Your scenic 1/2 speed tour, is like my flat out run 🤣 but seriously know about forgetting a pump. Thought I'd hit a local trail while having tires fitted to the car, so didn't take much with me, burp flatted my front tire, rode back to the car hanging off the back end trying to keep as much weight as possible off he front flat, as I really didn't want to walk the kms back to the car
Nothing like a little humble pie to keep ya grounded. We've all been there. That feeling of getting back to the car and thinking....,"wtf, why am I so dumb and did that?!" My most recent doofus move was a dislocated shoulder four miles deep in no cell phone territory, and didn't tell anyone I was going. Hiking four miles with torturous pain in one arm and a mangled bike in the other, as the suns setting and I'm in bear and cougar country. So stupid. Definitely learned a few lessons on that one. Glad to see you made it out safe!
Glad to hear you made it out! Consider getting something like an Inreach satellite communication device. I ride almost always solo, and actually my past 4 rides have been on Braille trail solo. I also car camp and backpack in remote areas solo. I don’t do any of that stuff without my Inreach and I always have a person I tell where I’m going, when I’m due back and at what point they don’t hear from me to call 911.
9psi is what my fat bike friends run, sound like an interesting challenge. On my gravel bike I have the pump holder sandwiched between the water bottle cage & the frame. Yet to fall out and I had a crash underbiking it. I forgot to lower my rear psi cause I road to the trail so I bounced a little. High psi on 29x2.1 tires on trail, no dice.
Had a similar situation last year, got about a half mile down ridge and slashed the rear tire. Forgot the air pump and had to walk back to the car ~ 4 miles
Bummer about the flat. A couple years ago I did that 2 weeks in a row. Although I live in Morro Bay demo is my favorite riding area. Your videos are high quality. I have some pretty good footage but I can’t edit at all.
One up EDC pump and dynaplugs have saved me more times than I can count. I keep the plugs inside the tool so it's always ready to go. And I was rolling braille with a friend who fell super hard. Upon inspection we found a 10" chainsaw file in his tire! Locked his rear tire up and caused the crash. You faired much better than he!
Live and learn and then get the OneUp EDC pump with the EDC multi tool and the EDC tire plug kit. All of it fits in the pump and tucks away right next to the water bottle cage. You will never forget it as long as you don't forget your bike. :) I love mine. I had to use the chain brake to fix a busted chian in the middle of a ride. Worth every penny at that point. I am glad you made it out safe man!
Been there done that...had everything you’re supposed to have and none of it worked. My spare tube was so old my tools had worn a hole in it. Nothing like a long walk out to motivate a backpack overhaul.
Oh man, that was quite the adventure! I have a strong suspicion that this all happened because of skimping on the appreciation station last week. Pip has been notified.
man I live in the area and Im working my way up to riding Braille, but I just had to evacuate this area because of all the fires. Its inspiring seeing you ride our local trails so well but Im really getting mixed emotions right now
Dogs don't know it's not bacon! Hey, recently got the Stan's Dart plug tool. I've had the Dynaplugs and everything. This seems to be the best implementation I've found. Oh yea, and I highly recommend Vittoria Airliners. For a whole host of ride quality reasons over Cush or the others, but also because of the fringe benefit of...Ride Flat!
I rode Braille a month or so ago, scared the crap out of me! You really have to turn you brain off and just let gravity do its thing. That ride out is a bitch, just put it in 1st and grind your way out. Loved this series and the 80's references, good stuff man!
Always bring a pump! Ha ha I know the feeling I have bonked out going up the 4 mile fire road climb so many times. I really wanted to go ride sawpit last weekend but now the mountains are on fire and the air is horrible up there. 🤙😜
Awesome videos they keep me entertained when its slow at work and kinda like watchin a skate video before going skating they pump me up to go out and go on my own rides🚵🚵🚵 👍👍🎸🎸👍👍
At least you don’t have to deal with what I have to deal with. One time I was riding up to rock it, I fell, and my derailer thing broke. Another time my chain randomly broke. The climb to rock it is cursed.
Dude! This had to have been one of your best videos.. a real riders video.. in such a hurry to get out of the house before the wife finds something for you to do other than go for a ride, you forget shit you usually have glued to you. LOL!!
Never been up there and was planning a trip up in next month. Anyone know if these trails held up after disastrous fires or if they were in vicinity? Heart breaks for that area
I had a day like that today. Ugh I forgot my camera mount. Then when I went into editing and did the wrong timeline settings and when I redid it I messed up the audio. You win some you lose some. The way life goes
Hahah oh man what a ride, great story at least. I thought you handled it as well as you could, that climb out is so brutal gotta save up for it. Shocked you didn’t pass by anyone with a pump.

