saw a lot way out in the trails, so is it which ever trails you can flow and there is one end? Or you need to follow one trail so you will never lost the track? Im very happy if someone answere this thanks..🤔🤔 i really wanna try it
Did the flow trail a couple years ago. Very memorable! And I just got back from Skypark. Tony - seeing your videos and comparing my riding makes me appreciate your skill and speed. I went with a local on the flow trail, and he claimed you can almost ride it without braking. I was skeptical, but seeing your POV makes it look doable. Do you think it's possible? Did you brake much? Looking forward to more Santa Cruz footage!
Man that look great - you're so lucky to have those kind of trails out there. I'm in the SE, I get my mountain riding in North Georgia. They are nice but no flows like that?
The Outsider MTB I just found your channel and made it a favorite. I like you’re a more season rider. Believe me I’m even more seasoned. I’m 65. Just got my 1st full suspension about 5 years ago. A Santa Cruz AL lower components and light travel bike. I just about 4 months ago got a carbon trail/enduro Canyon Strive. I’m loving it. It’s really more bike than I need for my local trails but in the mountains it rocks. May I ask your age? You look very fit and skilled.
The Outsider MTB you’re a younger compared to me. I mostly ride solo but got one MTB friend who’s in his early 40’s that we sometimes ride together - he’s a fireman. But so many channels of guys 20-30’s. I enjoy some of those too.
No way I was literally there on Friday, probably one of the best trails I’ve ridden, your original trail guide was super helpful! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Try Downieville and Mt. Hough, Demo Flow is fun but those are even better IMO.
I have a Downieville vid in the channel. 👍

Wow, both of those trails were amazing! Thanks Tony!
Glad you like them!
Spence Mountain in So. Oregon has several trails that are longer downhill flow trails...the Spence Peak Trail is over 5mi and all downhill flow.
Andrew Lakey thats true but if you follow the right trails in nicene and demo combined you can get 5+ miles of strait downhill all on a single track
@@iangoodwin1839 Sounds fun, several 5+ mi single track options around here...good times all around.
