faulty Alarms sounding caused by Power cut in Congleton (West Heath)

- this is the second power cut in Congleton today. The first one happened in the east of Congleton near bromley street knocking out power to over 700 homes. the one I filmed was in West Heath but I was pretty localized with a small number of houses with no power. I think I missed the best part of it as I could hear alot more of them. I only new about the outage after the lights dipped for 1 second and loads of alarm bell boxes started sounding so I knew it was a nearby outage. that's all I could fined this time.

When there's a power cut in the neighborhood you can be sure one of the alarms going off will be a Ventcroft!

Yep. Any alarm really when the battery is almost completely flat. That bell box is a Kinetic AZTECH 2000.

It isn't possible to do this in this situation when there is a power failure. As the main battery is dead, the whole system is dead aside for the bellbox siren. So the occupants will have gone to their panel to type in the code only to be faced with a completely dead panel, despite their bellbox ringing outside. Unless you're prepared to get a ladder up there's no turning it off.

How i know the powers gone off at least.. Unless I'm working down the shed... Then everything just straight up dies, and I'm just staring at blank screens in the dark.

No power from panel. It was using its own backup battery.

Does AZTECH 2000 have Pyronix sounder or texecom
Kinetic. The company who made these is Kinetic. Tried using a piezo on a texecom odyssey bell but didn't work. Must be on a kinetic only. The current az tech bell you can find is the aztech 120, 220 and 320. This was the old model before it. They are prone to faults and had to remove some more than most bells. Had to change my grandads bell after it was faulty. It was only 12 years old! That's terrible age and looked tired. Still loads of Az tech 2000s around.

@JoesMastsAndCarsAndAlarmsAndGames from the Backup battery inside the bell box. Yes. It can be switched on or off using a jumper. Sounder time can be changed using another jumper. 5 seconds, 9 minutes and 15 minutes. The third jumper is SAB/SCB operation.
