Giving her children a Dettol bath!!!! I'm shocked. When I was a kid we had a bath once a week and survived, never sick, no allergies or intolerances, no asthma. We also played outside all the time in the dirt but our mum focused on fruit and veg and no sugar diet, everything whole meal and always home cooked from scratch. Amanda has priorities all wrong, what about the constant chemicals from the cleaning products??? She's worried about germs, I'm actually concerned about cancer and Kidney/Liver issues for these kids.
You get detol that can be put into baths for your skin if you have a cut or skin problems... its actually recommended by some doctors for certain skin conditions And she did say the hospital recommended soaking a cut in detol and that's why she bathed the kids in it x
I'm concerned about their mental health being berated for acting like kids, having their stuff thrown away because their awful uptight micromanger mother doesn't like mess, and being treated like filth that needs to be washed in Dettol. Amanda belongs in a padded room, not on a TV show.
@@alison2984 Doctors also prescribe drugs that can have seriously harmful effects. Occasional use on a cut isn't the same as disinfecting your children every week. That's not healthy, even if the manufacturer claims it's okay.

This show makes me so happy that my mum kept the house spotless, it means I enjoy cleaning I would get so stressed living in a messy house I couldn’t cope
I like the first messy family. They are happier than the first clean family. The mother's attitude for her children is very good too. They need to be a little more tidy and she was willing to do so. There is nth to blame.
27:08 Just because a child hasn’t played with a toy in 6 months, doesn’t mean they don’t care about or want that toy anymore. The toys had probably been lost in the mess for so long that they were wondering where they went but didn’t know how to look. No need to throw away a CHILD’s toys unless they’ve said they don’t want them anymore. It’s a very sad childhood Amanda’s kids are living, in my opinion. I didn’t grow up that way so maybe it’s different but I can imagine it would be stressful when you see how other people live and you know you’ll never be able to relax in your own home.
My parents also threw out heaps of my stuff including books I had purchased with birthday money. I was so upset about it. They didn't even have the decency to ask if I still wanted them or not. It's a really shitty thing to do to your kids!
My parents used to toss toys I left out on the floor. It wasn't their responsibility to clean after me and I learned that cleaning after myself is important.
Avril is obviously depressed and puts on a front. Yes she's lazy but you can see a real lack of motivation too which is sad. Mark is a sweetheart and very patient.
The first woman is so rude I have ocd and have to have things in order and clean, I dont think she should be telling someone she doesn't know to throw special things away and speak down to her ive had ocd all my life and never judged or disrespected people, and her 2 children look unhappy the other lady's children look so happy.
Just me or 20h cleaning per week sounds reasonable? That's llittle over 2.5h per day. Takes me an hour to do only dishes and sorting washing.. Think i might be watching too much if Filth 😂
Yes, I keep thinking that... It really does take a couple of hours a day at LEAST to run a home. One hour just to clean up after cooking, including a dishwasher run. My house would benefit from 3-4 hours a day but I don't have the energy or time.
Avril is so lazy and resentful. She didn't care tp hwlp out. I'm sorry for Mark, he had to deal with it on his own. His work is highly underrated. Wish him the best!
One of the women is ill. I know how that feels. I used to have a cleaning lady though for the things I couldn't do. Now I live with my partner and we struggle along together. I do clean but tbh my efforts can easily put me in bed for a couple days recovering.
You must be hell lazy to have such a messy home !! Too ill to put cigarets to bin ? Really ? This is just disgusting. I would not touch their houses even for thousands
lol those messy kids rooms are kinda nostalgic in a weird way 😂 i was such a messy kid and my room sadly looked like that until like 6th grade lmao. now im super tidy prob because my room would get so freaking nasty all the time and it was not fun
Pure and utter laziness, I'm a single mother, I have fibromyalgia and my child has additional needs, never in a million years would I allow myself or my child to live like that, but I def don't agree with the way Amanda is speaking to Jeanie, like she's Mrs know it all, and bathing your kids in Dettol, my god🤦🏼♀️ The lady with the glasses was so grateful, I hope she sticks to her promise, her mental health will improve if she does x
Somehow I admire OCD cleaners who still manage to keep pets of the fur variety. Also shows how illogical OCD is, their pet will never be very hygienic, but they have no qualms cuddling them.
