Beneath the Remains and Arise are very special Sepultura thrash albums. ARISE takes the lead by a hair, as it should being the natural follow up with the benefit of progression. Great band. QUADRA is the CD I have waited over 20 years for. Things went down when Max left, but I didnt automatically assume they would be awful without him.

Favourite classic thrash metal band: Metallica.
Favourite new wave thrash bands: Evile and Havok.
Ps. That answer of the question of the day really touched me. I had that flick of a switch moment after a really tumultuous relationship ended. It's one of my weaknesses that I care too much about what people think of me and that I want to please those people. But when that relationship ended, I just stopped caring...It was such a weird but at the same time relieving feeling. I was always working so hard in school and at work to please others that it brought me to the brink of a severe depression. But having that flick of a switch moment really made me realise what's important in life. And for me those things are my closest friends and bandmates and the good times we spend together, since those are the things you will remember with a smile when you are old.
Keep up the good work Ola and Louise! Greetings from a long time fan from the Netherlands.

Kirk came from Exodus to replace Dave Mustain. I was 13 in 86 and just ate, drank, breathed and lived Thrash! Death was my absolute favorite! The first time I heard Chuck “sing” I almost went into a coma! I grew up in Orlando, Florida and during the 80s there was a show or concert EVERY weekend! I seen so many of them live! Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, Testament, Anthrax, Danzig, you name it and I have the ticket stub! There will never be another time like it! Death- Leprocy is to me what Slayer Reign in Blood is to you, as great as Reign is.
    R.I.P. Chuck
When “Load” was released, they were no longer “MY” Metallica.

Umm Morbid Saint, and also not thrash but a band you need to hear is XOTH from Seattle, technical spacey black thrashy death metal. Anthrax were actually more popular than Slayer and Megadeth at certain points during the 80's and early 90's. If you look at the album chart positions by year, some of their early to mid-career albums were ranked higher than Slayer and Megadeth albums at the time. Their videos were in heavy rotation on MTV and they also had a series of mainstream crossovers like the famous collaboration with Run-DMC on their song "Bring the Noise" and a guest appearance on the episode of "Married With Children", but for some reason since the mid 90s their popularity started declining while the other 3 of the big four were successful at maintaining their relative popularity level throughout the rest of the 90's and early 00's and that's probably why people these days think of them as the 4th of the four, or maybe even undeserving of the spot in the big four. One thing that hit them really hard in the aftermath of 9/11 was the series of terror attacks with letters laced with anthrax that almost caused them to change their name.

One trash band that had a huge impact on me and my friends was Destruction back in the day. Bestial invasion, what a great tune. #1 Was Metallica but closely followed by Anthrax, Exodus and Megadeth for us, then followed by Slayer and the regular non thrash bands like Priest, Maiden, Ozzy, Raven for us at least. Later on Dream Theater and Pantera. BUT< it all started with Black Sabbath for the metal era for my influences. Cheers Al

Exodus was one of the first, if not THE first thrash band. Kirk Hammett started that band, yet people credit Dave Mustaine with creating thrash. Dave wasn't the only one playing this style of music. It was a movement, not just individuals.
