11 minutes is golden. Love the "however" and it is a "big however"! Great work, Doc!

Whenever I am wresting with any idea or confusion, I come here and you always have the answer for me. The same happening now. Thanks a lot, for explaining it the way I was seeking the answers.

Thank for sharing! I tottaly agree with you and I use to say to my students exactly what you said: "you always haver a theory, even if you don't have a theoretical framework". Thanks and have an excelent New year!!

Thank you so much for explaining this theoretical framework. It was difficult for my lecturer to explain it and break it down into a simple terms. This is so simplified. Thanks a lot Dr.

Thank you for the wonderful explaining Dr. But isn't it possible to do a deductive analysis of a certain theory probably in a different context or case, and at the end of your analysis coming up with your own findings which can be sort of theory of its own?

You are right, I suppose you can do that too, which would be a combination of 2 of the 5 mentioned uses of theory (theory as a framework for deductive analysis + theory from the findings)

@@qualitativeresearcher Superb. I am currently using this method, and hopefully will come up with a theory or better still verify or disapprove a contemporary theory in a different case.

@@pamodoumboob7236 good luck, and remember that every outcome is equally good - if your findings are the same/similar, it means that you added more evidence to the model/theory, & if your findings are different, you're generating new insights

Thanks for making this video Dr Kriukow. I have learned new things. Quick question: Does it suggest that we still should have a theory to inform our philosophical assumptions (ontology, epistemology, etc.) but not necessarily a "theoretical framework" if we do inductive approach?

I explain this in the video. You will always have some philosophical approach, which you will usually be expected to discuss, but you do not always have to impose a theoretical framework onto your data analysis

How do you explain the difference between theoretical and conceptual framework?

  • @rbcruz6708

Thank you for this, Doc. What about a conceptual framework for a qualitative research?

dr. kriukow, im a novice researcher, and my research is qualitative, i already have my conceptual framework, do i have to remove my theoretical? thank you, :)

You don't. Whether you have any of these in your study are your decision