Well if that's the case, she shouldn't have been on the programme; That mother needs a wakeup call, because her home isn't just messy, it's filthy and there's flies everywhere.
@@Little_Lady_GCT i agree, she'd have been out after the first 5 minutes, and i wouldnt have been very polite..her poor kids are going to grow up either with no confidence, or as rude and bad mannered as she is!
There is something deeply off about that Amanda here. She gives off such negative cold vibes and it seems to me she has no concept of compassion or human welfare and receptivity. I fear for her poor children and the harsh and negative psychological affects she no doubt has on them. What a judgemental, aggressive and cold-hearted little snob she is. Even her cold eyes and general demeanour are grossly unwelcoming.
You people need to stop being radical, even Janines children are happy their home is now actually clean, making them feel more safe and secure. They appreciate Amanda’s help alone.
I thought that, but apparently a bit of washing up liquid is a really effective flea treatment and probably much safer than the spot on treatments, which are pesticide and a neurotoxin! I'm not sure how I'm going to convince my cat to have a wash though...
With Janine's attitude, her two girls could end up like their mother and have a messy house. My mum used to make my brother and I keep our rooms clean and to this day, I have my home spotless.
The problem is that Janine's mum made her clean, so she has rebelled. My friend was like this because this happened to her. However, as soon as she had children, she then kept her house clean
I have a friend who is messy and a hoarder. She's a lawyer, very well put together, you would never guess. I thought the state of her house was her way of coping with the stressful work life. Until I visited her mum. Same mess, her mum is a stay at home wife. Clutter everywhere, it made me claustrophobic.
I believe it's all about having a balance: my mum was a very messy person all her life so I'm trying to make my house a tidy place. Curiously enough, my husband who grew up in a very clean house is now the messy one. I don't know how my kid will turn out to be like.
Not for sure - growing up the house was a bit of a mess, somewhat dirty and very messy but now I live alone my house is very tidy because I don't want to live like that anymore. Thankfully I am somewhere in the middle of the extreme of these messy people and the OCD cleaners.
My mother and father were both extremely clean and tidy and made us do a lot of the cleaning when we were young. Nothing at all wrong with that, it's teaching kids life skills but.... It didn't rub off on me at all. I don't live in filth by any means but I'm certainly not as obsessed as my parents were and tend to let things go every once in a while. I have severe depression and sometimes just can't give 2 shits about the state of my house.
Amanda seems very privileged to me. Good finances, immaculate health, lot of free time,… it's not hard to keep a clean house, when you have all this going for you.
It really doesn’t help having such openly rude and ignorant people to ‘help’ with cleaning/decluttering someones home. Especially that lady who was talking down to the other mum as if she was superior to her. I understand it is not their mess to clear and they are doing someone a favour, but you never know the situation or medical history concerning the messy person, and being rude because they just assume the root cause is laziness doesn’t make the experience helpful and just causes more stress. Having a messy home is embarrassing for anyone whether they like to admit it or not. And let’s face it, bleaching your house after you have a guest or wiping your countertops 10x a day is completely obsessive and excessive, not to mention a waste of time. Germs (good and bad) are everywhere and a little exposure strengthens your immune system. Both sides have a lot to learn and none of these people are perfect.
She has not done anything wrong in my opinion. Teaching her children to put their toys away in the correct place after playing with them is good discipline and structure which children need. Dettol is used safely for bathing by many people around the world without harm coming to them, it is a mild disinfectant and it tends to keep away staph and other skin infections.
Are you for real? When children are getting sexually, physically or mentally abused, then you can call social services, not because a mum tells her children to tidy their toys away, and if they don't then she will put them in the bin!
I mean its important to clean but allowing your house to get messy from time to time isn't gonna kill you. Spend your time on what's most important. Life is to short for that.
