A thing I love about Polnareff is that after losing Avdol and Iggy he ended up being the only thing that stopped the victory of not only DIO by saving Jotaro’s life but also Diavolo by giving his life to keep the requiem arrow out of Diavolo’s hands and the only reason either of those were possible were because they both looked down on Polnareff like if DIO had just killed him instead of screwing with him on the stairs and had Diavolo made sure he was dead they both would’ve won and that I’m pretty sure makes Polnareff the single most clutch character in Jojo.
Hes the goat, and now a turtle. Mvp.
It's crazy that when he meets Dio, he's not only in the bottom of the steps but he's also saved by his friends, as he can't beat DIO in any shape of form at that point. But against Diavolo, nobody is there to save him, he dies there and only lingers to life thanks to the arrow
Dio wanted polnareff as an ally thats why he screwed him in the stairs, to trick him to believe that deep inside, he was loyal to Dio. In the other hand, i dont think that diavolo had time to check if polnareff was alive.
@@recarrasHe was talking about the time he trew him off a cliff, where Daivolo had time, but would expect someone to survive being thrown of a cliff
Speedwagon
Vanilla legit got more main group casualties on his record than dio
Let us not forget Part 1. That adds an additional +2 to his killratio.
@@tergartcunninghan2013 can we really call the Polnareff wannabe a "main" character?
I know Joseph was revived but let's be real, he was actually dead for several minutes... So I don't think it's fair for Dio to count that one out.
@@tergartcunninghan2013Dio didn't kill Zeppeli, Tarkus did. Dio only really killed Jonathan and Kakyoin.
@@kevinmckean-gb2qz1. Joseph should definitely count, and also I believe that George Joestar's death is a very important part.
Hate him? Bro. He fought so many villains. He has a REALLY iconic stand and appearance. And the funny moments he created in the show was great. There is another reason for me (or maybe everyone): he really suffered. He lost his sister, his friends, and even his body and stand. He really lost everything he loved and thats very sad, plus, if you look at his life, you totally understand that he's not only a clown that gets too much screentime.
when he fought Hail 2 U, and said "Cherie is dead" and killed the doll.
That was one of the most heartbreaking moments of Jojos for me.
And the fact that it was after killing hanged man and already achieved his vengeance, it only shows how human he is.
@@yawarapuyurak3271Yes! Finally someone talks about that scene! It made me cry so much, it's one of, if not the most realistic portrayal of grief I've seen in anime!
@@nagigachamania6936 you too?! finally found someone that also talks about it! I guess it gets forgotten because it's not near the end?
It also hit hard as an older brother. That's why Polnareff is my fav in part 3.
@@yawarapuyurak3271 It hit me hard cuz he wanted his sister back so badly that he let that copy of her try to kill him, but when he sees that to remain thinking about her death will only hold him back, he says out loud "Sherry is dead" and kills the copy, therefore destroying what's holding him back, his grief. He definitely didn't finish mourning her death, but it's not something that keeps him from going ahead anymore. This whole scene is just sad and beautiful, and just like you said, the fact that it's after Polnareff killed J.Geil shows how human he is, cuz he's at peace now that the bastard is dead, but killing him didn't bring his sister back.
This scene, added with that scene when he cries tears of joy cuz Avdol is alive, was the moment I thought "Okay, you've stolen my heart".
@@nagigachamania6936 you've said it
"he's at peace now that the bastard is dead, but killing him didn't bring his sister back"
That's what hit me so hard at a personal level.
And seeing him happyfor Avdol was so nice after such a heavy moment.
I loved how Iggy's sacrifice also proved Vanilla Ice wrong when he said Iggy didn't have any humanity (ironic coming from a vampire), along with the narrator's note of how even having a stand is a statement to iggy's humanity
bruh, Iggy's death hit so hard for so mnay reasons.
It was him making a statement to the world that he exists.
It was him saving a friend.
It was him finally not running away from the world.
It was him being a little shit and sticking it up to Vanilla Ice.
Iggy showed in that moment so much humanity.
