I’d like to see an indie version, particularly if there are some colorful palettes that you actually like. Sometimes I find them a bit predictable (the neutral palette is on top, and the colorful one is in the bottom) so maybe indie would be cool if you have some “unusual” favorites
You have such a big collection and your visual memory is so good I think I’d like to see this concept but by color stories, for example “Best golden palettes”, “best berry palettes”, etc. Thank you for all your hard work!

Elf recently reformulated the Nude Rose Gold palette. It doesn’t have a mirror anymore and there’s a clear window but the shimmers are more metallic now. I love the Misundertood palette. But everyone has different preferences.

Nyx is expensive for drug store, that may be why you don't hear much about them anymore, many drug store brands have stepped up their game and are much cheaper than Nyx, nobody wants to pay that much when they can get just as good or better for cheaper.
Your description of the Bare Necessities palette is spot on. It made me not regret missing You Had Me At Hello before it was discontinued. Going Coconuts is great for travel: small, sturdy, and has the mirror. Also, I think you might really enjoy the BH Switzerland palette, too. It is really beautiful.

I love the ELF Rose Gold Nude palette, but I do have to agree with your objections to it. It works for me because I love light rosy eyeshadow and wear that more than anything, but I would imagine most people are looking for more variety.

Yes! I think it's a pretty palette but I'm the type of person who likes variety in palettes but otherwise the colors are beautiful! 🤗💕

I totally agree with you about the Wet & Wild palette I just bought a back up from EBAY that had never been opened. I miss that formula in the three pan formula as well.
I just started buying BH my favorite so far is Hanging in Hawaii by least favorite is the first one I bought is Welcome back to Brazil. The colors are nice but some are really patchy and hard to work with.
The Ocean palette is my favorite ELF I bought that as soon as I saw it before I saw any reviews it just called to me.
I was given the Disney palette and I enjoy it but I use it with other palettes.
I really enjoy these type of reviews so please do an indie.

Trying on some new NYX butter glosses actually! I like the Off Tropic palettes. Also a word to the wise, the new Blueberry gloss does NOT show up purple or sheer lol

We certainly have a lot of similar drugstore favorites. I have a lot of Revolution palettes but one that i received for my birthday is the Courage Wild Animal Palette and I too am crazy about it. The formula is great, the colors are beautiful. I want so many of the newer Elf large palettes a few of the smallest ones... they are just great quality for drugstore. BH Cosmetics Smitten in Switzerland is a favorite and I want the Maybelline Nudes of NY. Least favorites are those that Milani changed the formula and there are quite a few of them. I don't like the Milani pastel palette at all. Loved seeing your favorites and worst. Thanks Jen . Blessings!

I feel like once I used indie brands like bh or colourpop I can't use drugstore anymore. Unpopular opinion but I really didn't enjoy the wet n wild color icon palette I got, and I absolutely hated the rimmel one i got as well. But I'm now so tempted to buy the Love in London and the wild animal because of this video even though I just ordered some other palettes lol. the downside of watching your (amazing) videos is the money I will spend as a result of them hehe. Appreciate the time you took on this video with the swatches, especially with bare necessities!
I totally feel the same way that once I tried Colourpop most of the drugstore eye shadows have been a Big Miss for me.
I've been contemplating the Soft & Sultry Palette since it came out, and now that it's potentially being discontinued I'm about to pull the trigger - and this very day this video goes live. This is a sign. 👼

I am definitely going to have to pickup the Nudes of New York palette. It's really pretty !
The NYX brand for me started increasing their prices but the quality was not matching.
My favorite Colourpop palettes are the Sweet Talk, California Love, Misunderstood, Disney Masquerade, and a lot more. However, if I had to pick 1 it would be the California Love for me. My least favorite was the original Yes Please because it was definitely not as good as the quality of the palettes now.

Jen, going off color alone and watching your latest Sydney Grace picks I’d say you live bronze, copper and gold and any colors that can coordinate well with them, be it matte or Fall/Spring neutral looks. My tones too👍🏼

I like the desert oasis palette from BH the most. There are matts, shimmers, brights and darks and even a multichrome in it.

Love the original comfort zone one too! I only wish they gave us the mattes and left the shimmer formula!! Those NYX perfect filter palettes are so pretty!
I agree...why change the formula of the shimmers? They were perfect the way they were!

My absolute favorite BH palette is still the Carlie Bybel Deluxe. Oldie but a goodie.

I really don't buy drugstore eye palettes anymore. I had so much bad luck with pigmentation, blending and texture. Back in the day I loved the L'oreal HIP duos and the infallible singles as well as Milani single shadows. But colorpop palettes are definitely a step above the rest. The quality and value for the price just can't be beat.

I might get the Wild Animal Courage palette but hope it doesn’t sell out. I’ve noticed a lot of items marked down at Ulta have been selling out and not being restocked.
I have a feeling it's being discontinued because the other ones in the series are already gone from Ulta. I'll have to see if Revolution's website still has them!

Hey Lady! I just purchased the Elf Earth and ocean palette on your recommendation. I'm excited to try it! Me personally, I'm a little burnt out on all the "pinkish/mauve" palettes. I've purchased a few of these because I thought they were pretty. However, I seem to have the same issue you do. The looking a little washed out and "sick" on me. I loved them all but....yeah. Thanks for the head's up on some of your drugstore palettes. Keep doing what you do, I love love LOVE your channel!!!
I bought that Love in London palette at Christmas on your recommendation.. and it's one of my absolute favorites!! BH has a new one out called Romantic Nomad.. I really hope you review that one!! :)

Yes the old wet n wild color icon palettes were so much better. I wish they'd take the old shimmer formula and add the new mattes to make palettes theyd be ridiculoysly good.