I would be DEVASTATED If my mum tossed out my sentimental items. Even if they don't get used. They have memories. Like, I have a toy dog that I had as an infant. I don't play with him anymore. But he's part of my memories. If mum had to toss him I would have been utterly upset. Amanda needs to relax. Stop being controlling and unwind.

Actually kids build there immune systems outside not in the home .. and tou need a clean home so you don't end up sick and a dirty home can actually be deadly cos of the bacteria
I hate I hate, people saying this is laziness! No depression or other mental heath or physical disabilities are the cause! Not laziness! She wants to do it but her brain won’t let her or she physically can not do the task
A messy house is a happy one? Ugh, I would never be happy surrounded by all this filth and grime. There's a big difference between a messy house and a pigpen.
I agree 🤢 Kids need a clean and tidy environment It's literally a basic care need along with food, clothing, personal hygiene and a clean safe environment x
I noticed that the women were talking a lot and doing/helping in nothing. Criticism is easy... But at least the job is done... The ocd made a fantastic job... I m working in my home, making a huge inventory, an amazing lady helps me, step by step I m feeling more free...
When I was growing up us kids were very much involved with helping with housework. We each had our chores. Everything had a place. As I became older I went the opposite way. I have issues with housework to the point of not getting it done now it's beyond that stage where it can be done especially alone. I want to be neat and tidy . I suffer with bipolar disorder and I have days where I don't want to do anything but at the same time looking at the mess upsets me too.
I hope you overcome the cleaning, try a room, corner or task per day five times a week for an hour each day. Reduce clutter and objects you don't need or use weekly or monthly. Don't lose hope, one day you can overcome it!
Seeing them swab that cat, it makes me wonder how clean they are themselves. I would be very curious to know what the bacteria count is on their skin, or my own for that matter.
"I've worked hard to get these things" Didn't they say she doesn't work because of "health reasons" she's on disability benefits, she doesn't work for that stuff
They said she hasn't worked for about 5 years, therefore presumably she worked before that paying into the system and contributed to the payments she's now receiving
Having chronic illness makes it very hard to do your cleaning, although I have employed cleaners for things I couldn't do. And guess what, some of them were complete c**ts, and because they could not see a disability (I have arthritis, chronic migraine, sleep disorders and psoriasis which is usually beneath clothes) they believed I was not really disabled. Let's just say, I got through a LOT of cleaners.
Children have rights to live in a clean place.Until children are not able to clean, mother must clean. If people had less staff, than was easier to clean.
Especially nowadays, we have electronics and fabrics in our homes that are treated flameretardant chemichals that gradually evaporates and attach to dust so if you have kids or pets who play in floorlevel it's wise to vacum quite frequently.
I agree my house is regularly decluttered so it's easy to clean and I tidy the full house daily (only the toys are a mess but put away at the end of the day) And do a full clean every few days - all bedrooms surfaces cleaned, beds changed, bathroom cleaned, Kitchen full clean, living room surfaces cleaned, full house hover and mopping it only takes me 1 hr to do because I keep on top of it
Yeah kids should have a fun childhood but they still need structure. If the school knew about the condition of her home she’d be held accountable. No one is going to send their child to that house to play, it affects the children more than she’s willing to let on and will affect them in later life.
True, there's no excuse for a dirty house unless you are struggling with an illness, but children need to be exposed to bacteria. Otherwise they will grow up to be sick frequently
Janine looks like Edina from 'Absolutely fabulous' when she smiles! Loved her personality, I am a bit messy myself, but do have daily and weekly routines. She has happy kids!

@@ikram5011 Amanda seems highly strung like she can't sit down for 2 minutes or give herself time to think. Always focused on what she''s doing and what she's going to do next. She's a very irritating person like a damn mosquito buzzing about ready to bite.
Amanda is very harsh, she needs to think that not everyone is like her. Jeanine seems visibly hurt by her comments
That Amanda's kids are going to grow up with a lot of problems and really resenting her if she's not careful.
they probably disowned her by now
Giving her children a Dettol bath!!!!