@@yawarapuyurak3271 I thought Iggy's damage was already fatal at that point, and he figured the best course of action to beat Vanilla Ice would be to save Polnareff to give him one more sneak attack chance once Vanilla Ice came out, even if it further shortened his own life. I thought it was Iggy's way of saying, "Fuck it, if I must go, I'm taking you down with me."
Either way, it's a great scene.
@@sandmaenchen I thought he could live tho. But you right, incredible scene, Iggy a true bro.
@catching.rainbows Nah it was that he had humanity, he said a dog couldn’t have resolve or a proud soul. Resolve and pride are two different traits then humanity
Iggy's death is legitimately the only time JJBA's successfully gotten me to cry, and I'm not ashamed to admit that.
That's impressive seeing all the deaths made either tear up or just bawl
Iggy and Joseph made me cry
That's not my case, i cried in almost every single death and even the fake ones. Avdol's real death hits hard, and when it seemed that Polnareff would actually die i was already about to cry, but once he showed that Iggy actually sacrificed himself i was like: 😐
y’all actually cry! bro it’s 2d frames switching at high speeds
@@ProReel135 I mean.
Any emotional experience could be downplayed through boiling it down to the absolute sum of its parts.
I never thought Polneraff was so hated. I love him and he is one of my favorite characters in Jojo.
same. Everyone I've ever met liked Polnareff in some way.
The only people I can think that don't like him is people who haven't reached till episode 21 of part 3. Part of that is definitely because of his iconic as fuck design (and he's fucking hot), when added with his prideful attitude, gives the impression that he's an asshole (I was one of this people with prejudice, curse at me if you want to). Another point is that he's obviously the comic relief of the group and unfortunatelly, we're so used to comic relief characters that have no other purpouse aside from being funny that we don't expect to have real emotional attachments to him at first.
Edit: He's my favorite character of all time (I love him so much it might be a problem), and all people I know that have watched Jojo said they also liked him a lot.
@@nagigachamania6936saying polnareff is hot is pretty LGBTQ+ of you
@@Seinsmelled well, I'm a straight woman, so it's not, but I totally understand anyone who simps for him like I do, regardless of their gender
@@nagigachamania6936 i forgot women existed
Polnareff exudes "supporting character" energy, and his continued survival and character development is just a solid twist. I kind of wish he got more of an epilogue than "he's a turtle now".
Cream is a terrifying stand when you think about how it represents paranoia and the fear of the unknown, what will happen in the future is in the dark and you could die at any moment because of the fragilty of life.
Polneraff lost a friend he thought was dead due to his actions in a sudden manner that he can’t even mourn for and for reasons that this time are genuinely outside his control and not his fault this time around.
He next loses another friend shortly after in an even more brutal manner. And then another friend is killed in a fight right after this one. Polneraff needs a hug after the hell he’s been through
Instead of being hugged, he hugged Jotaro and Joseph afterwards before saying goodbye to them.
For me, the best battle in the whole franchise. Especially if you don't know about it, like it was my case. I didn't see it coming and blew me away. Vanilla Ice is a disturbing villain done right.
I feel like people weigh Jotaro's successes too heavily against Polnareff. One of the earliest notions around Polnareff from the moment he changed sides was that the enemies knew absolutely everything about him. They knew his stand and its abilities, they knew about his quest for revenge, and they even knew that he was looking for a place to die. Comparatively, very few of the assassins wanted to fight Jotaro. They knew next to nothing about him. All they knew about Jotaro was that he's strong and fast. By the end, Dio doesn't even know why Jotaro wants him dead. If Dio sent someone to hold Holly hostage, he could have won instantly. The intel difference decided everything.
I like how this depicts how them agreeing to fight Dio means that they are ready to take sacrifices, knowing that some of them aren't going to go back home
This whole fight had me sobbing, Iggy's brutal end was... hard to watch. Polnareff just kept losing the people and things he held dear, it was cathartic to see him put such an end to that bastard Vanilla Ice but still, it shouldn't have ended the way it did.
Answer 3. Life is sometimes cruel.
