Shake shake the tomato sauce bottle! First none will come, and then a lottle!! Nothing beats a good boerewors. I can almost smell it. One of the things I miss over here in New Zealand. What a beautiful place to stay in. Love the bidet in the loo. De Rust is amazing. My ancestors are from here. Love the antique shop. And yes, I remember the nommer asseblief fone. Those were the days. Now I feel old. Hell, I AM old!
🤣 Indeed! She knew it was going to happen though! 🌭 It's a wonderfully beautiful part of the Klein Karoo. 😍 Your ancestors were fortunate to have called this area home.
Wow awesome beautiful farmstay. Loved the pretty town of De Rust. The Mengelmoeskardoes caught my attention with the Police exhibit and wind up telephones. Pretty houses with mountain views. Thank you the wake up coffee show and as always keep the wow (World of Wonder) factor and the awesome ( spelled out in words in last video comment). 😀😀😀😀😀☀️
Thank you so much! 😊 Having just come through Meiringspoort, the beauty just continued! 🤩 It was a fantastic place to stay, we loved it and felt so spoilt! 😁 That antique shop was so intriguing, I could probably spend hours in there. 😝
How privileged those people are to live on such a beautiful farm. The area is awe inspiring. It sometimes takes one, to move away from South Africa to genuinely appreciate its beauty and uniqueness. Also the many wonderful people with their colourful personalities. Thank you both for your wonderful videos showcasing SA, it is a sure way to rid me of my " grumpy goatness" : D
We're so happy to bring you these videos of the beautiful places we get to visit! 🤩 It's lovely to hear that you enjoy them and that they put a smile on your face, thank you. 😊 This area is magnificently beautiful and definitely worth a visit. 👌🏻
My aunt and Uncle owned the house that is now Oliviers Rust in the main road (#9) in the 1980/90s. Stayed over one night from Pretoria to Keurbooms (thru Meiringspoort). I remember sitting with my uncle on the stoep the next morning having "koffie" and him chirping the Dominee's wife and her friends jogging past. What a memory from Perth Western Australia. A very special town is De Rust. A great video. Well done.
Greetings to you in Australia! 🙋♀️🙋🏼♂️ We loved the town and of course the scenery in the area is breathtaking! 😍 Having recently driven down that main road, I can just imagine you and your uncle on the porch, observing all the goings-on. That street lends itself perfectly to brilliant people-watching, I'm sure! 😁
Your accomadation was amazing, the drone footage marvelous. Loved the cattle going out to pasture they looked so happy skipping about. De Rust is really a beautiful small town thought the antique shop really cute. Can remember using many of those older things . I suppose I have given away my age now 😊
Your age makes you wise and that's a great thing. 😊 I loved walking around with the farmer when he was moving the cattle to a different field, it was a cool experience! 🐂 That antique shop was filled with so many interesting things. 🤩
Thanks for the memories, De Rust has developed some since I was there last in 2014 it seems. Only two things I can fault with this video, one is not mentioning the huge Aloes as you entered your stayover pozzie and two is not using the fire pit to cook the boerie on. Mooi loop from a expat SA oke now living in California. Hope to be there next August. I would have to stay over on that farm as well.
Thank you, we're glad that you enjoyed the video and hopefully you'll forgive us the two 'mistakes'. 😁 You should definitely stay on that farm, the host is a South African who lived in California for 35 years. He has US license plates and road signs on the farm roads and buildings too! 🇺🇸 Having lived in NY and FL ourselves for a number of years, we rather enjoyed that quirkiness! 🤩
I have that place pinned on my Google maps already. My aloe like that, Aloe Ferox is growing well here for about twenty years but is only about 1/4 that size. Couldn’t help but spot it as you came in. Lekker travel, I’m catching up on all your travels. SA is one beautiful place.
We felt super spoilt at our accommodation! 🤩 The natural beauty of this area is absolutely breathtaking and we're grateful that we were able to explore a small section of it. Luckily the wind from the previous day had subsided somewhat, which allowed me to fly the drone. Glad to hear you enjoyed it too. 😊
Thank you for your suggestions! 👍 We've thought of adding prices and will certainly look at including these in future videos. We often have grand plans to prepare food in the evenings and film it, but we're so bushed when we arrive, that we just don't get to it. 🤷♂️ Most of our food is on the go or takeaway style. 🍲🥘
We stayed in that town 2 years ago, had a beer at The Grumpy Goat, the Lady where we stayed said she was born there and never going to move from there, she's lucky and happy
It was our first visit to your channel😊 thank you for sharing this with us. I love detail and would like to ask you ( if it's at all possible) that when you drive through the towns, if you could just comment more on the little shops you pass.😊 you drove too fast for us to read the names and see what types of shops it was. Love you guys and can't wait to watch the rest of your videos ❤
Welcome to our channel! 🚙😁 Shops aren't really our thing, but we do show some in detail on occasion. I don't see that changing, I'm afraid. We much prefer exploring a town to find its historical sites and buildings, cool architecture and other places and things we find interesting, and of course its surrounding natural beauty.
No, somehow we missed the blockhouse that time, but have made a note for when we visit the area again. Thank you for alerting us to it, we find blockhouses very fascinating! 😎🚗
Have you taken the diepwalle gravel road between knysna and uniondale because I'm very curious about a town called avontuur on that road. That was also a most breathtaking experience I will never forget
Avontuur sounds intriguing. 👌🏻We did travel this road between Knysna and Uniondale, but did not have time to stop at Avontuur. We had to make it to Uniondale for provisions before closing time and to our farmstay before dark, so we pushed on. Check out Episodes 82 to 85 for our journey through this area. 😊
No problem, I'm happy to answer. 👍🏻 Sonia has always been very camera-shy and I haven't been able to convince her yet to appear in front of the camera with me. 😁 She has a very serious knee problem after failed knee surgeries and it's difficult for her to get in and out of the vehicle as often as I do. Uneven surfaces and stairs are also a no-no for her for the most part. 😣
@@DustBugsTravel Again, sorry for being inquisitive - I get asked very often how i ride , drive , sail etc. with only one arm. thanks for enlightening me - be blessed

@DustLust Oh, tomato sauce is for sekere smake wat mens wil toegooi! Not real boerewors! That would be sacrilege

"De Rust" - No better name for that beautiful restful town.
Thank you again you two for a wonderful trip!
You're so right! 👌🏻 It's so peaceful there, we just felt like resting all the time. 😁 Glad you enjoyed this one. 😊
@@DustBugsTravelDo a trip to De Rust town, just the other side of Grabouw.

Really lovely town.❤
De Rust is Pragtig! Groete!
Love the drone footage.
Loved it, thenk you
Happy to hear! 👍😊
The cold town you mentioned is probably Sutherland.
Did you notice the ABW british blockhouse on the hill just out of town?
No, somehow we missed the blockhouse that time, but have made a note for when we visit the area again. Thank you for alerting us to it, we find blockhouses very fascinating! 😎🚗
Would love to meet Sonia on your videos. Your videos warm us up in Canada
I noticed steps off the main street to most front doors!!! Quirky

Thank you so much! 👍🏻 I have the DJI Mini SE. I'm still a novice and am very happy with it so far. 😎

What car you drive
We rent a vehicle for each trip and it has always been a Renault Kwid. 🚙
Thanks
Much appreciated, thank you. 😊🚗