Agreed. Diluted dethol bath is in my höst opinion childabuse
Agree, it gave me creeps
You get detol that can be put into baths for your skin if you have a cut or skin problems... its actually recommended by some doctors for certain skin conditions
And she did say the hospital recommended soaking a cut in detol and that's why she bathed the kids in it x
Amanda is horrible, great for working 60 hours a week and doing 20 hours of cleaning as well but those are not everyones life goals. Her kids look so sad and whats the point of it all? Where is the joy in her home? I would choose lovely, warm & kind Jeannine any day!
It’s about balance
Why would you choose Janine house dust, flies buzzing around, no order, chaotic and mould infest house
Not exactly healthy
@MissG8340 loool I'd definitely choose d cleaner house
@@playaccount589100000% agree 😂
Amanda is one vile woman and her kids look so miserable.. feel sorry for them ☹
Who’d you rather live with ? A person with no sense of hygiene
@ajaycyriljose9419 lol these ppl r just idk what to say nasty defending someone for living in mess. But in my country a clean house and proper hygiene is what's required. If you don't bathe twice a day people consider you to not have good hygiene
Can't wait for an update on this episode, with Amandas kids needing help to clear their homes, after the deep seated psychological trauma she is causing them !
The first woman doesn't speak nice to her children its like she's got no emotions.
She's got OCD, its a mental illness. But I agree, its an illness that is not particularly good for the children.
Agree. She lacks empathy
This show makes me so happy that my mum kept the house spotless, it means I enjoy cleaning I would get so stressed living in a messy house I couldn’t cope
Love how grateful Avril was, had me howling when she said, "He must have the energy of a bloody rocket" 💀💀💀
Yes that comment was hilarious 😅
He called her lazy coz she is lazy 🤷♀️
Her face when he said theres laziness 🤣🤣
Haha! The quote of the series is in this this episode... "who's gonna eat their dinner off a cat!?" 😂
It's not just about cleaning. Those houses are so neglected and starting to fall apart. That can't go on forever.
I didn’t grow up that way so maybe it’s different but I can imagine it would be stressful when you see how other people live and you know you’ll never be able to relax in your own home.
janine did so well with the rudness and ignorance of amanda. i love that she treats the opinion and the stuff of her children with respect ♥
I know right 😂 I'm no where near an ocd cleaner and not specifically tidy but I clean minimum 4 hours a day 😂
It takes you an hour to do dishes and sort washing? You're slow asf
I spent two hours a day just with ordinary househoods and my housd is far from these ocd people
Yes, I keep thinking that... It really does take a couple of hours a day at LEAST to run a home. One hour just to clean up after cooking, including a dishwasher run. My house would benefit from 3-4 hours a day but I don't have the energy or time.
I thinks it's just enough. I'm a SAHM and need to spend from 9AM to school run cleaning ,not that anyone in the house ever notices 🤣!
Honestly, if someone who bathed her kids in detol weekly tried to have digs about priorities for children's welfare, I'd lose my shit :')
It's a capful of Dettol antiseptic (not cleaner) in a bathful of water, lol.
And all she simply said was isn’t having a clean house a priority for your kids
Avril is so lazy and resentful. She didn't care tp hwlp out. I'm sorry for Mark, he had to deal with it on his own. His work is highly underrated. Wish him the best!
Bloody rude! How could they tell people they are lazy without knowing any of their history.
There’s always an element of laziness when it’s that bad
Also she said it herself cleaning isn’t a priority therefore she doesn’t think it’s important
Mark is a lovely man. He doesn't judge, he listens
I thought he judged just as much as Amanda actually. And I don't blame them
lol those messy kids rooms are kinda nostalgic in a weird way 😂 i was such a messy kid and my room sadly looked like that until like 6th grade lmao. now im super tidy prob because my room would get so freaking nasty all the time and it was not fun
Same. My room didn't look that much better until I was 14/15 or something 😅
Has anyone else noticed that most people from EXECUTIVEly clean parent/parents tend to not be arsed to clean?