Just seeing this now. I just bought the Palladio eye shadow trio in Vintage. Now that I am older, I want a very understated look with all my makeup and I've always liked their products. The worst palette I owned was Lorac Pro, something in the formulation caused my eyes to swell for a good number of days which was a shame because they were so smooth to work with.

I can't say that I have a favorite...yet. I had to get all new palettes because mine were a decade old and with having to wear a mask at work (I'm a nurse) makeup hasn't been able to be worn. Yes, I could cry 😓 but, once I pick a favorite I'll let you know lol. The least favorite palette I've ever used has been w7 in the smoke palette. I ended up looking like I had black eyes and the formula was beyond chalky.
I have everyone of your favorite and many of the nots. Same with your high end video. I agree with all your choices, I am a neutral cool fan. Great reviews!

I felt the exact same way about that nyx cool toned pallette. It was so patchy and dry. The shimmers didn’t show up.

lol 🤣 The Misunderstood Colourpop palette I think is Misunderstood, because like the Disney Villains I think this palette breaks the rules of regular palettes in that I don't think the shadows in that palette go together to create a regular glam look -- unless you are going for a Disney Villain vibe 😈 which I love doing on occasion. I think the palette is great when we have a certain Makeup Look we want to create and certain colors we want to use that are found in the Misunderstood palette, or if we just want to use one of the shimmers in the Misunderstood for a pop of color. If I could only have one Colourpop palette it would probably have to be So Jadded (which I don't have, but would LOVE to get some day), because it has neutral colors and also gem colors for a pop of color. The favorite Colourpop Palette that I have would have to be It's A Princess Thing, because it has neutrals and pops of color too. For Milani my favorite is the Pure Passion palette.
I never really thought of it that way but it definitely breaks the rules! That makes perfect sense! :)

colorpop is an indie brand to me but yes a whole one on indie brands would be cool!
Yes I was going to put it in the indie brand video but I knew I'd get a lot of "but it's at Ulta" comments. So I decided it's now considered a drugstore brand. :)
Jen Phelps that’s true! I’m not picky either way! I just live in Canada haha so the drugstore brands for me are the staples you can get in any drugstore anywhere in the world! But that makes a lot of sense as Ulta is a drugstore and the majority of your followers live in the US as do you! Love ya!
100% agree that the reformulated wnw shadows aren't the same at all. I have been pretty disappointed with many of them aside from glamour squad and rose in the air

I was pretty much on the same page with you all the way through! Just a few comments: I think NYX got a little too big for their britches. They started off as this amazing, ultra-affordable brand, and then their train just flew off the tracks. Their pricing went up- way up, and you couldn't, and still can't, trust their formula. Those Perfect Filter palettes are really good- the one with all the reds is my fave, but beware of the one called MARINE LAYER (or something like that). It's full of blues, grays, and pinks, with random duochrome green thrown in. It's beyond bad. And that cool-toned smokey palette you showed as your least fave is a hot mess; yet, they have another one simply called, "Cool Tones" that is exceptional. I don't know. Someone needs to remind them BH, Colourpop, Morphe, etc. are out there with an excellent selection and price point. Nobody's going to pay what NYX is asking with so many other affordable choices that consistently put out good formulas.
I completely agree with you! They definitely got too big for their britches and that's the main reason I stopped buying their products, because they were unreliable and there are so many other consistently great brands out there. Makeup Revolution is another one that is very hit or miss for me but they keep their prices low for the most part so I don't mind if I spend $7 on a palette and it's not amazing. But NYX charging $20 for theirs is crazy because I could spend a little bit more and get something high end.

I’m on the hunt for a good ND Love Palette dupe and I’m thinking the Makeup Revolution Forever Flawless Unconditional Love might be a good one.🤔🤔🤔I ordered it a while back and just got it last week so I’m hoping it’s good.🤞🏻I didn’t want to shell out the $65 for a somewhat seasonal ND palette so idk. Anyone know how it compares? I thought a lot of the shades were very similar. ☺️Just thought I’d ask.😁

My favorite Milani is the Most Loved Mattes. It's the pallete that all more expensive ones need to compete with nowadays. Be well and enjoy the daily triumphs with children underfoot. ♡

Yes, Milani seems to be discontinuing those palettes in the gold packaging. They've disappeared from stores and have been on sale on their website forever. I have a feeling that once they're gone, they aren't coming back. :(

HiJen soit seems that u cannot place an order in ulta or milani from overseas .. hence I missed out on ulta sale and now the milani palette.. so placed a small order of skin care at Sephora and 10% is just taxes 🤷🏻♀️😏

The new nudes from makeup revolution disappointed me too!! I wound up giving it to my little sister so she could practice her makeup skills.
i have the Not A Basic Peach Wet n' Wild palette that's from the same collection @ around 13:00 and it's super patchy, especially the peach and blue shades. not a fan of that formula either.

I have gotten rid of a lot but keeping some of them helps with videos like this to show what not to buy. If I wasn't a RUclipsr I would have gotten rid of them a long time ago!