@@EditUnivers75 yeah.. it really can
This was undoubtedly the most emotional scene in the whole series
This is a fight I think about often. I just love how it’s solved in such a genius way and the emotions. 10/10 fight
Was for sure hype, pretty satisfying but sad ending
You could say Polnareff won by melting ice.
Shoutout to you for congratulating this fight! One of my favorites too, and imo the most tense in the series
Polnareff & Iggy vs Vanilla Ice is unironically the best fight in Part 3 by a mile.
It felt like both parties were actively trying to kill each other with everything they had, while also exploiting each other's weaknesses.
Iggy and Avdol's deaths were also among the saddest moments in the series tbh. And while I would have preferred Avdol to actually have put up a fight, his and Iggy's sacrifice not only allowed Polnareff to win, but it also sold you on the *gravity* of the situation and how scary Dio must be if someone as strong as Vanilla Ice worships him like a god.
Easily a top 5 JoJo fight
The worst thing about vannila ice is he just killed avdol instantly that he doesnt even get a backstory
Might be a hot take, but I honestly thought this was the best fight of Stardust Crusaders. I get it that Jotaro vs DIO is pure hype with everything being on the line in that moment and finally seeing DIO in action after all the buildup to finally confronting him, but Vanilla Ice was always just a much more impactful fight to me. The contrast between Polnareff's heroic enthusiasm and willingness to face down the evil looming over him versus Vanilla Ice being so cold and heartless and willing to do anything no matter how evil or absurd for his master DIO. The emotions that run through us as we watch Iggy and Avdol sacrifice themselves to save Polnareff. How on the edge we get watching a hero like Polnareff battle an evil like Vanilla Ice anyone would look at and consider impossible to defeat with such horrifying powers and skills. The satisfying end to the duel and the tearjerking moment where we watch Avdol and Iggy pass on after seeing Polnareff had successfully avenged them. Everything in this battle was just phenomenal and very pure for a battle between good and evil.
How was he a hated character? I always liked him but this fight made me love him. One of the best fights in the entire anime for sure. And don't forget Kakyoin, Jotaro and Joseph were playing videogames while the other half of the team were dying...
Bro unleashed his inner English teacher on an ACTUALLY deep piece of literature
For the Longest time I’ve always believed that Avdol should have lived and polnareff should have sacrificed himself to show his growth from the sacrifice Avdol made . But recently (and thanks to this video) I’ve come to appreciate this fight and polnareff as a whole since his Character had a much bigger capacity to grow compared to Avdol and iggy. In the end the sacrifices made in this fight and the last fight really drive home the theme of sacrifice echoed in Part 6
Easily my favorite fight along with the Joseph vs Wamuu. This is just such a good damn fight I love it
I really like how one of the options Polnareff considers is that his friends will appear to save the day, like the viewer is also thinking that because its such a classic trope, this way it kinda lets you relate more to him, both you and the character were waiting to Jotaro appear and save the day
When I think back to the best fights in the series, the first that come to mind are: White album, part 5 train, Vanilla Ice, Josuke vs Kira and Valentine.
You posted at the perfect time, I love to watch your videos while eating and I just sat down to eat when I got the notif
Bruh this shit is peak fiction, almost like the gambling dude stand, like almost no hope if the enemy just had an IQ above 80 lol
FINALLY! someone covering my favorite fight in the entire series
The last few fights of part 3 are so peak
Darby 2 is only good for the ending/meme value.
Iggy vs Pet Shop though is pretty peak.
Man it’s actually crazy how I go to JoJo breakdown videos when I’m bored
Ngl this was one the fights that brought me to tears. Especially with iggys beat down then down. Polnareff made me proud and I got a new found respect for him
I just binge watched all Parts excluding 5. The Part 6 ending made me feel sad for a bit. But Polnareff vs Vanilla Ice made me cry.
Seeing Iggy get beaten down stirred a lot of feelings for me. Avdol dying. Polnareff experiencing hell and then still choosing to chase Dio afterwards.