Loved your name
Mark has done a great job..looking for more videos like this.
Pure and utter laziness, I'm a single mother, I have fibromyalgia and my child has additional needs, never in a million years would I allow myself or my child to live like that, but I def don't agree with the way Amanda is speaking to Jeanie, like she's Mrs know it all, and bathing your kids in Dettol, my god🤦🏼♀️
The lady with the glasses was so grateful, I hope she sticks to her promise, her mental health will improve if she does x
Somehow I admire OCD cleaners who still manage to keep pets of the fur variety. Also shows how illogical OCD is, their pet will never be very hygienic, but they have no qualms cuddling them.
Of the fur variety 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Please tell me Amanda is just playing up to the camera, and isn’t really like this!! Horrible personality!
Mark did such an incredible Job!
I can understand him not wanting his girlfriend's dog inside his flat; I won't have animals in my house either.
If someone had come in and spoken to me the way Amanda did to that Mum I’d politely ask her to leave.
i didn't think she was too bad... 😂
Well if that's the case, she shouldn't have been on the programme; That mother needs a wakeup call, because her home isn't just messy, it's filthy and there's flies everywhere.
I agree. So horrible and rude.
I wouldnt even politely ask her to leave, she'd be told straight
@@Little_Lady_GCT i agree, she'd have been out after the first 5 minutes, and i wouldnt have been very polite..her poor kids are going to grow up either with no confidence, or as rude and bad mannered as she is!
It’s remarkable that the people with OCD making them clean obsessively can’t see that some of the people with filthy homes are also mentally unwell.
The two women at the end hugged , just lovely
14:00 I'm a messy cooker😁 Avril has about the same energy as a Sloth
😂😂😂
Amanda is so cold, I feel so sorry for her kids.
I know it is very wrong, but I couldn't stop picturing her in the Nazi uniform in the concentration camp "cleaning"
@@aliya6158 Now you mention it.... 😬
You people need to stop being radical, even Janines children are happy their home is now actually clean, making them feel more safe and secure. They appreciate Amanda’s help alone.
“My front door doesn’t work” 🤣
This show is making my eyes water 🤣🤣🤣
Your not supposed to bath your cat it’s not good for their fur or them!
I thought that, but apparently a bit of washing up liquid is a really effective flea treatment and probably much safer than the spot on treatments, which are pesticide and a neurotoxin! I'm not sure how I'm going to convince my cat to have a wash though...
I’m glad I watched till the end it pays not to judge people to quickly
Amanda acts all high and mighty and spends all that time and money keeping her house clean and tidy yet she doesn’t put her toilet lid down 🤮🤮
But I bet her toilet is 10000% germ free 😊
I legit spat my drink when they swabbed the cat XD
I was shocked to see him alive after washing the cat so funny
Imagine spending 80 hours of every week not having a life....God how dull!!
Cleaning is part of life. Some people get lots of pleasure and relaxation from cleaning.
She washes her children in dettol and bins their toys because they were playing with them. Where are children’s services?
She said if there left on the ground as in if they have finished playing and left it there and not tidy it up then she puts it in the bin
Galas you don’t have children, you are a bit crazy aren’t you.
Are you for real? When children are getting sexually, physically or mentally abused, then you can call social services, not because a mum tells her children to tidy their toys away, and if they don't then she will put them in the bin!
Can't imagine how it's smell at the dirty house. How can they live in such a mess and dirt
At some point they just don't care anymore and being in the house everyday they might not realize how bad it is.
Hayley ”who's going to eat their dinner off a cat?" 😆😆😆😺
I'd love to eat my dinner off her, maybe her kittycat too. 🤣 I see this may sound a little pervert, but I'm not a bad guy.
I needed this today xx
Imagine if Amanda was suspected of murder.. bleach would be a massive red flag 🤣
Hats off to Mark !! Great guy
The worst part for me was the way the little girl manhandled the cat at the end 😔
I mean its important to clean but allowing your house to get messy from time to time isn't gonna kill you. Spend your time on what's most important. Life is to short for that.
