Brian Tichy: breakdown lesson of Alex Van Halen’s “I’m The One”

This is a drum breakdown, analysis, lesson I did for @modern_drummer online a couple years back of some of Alex Van Halen’s drum parts from “I’m The One”; the awesome high speed double kick shuffle tune off of Van Halen 1.
This is the raw iPhone camera audio only that I happened to stumble across on my phone. The one for Modern Drummer had the vocal mic and drum mics mixed from Pro Tools over this video. But, you can still hear what I’m saying on this. Alex rules! 🥁👍🏼