It really sad to when you think about it everything that spurned polnariff forward was the loss of someone he cares for: his sister death is what got him on his quest for J.gile and crossed his fate with meeting dio and getting pulled into the whole jojo bloodline battle, avdol’s death gave him the resolve not to flee the mansion and to push forward to fight vanilla ice, iggy’s death gave him a second wind through rage/resolve not to give in to defeat…..he has his moments where he acts tough and cocky in a fight and he has skill for sure, but it’s only when he loses someone important in his life is when his true strength gets revealed, imagine how sad it is to be considered a hero but your greatest growth is from failing to save the ones you love
I started out as a Jojo hater when I started watching Part 3, and the Vanilla Ice fight is what truly made me take a step back and realize that I loved JoJo
Finally someone covers my favorite fight of the 8 parts (part 9s not done since i last checked a month or two ago)
Dio proving once again he’s the least qualified leader by failing to at least instruct Vanilla Ice on what the abilities are directly before sending him on an ambush mission.
When Avdol died I thought it was another fakeout and was shocked that he actually died
the Vanilla Ice arc + the DIO's World arc were such a great way to end SC
He was a mini boss and he took out two of the crusaders.
Calling him a mini boss is a disservice bro is literally a Dark Souls Boss
He is the boss before the final boss. Those are always a bitch to defeat.
Sometimes harder than the final boss, even.
It's important to consider the small bits of character we get of Vanilla, especially considering how shallow most part 3 villains are. Because it was more than the combined efforts of the gang, but Vanilla's absolute loyalty to Dio and nothing vice versa that cost him the fight.
man glad someone talk about this fight, my favourite one of part 3 for sure
Yeah this is easily the most memorable fight in any media for me
Polnareff was shockingly my favorite crusader. Dude has a great arc and some of my favorite fights.
I always tell people he's the secret protagonist of part 3.
This is one of the greatest fights in part 3
5:29 Nice callback to "It was me diorite!"
Something very interesting about Polnareff is that he likely has developed survivor's guilt. Like METAs said he tries to be the hero after part 3 because of the heroic Sacrifice his friends made for him in the past. His requiem stand literally changes places with people and brings beings from other dimensions to his own. As everyone here knows, requiem stands bring to life the stand user's biggest desires through an evolution of their stand. Showcasing the fact that he likely wished to die instead of Avdol or Iggy that day and still wants to find a way to bring Avdol back from cream's dimension. He probably has though to himself why his friends had to die and he gets to live? In what conceivable way is he better than them and fate chose him and let him survive? Polnareff truly is so much deeper if you really look into it.
vanilla ice's temper was his undoing, he could just get inside his stand again but he was not thinking straight
Always been my favorite fight in JoJo
That shoulder bump was top tier finish.
Polnareff is one of the most tragic characters ever written imo. Just nothing but constant life-altering agony for his entire existence, essentially. His sister was, yknow, Avdol dies twice, his friends lie to him about the first time it happened after he sees his dead loved ones as zombies, avdol dies the second time to protect him when he 'shouldn't' have, same with Iggy, almost died to 2 separate vampires. And then he gets to go home to France for almost no time relatively to be happy before he's sent across Europe and into Italy to be crippled for life with no way to contant the only (senile) friend he has left. and then hes a fucking turtle for the next like 100 years or so. Because of Coc(o Jumbo)
i never even knew people hated polnareff i thought everyone just hated joshus weird ass
same lol i thought he was a fan favorite
@@FrogLightASMR yea I loved him he's a goofy boy
Growing pains! You just do it. Sometimes fools that get to take the first step after them are blown out.
It's like the fight Jotaro and Dio is actually on level which we don't exactly understand.
In some sense it is literally so, but I thought that this fight is showing what Jotaro and Dio actually are or have gone throughin their own ways. Dio and Jotaro are like opposites of each other, but still seen the game that life is.
Avdol, Iggy, and Polnarref were novices in that sense.
They got to the level of Joestars in that fight. Even if Iggy was a cock through and through he still got to have his swan song as a moment of honorable action. Avdol in my opinion kept into shrouds throughout the story.
Still he left a hint for us that he isn't secretly some bastard.
Different characters and that was quite touching.