Live and learn for sure Jamie!
love the fast forward uphill video with motocross sfx. NICE!
Glad you liked it!
Tony, you are killing it my friend, frggn killing it!! Keep pedalin🤟
Thanks David - appreciated my friend!
super fun trail, i got to ride it the week before christmas before the rains closed everything in SC
Glad you got that trip in before the fires!! So sad.
Was just a few days before. Just awful.
If you come up to the bay again hit me up and I’ll take you to tamarancho. You’d like it! I’ll bring an extra tube as well!!🤩
This place looks amazing!
So fun!
The Outsider MTB thanks for making great quality and useful videos

Wow! That sounds life changing man. Geez. Glad you made it out. Cheers.
Glad to hear you made it out!

It’s time for some Braille redemption!!!
Yessssss

Love the "Rad!" clips
Dude your hair keeps getting more and more wild then again so is mine
Life comes at you fast Adir. 😉
If you don’t stop to look around once in a while youjust might miss it
Keep exploring Santa Cruz, it still has soo much to offer!!
That's the plan!
Had a similar situation last year, got about a half mile down ridge and slashed the rear tire. Forgot the air pump and had to walk back to the car ~ 4 miles
The worst! Haha I feel you!
Bummer about the flat. A couple years ago I did that 2 weeks in a row. Although I live in Morro Bay demo is my favorite riding area. Your videos are high quality. I have some pretty good footage but I can’t edit at all.
Cheers Bill - you live in a beautiful place.
I heard the fires were getting pretty damn close to Santa Cruz. Stay safe man!
They’re in and all over Santa Cruz.
Thanks
Very interesting video
👍

Wow crazy!
Morning Tony. Brilliant Mate! I've got the insomnia thing going on over here so watching RUclips at 03.30 in the morning. This was a great watch. 👍
Haha cheers Mark! Hope you get some shut eye soon. 👍
@@TheOutsiderMTB Am up and about now Mate so will save it for tonight now. 🤜
Get STANS Dart tool. Probably the best and easiest puncture tool on the market today hands down.
Another entertaining vid 👍
Thanks 👍
chris calomino this....magic
Glad to hear this I just picked one up.
This is dope. 1st hand view of how forgetting stuff van affect the whole ride. Thanks!.
Haha for real. Cheers. 😎