But the people on these programmes literally haven't cleaned for years or even decades!
She wasn't even wearing her seatbelt. Yes ... Very on top of it aren't you lool
Well,
the more Episodes I see,
I think this is working

Besides, I do think it could be Time for Avril (instead of 5 Hours looking for Stuff) to try some Makeover now that her Home it shining so brightly, some nice new Hairdo, some MakeUp, maybe some Manicure and Pedicure.
I think it could be inspiring. I see some Possibilities for her to feel fresh new and romantic, another Spring! 🌹 🌹 🌹
Neither of the first two ladies kids look very healthy...
This has made me start cleaning most of the day
Buggering up those kids immune systems. A bit of dirt never hurt anyone. Playing in the garden, getting dirty is good for them
Actually kids build there immune systems outside not in the home .. and tou need a clean home so you don't end up sick and a dirty home can actually be deadly cos of the bacteria
@@alison2984 yes, kids need dirt. As i said, they get it from playing outside. Obviously your home has to be clean. Mine has always been that way

Amanda said that her kids do play on the garden etc.
Mark has a long patience to Avril being sentimental to her things.
I hate I hate, people saying this is laziness!
No depression or other mental heath or physical disabilities are the cause! Not laziness! She wants to do it but her brain won’t let her or she physically can not do the task
Oh I agree so much! It rankles me to hear that too 👍
A messy house is a happy one? Ugh, I would never be happy surrounded by all this filth and grime. There's a big difference between a messy house and a pigpen.
I agree 🤢
Kids need a clean and tidy environment
It's literally a basic care need along with food, clothing, personal hygiene and a clean safe environment x
Hayleys comments about the cat made me giggle
"but whos eating dinner of the cat"
Hold on, lemme grab my cat and test something real quick
I look forward to seeing these videos
Marks reaction when he walked into her house LOL
Amanda is the devil... to her children as well as to Jeanine! She definitely needs professional help
One of my favourite of Hayley's quotes, 'who's going to eat their dinner off a cat?'. Love her!
I noticed that the women were talking a lot and doing/helping in nothing. Criticism is easy... But at least the job is done... The ocd made a fantastic job... I m working in my home, making a huge inventory, an amazing lady helps me, step by step I m feeling more free...
She's all talk and no action; Instead of criticising him, she needs to shut up, get off her butt and start helping.
what?
Mark's a machine,I absolutely love his enthusiasm 👏👏👏
Mark's voice is sooo sweet
"I've worked hard to get these things"
Didn't they say she doesn't work because of "health reasons" she's on disability benefits, she doesn't work for that stuff
The thing is all of them are mental health in different ways
Children have rights to live in a clean place.Until children are not able to clean, mother must clean. If people had less staff, than was easier to clean.
Especially nowadays, we have electronics and fabrics in our homes that are treated flameretardant chemichals that gradually evaporates and attach to dust so if you have kids or pets who play in floorlevel it's wise to vacum quite frequently.
I agree my house is regularly decluttered so it's easy to clean and I tidy the full house daily (only the toys are a mess but put away at the end of the day)
And do a full clean every few days - all bedrooms surfaces cleaned, beds changed, bathroom cleaned, Kitchen full clean, living room surfaces cleaned, full house hover and mopping it only takes me 1 hr to do because I keep on top of it
Also the children should be learning to clean as well, it's such an important life skill.
I literally said out loud "did she just say detol bath?" Oh my goodness.
It's the antiseptic, not the cleaning stuff. 😂😂
I love watching this coz I want it to inspire me but sadly it never due 😝
Mark is the best cleaner i seen so far. With steam cleaners and all. Oh wow.
Janine looks like Edina from 'Absolutely fabulous' when she smiles! Loved her personality, I am a bit messy myself, but do have daily and weekly routines. She has happy kids!
Every time Mark went into her bedroom Jeannie lay provocatively across her bed. He doesn't look like a babe magnet he must have strong pheremones. Seriously he was kind and did a cracking job
