Finally, with 3 weeks to go until I hand in my masters thesis, I have just meaningfully re-written my justification for selecting qualitative research. Thank You!
Beginning my doctoral journey in Curriculum and Instruction, I struggled with understanding ontological beliefs, epistemological beliefs and choosing a theoretical framework. Your video saved me life! I finally "get it"
I've missed your videos! This five minute video has taught me something that around 9-10 people have attempted to teach me - I just could never GET it - but this has done it - I finally understand. ALSO DOC - I got a 78/Disctinction on my MSc - thanks in part to your videos.
Great! I'm happy that I succeeded with the video, and flattered to hear that my content has contributed to your academic success! Hopefully you'll find these videos useful also beyond the master's programme now that you've finished :)
Dear Dr Kriukow, First of all I want to thank you for making us understand about many topics and concepts related to research and issues faced by researchers. I have learned so much from you. This video is very helpful in understanding many concepts, but i want to request to make a video on objectivism as from 3 to 3:11 the concept is not very clear for me and confusing me a bit as you have linked objectivism with epistemology. Looking forward for your consideration and guidance. Regards,
Thank you for the suggestion. I may think of some content on this topic. Meanwhile, I do have some videos on similar topics that you can explore (I have some about writing the lit review, and some about how to read academic articles) - just go to my main channel page, click Videos at the top, and then use the search box to search for videos with the keywords that interest you
Thanks. this is really helpful. Part of my confusion is that there seem so many terms and I don't know if they are different or just nuanced. For example I have seen Ontology divided into 'Materialism' and 'Idealism". I presume if you take an ontological idealism stance you are using a relativist ontology? And Epistemology divided into 'Empiricism' and 'Rationalism' - presumably subjective and objective/positivist? For example is relativist ontology just another name for Idealism ontology - or are there differences? If you have a positivist ontology is that the same as rational ontology?
These are good questions, and you are right that there is confusion and plenty of terms that are overlapping and used interchangably. I would lie if I told you that I understand all of this , because I don't! This is why I suggest choosing a set of terms used by one specific author and clinging to them, otherwise you will simply go crazy try to understand this - and you will waste way too much time on this
This is confusing if not a wrong presentation of these essential ideas. The presenter should first learn about these paradigms before starting to confuse listeners.
Hi thanks for sharing your videos, I appreciate it. May ask for your email? I'll be inquiring about coding for a qualitative research :) Thank you for taking time of my message, hope to talk to you soon. God bless you

This is the best simplified explanation I’ve ever come across on these terms. Thank you Dr.
Glad to hear that! Thank you, and you're welcome :)
@@qualitativeresearcher Thank you Dr. You are genius
Great content, easily explained
Glad you think so, thanks!
Thank you! You have made concepts I have been trying to understand for a year now so simple.
I spent a whole semester without clearly understanding this. Thank you very much
Glad I could help! :)

Great suggestion!
Thanks for helping me understand the concepts! I've found more clarity regarding which research approach I want to undertake!
Excellent! I'm glad that it helped
I finally understand these concepts!
Great! This was my goal - glad I could help :)