Thanks for the tips! Right on Ben.
Been there done that...had everything you’re supposed to have and none of it worked. My spare tube was so old my tools had worn a hole in it. Nothing like a long walk out to motivate a backpack overhaul.
Thanks for sharing - I'm not alone! haha
Thats the speed I would be going lol (After the flat)
😂
lol kind felt good your not having fun, now you feel my pain sitting here watching (and of course drinking IPA's) your cool vids hahaha
😂
I like riding alone. It gives me more time to talk to myself.
Exactly.
I’m surprised there weren’t a bunch of people to ask for a pump. Must have been nice and empty.
Yup - weekday.
Oh man, that was quite the adventure! I have a strong suspicion that this all happened because of skimping on the appreciation station last week. Pip has been notified.
HAHAHA cheers Adam!
The Outsider MTB 🍻
Hey Stunad!!!! live and learn
at least you didn't have to do 6 mile walk of shame out of there
Haha true true. But I was a Stunad!
Nice, need more stand up. It sets you apart!
Haha cheers Steven!
man I live in the area and Im working my way up to riding Braille, but I just had to evacuate this area because of all the fires. Its inspiring seeing you ride our local trails so well but Im really getting mixed emotions right now
Stay safe!
I think you got the last video of the area before all the fires! Stan Darts work real good and dont come out like the bacon strips.
Think you're right.
Dogs don't know it's not bacon! Hey, recently got the Stan's Dart plug tool. I've had the Dynaplugs and everything. This seems to be the best implementation I've found. Wow a week long climb...hahhaha good stuff man! Theres always next time
You got that right! I had to shave by the time I got the truck!
Lol lacroch!! 😂
That one stuck with me.
The Outsider MTB 😂
Need to make some neon color strips for sure!
Yessss....
Always bring a pump! Ha ha I know the feeling I have bonked out going up the 4 mile fire road climb so many times. I really wanted to go ride sawpit last weekend but now the mountains are on fire and the air is horrible up there. 🤙😜
Good call and yeah things are crazy up there right now man.
Dude, you gotta drop the movie references in the drop down. I laughed so hard, I want to see those, now!
Haha it’s from RAD - classic 80s bmx movie. 😉
When did you film the current footage for this video? Aren't the Santa Cruz mountains on fire now. Or at least there is a big fire near there.
Yes. This was a few days before.
Awesome videos they keep me entertained when its slow at work and kinda like watchin a skate video before going skating they pump me up to go out and go on my own rides🚵🚵🚵 👍👍🎸🎸👍👍
That's awesome!
Grandpa always said a man well prepared is better than 16 men
Grandpa should have told me that before my ride Steven.
At least you don’t have to deal with what I have to deal with. One time I was riding up to rock it, I fell, and my derailer thing broke. Another time my chain randomly broke. The climb to rock it is cursed.
Ups and downs my friend.
Next time yer up I can be the sag wagon. I'm the kind of guy that carries the shop in the pack.
Haha cheers. 👍
Good vids man but need to tone down the RUclips adds
Was that Lori Loughlin the celebrity criminal in your dance clip
Sure was Brian.
Dude! This had to have been one of your best videos.. a real riders video.. in such a hurry to get out of the house before the wife finds something for you to do other than go for a ride, you forget shit you usually have glued to you. LOL!!
Hahaha! Cheers James!
Love the footage from the movie Rad...
Thanks!
What saddle are you running tony?
Bontrager that came with the Remedy.
the ending had me dying! haha
😉🙋🏻♂️
Tony Rigatoni!
Yoooooooo!
Never been up there and was planning a trip up in next month. Anyone know if these trails held up after disastrous fires or if they were in vicinity? Heart breaks for that area
These trails are ok - the fires on to the west of here. But the trails are closed right now due to smoke and keeping the roads chill.
Lol keep the videos coming
Will do Evan!
Another option would have been to wait for another rider to come down and borrow their pump! `\_o_/`
All I saw was the guy with the monacle.
Just attach one to your bottle cage and be done with it
Good call.
Am I the only one who uses pine needles as bacon strips? Lol
Haha I think so.
I had a day like that today. Ugh I forgot my camera mount. Then when I went into editing and did the wrong timeline settings and when I redid it I messed up the audio.
You win some you lose some. The way life goes
Ups and downs Teddy.
Do you work at a bike shop in aptos?
No I live in SoCal.
The Outsider MTB oooh my bad! Hopefully I see ya on the trails someday in sc!
Well you didn't have to walk.
Hahah oh man what a ride, great story at least. I thought you handled it as well as you could, that climb out is so brutal gotta save up for it. Shocked you didn’t pass by anyone with a pump.
Haha thanks man! Was a rough one for sure.
Next time bring a tube that way at least you can get back the car
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's funny the things you say when you're dead. ⚰️
😉
When you said Italian theme, I immediately though of that video where you kept saying how you doin? In an Italian voice.
Haha - that was a fun one.
Even with a slow leak its a Awesome trail! 🤙🏽
Agreed!
In my best Bugs Bunny voice.... "Whatta-maroon!!" hah... been there done that one. sucks!
Happens to us all for sure haha.
Lol can't stop laughing.....
😉
2:37 Hey man, skaters can't use BMX footage. That's a rule!
Haha! 😎
Ah...young Lori Laughlin before her life of crime.
Tony I mean this respectfully. But you're losing your mind.
Totally agree Kevin. 🤫
Even with low PSI you still way faster than me 😂😂😂
Haha 😉
bored at work, confirmed