I love Polnareff, I honestly can’t believe most people hate/dislike him.
In 8 jojo parts, this fight is my favorite
I'll never understand how people find this story boring
CONGRATS ON 100K YAYAYA
Is that the name of this kind of story where every other episodes of fight were like a tournament kind of thing? Kind of like the sound of battle fiction
13:10 When I first saw it, made me tear up a bit. By that point, had warmed up quite a bit to Iggy and started to quite like him.
proud of the growth you’re experiencing rn man, love your work!
The French Revolution strikes again.
3:50 So Roy Mustang, too! Minus the Leadership Part.
Also there are people that don't like Polnareff? 👀
He's called Vanilla Ice because he melts in the sun
I know what the next vid this man is going to make hes going to make a vid tittle why jojo character posing is peak jojos.
polnareff made avdol proud by melting vanilla ice's fit
i think i liked this fight more because i just like silver chariot more then star platinum so cool
That metas hat looks dope, will be sure to get one 👌
Polnareff goes from being a comic relief character who gets attacked by every Stand in a 50 mile radius the INSTANT he is by himself to an irreplaceable member of The Squad™. The moment he accepts his fate and says goodbye to Iggy is heartbreaking. It comes full circle when he meets Dio on the stairs and calls out to Avdol and Iggy to give him courage 🥲
JJBA is the only show that would call one of its most threatening and powerful villains Vanilla Ice
One of the most saddest moments
Finally I to someone who like that's fight.
this is honestly the first time I hear someone say that people don't like Polnareff
Honestly, Polnareff felt like he filled in the role of Speedwagon a bit, but still very different. Maybe he's a but closer to Okuyasu
It's peak animal cruelty as well.
I don't care what people say, but Polnareff is my fav Jojo character. Loved that fight so much
People dislike polarneff is a new concept to me I love him
Polnarreff is the heart and soul of part 3
Polnareff has been one of my favorite characters since I've seen Part 3, and I'm glad there are others who agree that he's awesome
Bro got 100k subs

Star Chariot
The embodiment of the chariot is making a decision even when you dont want to. Making a decision is better than indecision according to this tarot card. So for Polnareff to watch Avdol and Iggy die right in front of him is trumped by his triumph of making the decision to kick Vanilla Ice's Creamy Ass
I didn't know people disliked polnareff... Me and my family loved him
Vanilla ice is by far my favorite penultimate final boss encounter in Jojo's bizarre adventure
Btw really great video. Totally spitting facts.
A lot of people skip fact that polnareff in that fight he was that angry at Vanilla ice that his stand Silver Chariot gain a lot of boost in that fight.
His speed, strenght and even range has boosted. Silver Chariot in that fight was madly barraging everything just to land a hit on him.
Like fr.
Does anyone realize that fast change in his stand?????
i've never met anyone who doesn't like my boy pol. he's a favorite jobro of mine. didn't know fans hated him.
Great vid
if okuyasu used the hand on cream in the ball form will the ball disappear or the hands hand.
bro whens the dio over heaven vid coming outttttttttttttttt
Hear me out, what if polnareff played a role life Joseph Joestar in part 5?
It would have been more poetic if Polnareff was the one who sacrificed himself for Avdol, his character arc would have come full circle having him be arrogant, selfish and overconfident during the fight with J Geil then becoming selfless and having his heart with the team, I know this DID happen but nothing came out of it, if his willingness to sacrifice himself wasn't fulfilled it's next to pointless
Avdol had little screentime as it is and we've experienced his death already so it would have been better to explore what losing Polnareff would be like for him
You could very well make a video (videos?) on the best fights in JoJo there aren't main villain fights.
Polnareff is my favorite JoJo character. How could anyone hate my loveable dork?
Jotaro vs Naruto
15:23 vanilla ice is 🙅♂️ vanilla ISIS👌
Wait... Polnareff got hate? wtf LMAO his "death" scene literally made me cry and my brother DROPPED JOJO FOR LIKE A WEEK cuz of it
sure, polnareff was comic relief but I always liked him.
polnareff is my favorite character
