  • Should you use Advantage+ Placements in your Facebook ad campaigns or Instagram ad campaigns?
    Meta has rebranded Automatic Placements as Advantage+ Placements and they recommend that you use it.
    There are times where you should use Advantage+ Placements and times when you shouldn't Advantage+ Placements.
    In this video I walk through those scenarios and show you which Facebook ad placement options you should use.

    Love Your Content Ben!! In the same matter but on a different subject (related to optimization). In a situation where I run a Sales campaign (conversions) and I sell expensive products. I have both a purchase button and a "leads" button you can call it that way... It's rare that someone makes a purchase without talking to us first. Would you optimize for a purchase or a lead when it comes to a conversion event? The final goal is a purchase, the way to get there is usually by talking to our team. Thanks in advance, again, love your content.

    Should I use Advantage+ placements when I have just started posting Facebook ads, taking into account that I am using a conversion-based campaign objective and that I am optimizing for conversions?
    Could my lack of previous data cause the algorithm to place my ads in random locations at the start?

    Iv got an interesting question Ben.
    I’m using FB ads to drive traffic to my Fiverr gig so there is no FB pixel to track conversions.
    With this in mind, am I using Advantage or not? Also what type of campaign?
    I actually set it up manual and to show ads in the feed only as I heard this is where conversions are more likely to take place.
    Keen to hear your thought.

    Is Advantage + only good if you have current facebook pixel data on add to cart, abondaned cart, land on page. Or will is perform okay without a pixel?

    in short, if it's link clicks you optimise for, turn off the audio network.
    If it's a conversion you're optimizing for, leave advantage + placements on?

    Ben, I'm a new subscriber and I just want to say, your videos have been a lifesaver! 🙏🏼 After watching your last video, I have a question. You said you always recommend running "sales" ads for the best conversion, but for some reason I can't install the pixel because my accounts are eligible yet. That said, can I still run sales conversions ads, or is my best bet at this point "traffic" ads? Thanks!!!

      I don't always use sales. We will also use the leads objective for example.
      If you are sending people to your website then yes, you need to install the Pixel to get the most out of a sales campaign.
      You can use traffic in the meantime but the results will be significantly worse. I would probably wait until you can use the Pixel.

    PLEASE make a video on how to disable 'Info Labels' at the ad level!!! It's very annoying when I have to deselect all the options within the info labels and then it populates it automatically right after again! I don't see this feature as having any benefit to my ads

    Ben, what would you recommend me to do? I need a campaign for leads, sales or conversions and it should be running on Instagram only, so conversion location should be instagram direct, cta "send message". Because I don't have good website for the funnel and my target audience is on the Instagram, I don't want clients from Facebook. With the new FB ads interface i'm just not able to run campaign that I need and with old interface it was not a problem. Fb just removed very needed functional which is stupid.

    Good day Ben I've run a campaign for 3months now at the beginning it was doeie greate. I also dit the 4 ad sets and I started to scale the campaign..facebook gave me an agent to help me with the campaign at the beginning it helped and the campaign grow but the last month results dropped of alot but she had us combine alot of ad sets and put retargeting and lookalike in one ad set and put a bunch of targeting options into 1 ad set when results start to drop of and it dit not change anything...so now i dont know must I just tell her ill will go on my own...and then try to fix campaign of just turn this one off and start a new one and dit what I dit...

    Ben, I'm a Facebook marketer. I've been prospecting in specific categories, checking out ads and pursuing advertisers that might need help. Because, I've clicked on ads, I'm starting to get more ads from similar advertisers in the same categories. Here's the strange thing. I'm now getting ads from distant parts of the USA, Germany, and New Zealand. I have notified a few of these folks to let them know that their ad dollars are being wasted. There can't be that many people making a mistake with their geographic targeting. What setting is causing these wasteful placements?

      Probably retargeting ads? If you interacted with their ads/fb page/ig page you may have entered their custom retargeting audiences.

      @@DanEnescu let me clarify... I clicked on an ad for a local roofer, for instance. I started getting more roofer ads, but for roofers from Florida, New Jersey, Germany, Canada, etc. Not ads based on a specific company's retargeting, but ads based on "category interest", regardless of my location.

    Hi Ben, should i still use this guideline even if my budget is pretty small. I work with a client thats in the eyewear niche and we have a budget of 60dollars per day. 4 adsets with 15dollars per adset. But if i have a small budget and use advantage+ placemnts, wont that make it so my ads gets placed in the cheaper options like the auiance network insted of reels, feeds and stories.

    Big question is when will FB bring back the option to schedule an ad on a scheduled post lol We're no longer able to schedule a post and schedule the ad at the same time :( We're having to wait for the scheduled post to be published, and then go through the process of creating our ad.

      Hi slbdn, I came across your reply and I had a question for you, if you don't mind? Originally I was looking to run sales conversion ads, but I'm not able to install the pixel. That said, I figured the next best thing would be to run "traffic" ads. I'm just curious, how were you able to run sales conversion ads without the pixel? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

      Basically I would run messaging conversion ads, in that way I would generate leads, and some of those leads would later convert into sales. Facebook would only register messaging conversion, not the sale itself.
      Under Sales Campaign, Engagement Campaign or Leads Campaign you can choose for your conversion to happen in messaging apps, and then the campaign is optimized for conversations.
      I think that Ben even mentioned it in one of his videos that campaign objectives don't even matter that much anymore rather it's optimization for ad delivery that matters.

    Did it maintain?
    I have not had any success with Advantage+ on a $9 product. Normal ads: $5-25 CPA
    this after 20k spent: $400 CPA 😂

    Ben, I'm getting extremely low CPM ($ 1 USD), low CTR (0.25%) but still low CPC ($ 0.40 USD. Is this normal or very unusual?

      We don’t see CPMs that very low often but I would enjoy it!

    Don’t really agree. Facebook would be using less than $0.5 on lower quality placement and you’re running agains FB algorithm. Power5 or now called Meta Performance 5 is all about that.
