This is another beautiful memory going back to childhood. Me and my Beloved drove this pass quite a few times between touching on in Kleinbrakrivier to visit friends. My Beloved is today three years passed away and I still miss him just as much!😭😭😭 The N2 is a long and tiring road.
What a sad day today must be for you. 😢 We're sure the good memories will keep you going though. 🤗🌹 We're not fans of the N2 either, but it does take us places.
Thank you! We also thought those views were gorgeous, every shade of blue we could possibly imagine! 💙🏞️ The bright yellow of the canola fields we saw from the N2 were just as gorgeous and seemed to go on forever! 🌻
My wife and I also did some traveling, just like you doing driving on the Old roads / Gravel roads: From home - East London, via inland towards Graff Rianet, Stayed for 3 days (Base), 4th day traveling via Klipplart towards Bavariaan kloof. Stayed a night, But we're unable to drive through due to the poor road conditions. So we ended up driving the long way to Port Elizabeth. Stayed the night , then we headed back to East London (Home). Thanks for sharing your story. Regards
Greetings to you in East London! 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏼♂️That sounds like a great route you had planned. 🤩 Every so often, nature interferes with our plans and roads become impassable, but then one does exactly what you did. Find a different route, which no doubt will deliver spectacular results of its own. 😁
Yes: Also my wife loves plants. Which we also stopped to take photos of. And at the time of our driver's we saw a swarm of locusts covering the whole road, was like a carpet.. can't wait for your next adventure. Happy travel's
Many thanks! 😊 You were in the back seat all the way and we expect to see you there in the next episode again when our next trip starts! 🚗 Thank you for joining us.
Dear Travelers, I'm glad I found this series because I really miss South Africa. We lived in Durban and traveled a lot, mainly in KZN. Now I have the opportunity to get to know this region through you. If you can, visit several handicraft shops, I also love the sculptures made of rusty iron :) Goodbye and happy travels!
Welcome! 🙋🏼♂️🙋🏻♀️ We're working our way towards Kwazulu-Natal and we're sure you'll enjoy those videos too. We do sometimes stop at farm stalls and film the products they have on display. 🤩
I travelled down this pass in 1981,when we were stopped by provincial police and army,at a roadblock.the morning after the Buffels rivier burst its bank and caused the disterous flood which resulted in the tragic loss of lives and property in Laingsburg. We were directed down Meiringspoort pass. This gave us the opportunity to explore Oudtshoorn, then down the Robinson pass to Mosselbay and the N 2 to Cape Town,A month later we returned to Johannesburg via the N1 The devestation of Laingsburg, was terrible to see. Reguards from, Michael Jonathan Lewis,Allan's-Nek, Roodepoort,J H B, R S A.
Wow, what a tragically-historic day you happened to be in the area! 😨 Thank you for sharing your very interesting story. Devastation, and utter devastation at that, was caused by these floods. 😢 Similarly to your story, Sonia and her family also travelled through Laingsburg from Gauteng in December 1981 and, although still very young, she clearly remembers the tent and mobile home villages which had sprung up along the N1. When driving through there today, one almost can't believe how the town has bounced back! 😇
@@DustBugsTravel Quite so,on our return through Laingsburg, the bridge which was washed away, had been replaced with wooden sleepers, the town devestated. When I returned there in 1998,the mud was still evident in the area around Lategaan's Towing service garage.I must thank you for all of these splendid videos of the South African country side.Go well, Reguards from, Michael Jonathan Lewis,Allan's-Nek, Roodepoort,J H B, R S A.
😄 And I love it that you can identify with that! It's 100% true though, we're so used to being delayed by the condition of and / or what we see on gravel, but I love that! I'd do only gravel if I could. Your time in the Transkei sounds interesting, that's another beautiful part of our country. 🇿🇦
Thank you so much! So it was you in the back seat, welcome! 😁🚗 Join us in the next episode for the first day of our most recent trip, we hope you enjoy that one too! 😊
Nothing happened to those places. 😁 We just didn't have time, we had to get back to Strand, unpack, have our rental car cleaned and returned on time. We only stopped in Oudtshoorn for fuel and breakfast. 🚗🍔
We live very close to Cape Town, so had a long way to travel to get home, unpack our rental car, have it cleaned and returned to the airport on time. We only focused on the Robinson Pass itself and the scenery visible from the Pass. We're not sure when we'll visit the area again, but we'll certainly keep your suggestion in mind. We hope there was at least something in our video that you enjoyed. 😁
I enjoy every trip and thanks for the amazing adventures which you've taken us.May God bless you and keep you with every step in your lives, thanks again
You're so very welcome! It makes us happy that you enjoy being on the road with us and we look forward to you going to many more amazing places with us. 😊🚗

Wow i enjoy your content,Western cape has beautiful places to visit
Love the blue skies! What a beautiful day that was compared to my chilly UK brrrrr🥶
I love how you think distances in terms of gravel roads. Years ago while working in rural old Transkei my mind used to work like that.
😄 And I love it that you can identify with that! It's 100% true though, we're so used to being delayed by the condition of and / or what we see on gravel, but I love that! I'd do only gravel if I could. Your time in the Transkei sounds interesting, that's another beautiful part of our country. 🇿🇦
Love your videos. Absolutely brilliant. Only just recently discovered your channel, but I have already been on a few trips now :) Safe travels.
