This is exactly what I needed to hear. Much of what you've said about the confusion in situating one's self as a mixed methods researcher resonate with me. But you've brought such clarity thank you!
I am working on my research proposal, and, I am perplexed of mix-method study . After watching this video, I finally got the clear picture of what is pragmatic approach. Thank you very much, Dr. It has been quite valuable to my work.
A Good review of paradigms. For example, all eyes can not be BOTH, a sophisticated control system, and simultaneously "badly adjusted cameras". Two world views, that can not be compromised - and make logical common sense of the eye's behavior.
Thank you very much for this video. It clarified all my doubts about the worldviews and philosophical views. I was so confused!! I looked up literature but everything I had found was as confusing. Moving on now with my methodology. Cheers!
Once again, you have saved the day, Dr. K. Amazing support here and you have answered so many questions and cleared up my confusion, saving me hours of reading. Thank you so much for making these videos!
THANK YOU so much for your video's excellent explanations of those difficult terms. I was so lost and confused but you made all the puzzle pieces come together.
Once again, so helpful! I am conducting mixed methods research for my postgraduate degree and you explanation of pragmatism has helped me tremendously. Thank you 😊
You have given an amazing explanation. It makes a lot of sense to use Pragmatism in mixed methods research. However, there are many other worldviews that are suitable for mixed methods. Please make videos on transformative, critical realism, postmodernism, yin-yang, dialectical pluralism, and performative paradigms. Please also explain the context in which these worldviews can be used. Thank you for creating good videos.
Great share, very supportive. I am doing a study of transformative learning in undergrad degree programs in the US. Is it happening, at all? When it is, what is/are the source(s). Does "serious simulation" factor into transformative learning? How does Openness to Experience factor into transformative learning experiences?
Hello. I am on Proposal stage of my study. I would appreciate your input in the following: Study design is basic qualitative. Data collection tools are an online survey and phone interview (open ended questions). My question is, given this information, can my study still be qualitative in nature and use the data from the survey to inform and complement the data collected through the phone interviews? I appreciate any input!
@@qualitativeresearchermany thanks for the clarification. I am doing my dissertation with the aim to design a road map for decarbonisation in a particular organisation. I am not sure if that would fit into a pragmatic research with a case study strategy?

what about dialectical pluralism?

Hii. your study is qualitative as it is a exploratory in nature. But after the survey response if you put it on a model, it will be quantitative.
Could you please mention any reference?
Try Creswell and Clarke's book on mixed methods research
Start real at 4.55
Do you have any recommended literature for pragmatism?
Charles Sanders Peirce! You'll find it as "pragmaticism" as well. And take a look at Creswell (2003) as well.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
a step-by-step guide for beginners
Can case study research be pragmatism?
it definitely can, if you convincingly justify this
@@qualitativeresearchermany thanks for the clarification. I am doing my dissertation with the aim to design a road map for decarbonisation in a particular organisation. I am not sure if that would fit into a pragmatic research with a case study strategy?
@@sonamdagay334 this will depend on your worldview and on your chosen methods mainly
@@qualitativeresearcher many thanks
pls. pls .pls teach on a medium angle camara shot. If not, this is communicatively disturbing to audience
Does the "medium angle" refer to the height of the camera or the distance ? I don't know these terms :)
Thank you, Dr. K! This is very useful for the paper that I am currently writing. Cheers!
You're very welcome!
