You should have a small whetstone to touch up the blade of the axe. Farmers would have carried them in the field when they were using the scythe so it should be period. Great work on the videos Natural fibers will smolder, the artificial fibers will melt.

Winter is when i have the most time to make videos and yet i have at best a 4-5 hour window before the footage is unusable. Doesnt help that it takes 3 times as long to do anything when cameras are involved. But great video in spite of all the challenges!
Mich würde interessieren, wie du die Deckenrolle gewickelt hast und vor allem wie lang du das Seil bzw. Seilteile gewählt hast und offenbar miteinander verknotet damit es ein längeres Seil wird, aber teilbar ist für die Aufgabe später die Pfosten anbringen zu können?
Ich hab nur die 2 Decken über einander gelegt, die seiten eingeschlagen (weil die eine größer ist, als die andere), dann das Seil (1,5 - 2 m) an ein Ende gelegt und alles zusammen gewickelt. Die kleinen Seilstückchen hab ich mit nen Palstek verknotet, aber ein kreuzknoten reicht locker ;) .
If you are going to make use of your cloke as a shelter, have you considered sewing reenforced tie down loops at the same places you are currently using a stone and cording now?
I actually tried that! it seems like this is kind of worse, cause the fabric stretched to a higher amount in less time. That means that less surface for distributing the force got used. and when you look at it, it kind of makes sense....
